Options In Child Bike Safety Explained
The thrill of riding a bike is something that is very appealing to children of all ages. Even when they are still in diapers, children appreciate the gentle wind and surroundings they see in a fun bike ride. But getting the proper safety equipment in such cases is important, as we don’t want to see our little loved ones get hurt.
The youngest of children will most likely have to be put in special bike seats. The leader in the industry of bike seats in this case is normally the “Weeride” line of products, although there are some intriguing competitors. Regardless, Weeride products allow for children to be put into a safety seat and harness so that the adult can provide an invigorating ride.
The common baby seat is placed in the back, although this is a major safety risk. Adults will appreciate the front riding seats that products such as Weeride provides. After all, a crash or other accident will leave a back seat strewn about, without the aid of the adult. But when riding right next to the adult’s arms, smaller children are much more protected as a result.
For tikes that are too old to sit in a baby seat, there is another option that allows for the same experience without the dangers. This option comes via the co-pilot bike. This model of Weeride products allows for a smaller bike to be in junction with a larger bike. It allows for the child to pedal just like the adult would, but the child can’t turn as it is attached to the back of the adult’s bike.
Still older kids will also be able to benefit from increased safety through the Weeride product known as the “EZ Trainer.” This product allows an adult to control the child’s bike via an elongated stick-like device. This can be done without the training wheels that most kids learn off of, and gives children the feeling of actually riding the bike- unlike the feeling that training wheels produce.
Lastly, most consumers will have questions as to which products fit which bikes. The good news is that most Weeride products do indeed fit the majority of bikes- depending on the product. Some products such as the “EZ Trainer” will even fit all standard bikes, with very few exceptions. Other products allow for maximum interchangeability, meaning that investing in such a product won’t turn into a poor investment as a result of not being able to use it.
In Conclusion
There is much cause to celebrate with the addition of a Weeride product in a family’s household. After all, the gift of enjoying a fun bike ride is priceless. Allowing children to experience the joys that adults can is rewarding- and doubly so thanks to safety equipment and technology that minimizes the risk of injury that comes as a result of such activities.
