Clicker training is a slang name which originally came from the scientific term operant conditioning. Formerly used to train aquatic mammals, it has become progressively more distinguished in training horses using positive reinforcement.

An animal learns a particular behavior or a task using the concept of operant conditioning in psychology where positive reinforcement is given after the action that the trainer wants the animal to repeat has been carried out successfully. However, the undesirable behavior or actions done by the animal aren’t rewarded and it will be ignored. Therefore the horse is more eager and quick to learn because they know rewards are given for the right actions.

Clicker training is such a great tool where you can embrace it with other training methods. What you have to do to start is get yourself a clicker, some treats, and a container for the rewards. Your horse is now on its way to follow your instructions once you have got them. Actually there are no given rules to follow when using the clicker training, but with the following guide below, you can use this method to your advantage.

The sound of the ‘click.’ is very important

Your horse has to know that the sound ‘click’ means a reward is coming. First try to click your clicker for a few times and reward it with a treat every time it hears the sound. After about 10-15 minutes, you must repeat the sequence of clicking followed by treating. Some horses may need more sessions, but there are horses that easily get accustomed to the clicker training after three sequences.

Avoid pushing your horse too much

It will be better to train for more than 10-15 minutes, because it will be more effective. However, try to uphold short sessions that are broken into several days than having a long one in a day. That is the reason why you must know not every horse is the same in its readiness and ability to absorb new task.

A target should be used

By using a target, it will be much easier to train your horse and it has something to aim at. Apply the positive reinforcement when appropriate and let this be the first task that it needs to fulfilled. The simplest thing is by hanging a plastic bottle and ask it to bump it using its head. Having done it successfully, you must reward it not once but every time it does it perfectly.

Timing is very important in clicker training. Click each time the horse successfully bumps the target then give a reward. You have to repeat it until the behavior is reinforced.

Proceed to the next level

After it has learned to bump the target, move on to the next level. Then, guide your horse to pursue the target then head bob it before you give it a reward. This is some sort like a revision to test your previous training and will tell whether you have properly conditioned your horse to respond to the ‘click.’ Each session should be conducted in short periods and you have to be patient. Not all horses will learn in the same manner, you need to remember that.

As soon as you have completed this basic clicker training for it, you may proceed to more advance training. You can employ this method to compliment your other trainings to make it easier for you to teach and your horse to learn.

You do need to exercise caution when using feng shui candles, the same as when using regular candles. Don’t leave them unattended. Don’t use them in children’s rooms and don’t have them where pets can knock them over.

We orchestrate our experiences by the activity of our thinking. Everything in the manifest realm has its beginning in thought.

The seat in which you are sitting was once a ‘Fig Newton’ in someone’s imagination. The clothes you are wearing were once a spark in someone’s thoughts. This article was once a figment in my imagination.

Everything you can see and touch has its start in thought. This is the Law of Mind Action. You already have a well-grounded understanding for thought power or you wouldn’t have been attracted to this article at all.

The reality of the matter is – we are what we think and we think what we are! Proverbs 23:7 tells us: “For as (we) think in our heart, so are (we).”

The brilliant Theosophist, Dr. Annie Besant, had this to say:

“(We) fix the normal vibration-rate of our minds. Thoughts which do not harmonize with that rate will be flung aside when they touch the mind. If (we) think truth, a lie cannot lodge itself in (our) mind; if we think love, hate cannot disturb us; if we think wisdom, ignorance cannot paralyze us. Here alone is safety and power. The mind must not be allowed to vibrate as it pleases, because that means it will answer to any passing vibration.”

Her last statement warns us to pay attention to what we think. “The mind,” she says, “must not be allowed to vibrate as it pleases, for that means that it will answer to any passing vibration.”

In other words, we’ve got to Feng ShuiShui our thinking.

When we fill our minds with the right thoughts, arranged in the correct order, our choices and actions will be the perfect choices and actions. Our living will come from the right place, and the right place is from our Divine Center.

Correct thinking comes from Divine thinking. Emmet Fox tells us: “Negative thoughts and feelings are like a spark that falls on your coat sleeve. Brush it off and it will do no damage. Let it linger and it will burn a hole.”

If he were speaking today, he might say, “We have got to Feng Shui our thinking!

If you’re not happy with how fast your IRA is growing and you’re willing to take on a little extra risk, you might be the perfect sort of person to engage in investing from within an IRA. Few people realize this, but your IRA money is not locked away in a vault; rather, you should look at it as a living trust of sorts, with plenty of options for you to grow it if you just take the initiative and learn the rules.

Even cautious investors should consider doing this with their IRA today. Almost everything that your desktop does can now be done online. That includes data storage. Your hard drive used to be your most secure repository… but it no longer is. It is now cheaper and more reliable to store your data online on a massive web server.

The subject of online storage is, like most others, “an ocean unto itself”. This means that the prudent way to learn about it is to first read knowledgeable literature about it. Here’s an article about it based on firsthand usage.

~~~ Local Storage Will Bite You ~~~

Some of the many reasons for not using local storage (i.e. DVDs, etc.) are:

Every desktop will crash at some point, taking your data with it. Massive web servers have copies of your data running on multiple machines. If one machine fails, your data is safe on another machine, and that machine is pressed into service automatically. The machine is unlikely to fail in the first place because access to it is very strictly controlled (unauthorized, untrained people can never mess around with it).

If you use DVDs or CDs for backup, they can get scratched, lost and thereby rendered useless through careless handling. In all likelihood that’s already happened to you (like it has to me)

If your storage requirements are very large, say more than 1000 GB, you might have to buy an external hard drive of large capacity. These are expensive. The cost per byte stored works out less if you choose the right online server

Whether you use DVDs, CDs or external drives, how on earth do you access them when you travel away from your base location??

Some of the reasons in favor of using online storage on a large server are:

A large online server will actually be a network of servers connected together, all of them belonging to the online storage company. Copies of your data will be stored on many of them. If the primary server crashes, one of the others takes over seamlessly. Since it has a copy of your data on it, you don’t loose a single byte because of the crash

The probability of even the primary server crashing is remote. It’s housed in a building with generator backup power, fire prevention systems, access only to authorized personnel, peripheral security cameras, et al

Suppose your files are accessed hundreds of times a minute. Your desktop would slow down, probably take hours to serve each request. A large online server is, as mentioned earlier, a network of servers with multiple copies of your data. If the primary server starts getting overburdened by download requests, the other servers kick in to start delivering your files (remember, all of them maintain copies of your files). The net result: users do not experience delay when demand is high

You can be anywhere on earth and be able to access your files (assuming that every place on earth has an Internet connection, which is getting to be more true by the second)

On a cost per byte basis, online can be CHEAPER than local storage!

To sum things up, the outstanding reliability and scalability of large online storage servers make them preferable to local storage. Start using them and avoid data loss, server slowdowns and high hardware costs.
