Using Feng Shui Candles the Right Way
If you have been researching feng shui, you may have seen information on feng shui candles. How do these candles differ from regular candles? Should they be used in certain places? Are there any places that you should not use these candles?
The Five Natural Elements and Feng Shui Candles
The five natural elements are wood, metal, water, earth, and fire. The teachings of feng shui say that all rooms of your home should have a balance using these elements. Do you know what this means?
Simply put, you can think about how different elements either feed or destroy one another. Wood feeds fire, but water destroys it. Earth feeds wood, but metal destroys that. Destruction is not something thats taught in feng shui, but balance is. So, if you have a room that has very strong elements of earth, such as the warm tones of your living room or bedroom, you may want to introduce some balance by bringing in the element of fire ” and this is where feng shui candles come into play. Obviously you cant set up a bonfire in your home, and not every room has a fireplace, but candles are a small and affordable way to accomplish this.
How Feng Shui Candles Affect Energy
Additionally, fire is an element that represents strong energy and vitality, and any room or corner of your home that needs this energy can benefit from this element. For example, many couples who are needing to add some spice or energy to their love life are encouraged to introduce feng shui candles to the bedroom. The fire is an encouragement to have that energy and revitalization. Of course, you do need to exercise safety precautions and be sure to extinguish those candles before going to sleep!
Feng shui candles are not limited to any certain room. They can be used in the dining room, the family room, or any other room of your home. Try using them to eat dinner by instead of the overhead lights and see how energized your children become. They will be more talkative than normal.
Where You Should Not Use Feng Shui Candles
Because fire is such a strong element, it does need to be tapered somewhat. If you have a large fireplace in your home, you are probably already bringing in enough of this element already. Be wary of overdoing it by lining your fireplace mantel with your feng shui candles. Instead, keep these candles for a place in your home thats far enough away from the fireplace that the two will not compete with one another.
You do need to exercise caution when using feng shui candles, the same as when using regular candles. Don’t leave them unattended. Don’t use them in children’s rooms and don’t have them where pets can knock them over.
If you apply these principles to your use of feng shui candles, you will soon begin to enjoy the vitality and energy that they bring to your life and your home.
