1) Use the Paint Brush tool to “paint away” color to black and white while working on a color image to make a section of your image stand out dramatically. From the Paint Brush Options palette, change the blend mode to Color and then paint to remove the color from the image.

2. Press the Shift to add more to the selection, or press the Alt to take away from the selection when using your magic wand tool.

3. If you have a lot of images to display, use Photoshop’s image gallery to build a webpage of images that are thumbnailed for you. FILE > Automate > Web Images Gallery

4. To automatically select the entire text layer, double click on the ‘T’ on a Type layer in the Layers Palette.

There are at least two ways to switch between the choice of measurement units that Photoshop displays.

5. Option one is to change them in your Preferences by choosing Units & Rulers (in Photoshop 7 under Mac OS 9, Preferences is found under the Edit menu) in the Photoshop menu under Preferences. At this point you can change the ruler units and click OK.

6. The second way is to open the Info Palette (go to the Window menu and choose Info) and click on the small triangle next to the cross in the lower left quadrant. This will bring up a menu that will allow you to change units on the fly.

7. To cycle through different screen modes, simply press the F key

You can select just the pixels without the transparency area of the layer by holding the Cmd/Ctrl key and clicking the mouse on that layer in the Layers palette.

9. If you use one particular style more than others, you can save it for easier access as a style in your styles palette. In the Blending Options, just under OK and Cancel you’ll see ‘Save Style’. Name your style and save it to find this new style in the Styles palette. Note: the style must be in its own layer.

10. Sometimes when you combine multiple images, there will be a bit of fringe around the edges of the composite images. Often you can hide this by going to Layers > Matting > Defringe. At the dialogue box, choose the default setting; it that doesn’t work, undo it, and try Defringe again at a setting of 2.

11) If you have too many layers, simply select the right layer by using the move tool (V). Right click the mouse over the layer and a drop down list will appear.

On the bottom of your layers palette, click the ‘create new layers set’ (looks like a folder), name the new layer set, and just drag the layers you like in that set. 14. If you want to duplicate your current layer, press Cmd/Ctrl J.

15. To bring up the Extract dialogue box, press Command-Option-X (Mac)/ Control-Alt-X (PC). Within the Extract dialogue box, switch to the Extract Edge Highlighter tool by pressing the letter “b.”, the Fill tool by pressing the letter “k.”, and change the Edge Highlighter’s brush size by holding the ] key to make it larger and the [ to make it smaller.

An audio console is comprised of an electronic device called a soundboard. This soundboard reroutes audio signals or makes changes to its level, this is called “mixing”. Depending upon the type of mixer that is being used. An audio console can mix many different analog and digital signals. Mixing consoles have been used for TV and radio shows for many years. As time has progressed, so has the development of the audio console. People use them in a recording studio, and broadcasting stations, as well as TV stations.

Each console includes multiple rotary control knobs, which control things such as gain, and trim or static. These knobs buffer the sounds, enabling a normal signal level. The console uses different devices such as input connectors, and tip ring sleeves to reduce any interference and to help balance the noise. Auxiliary send routing is a way to split an incoming signal to an auxiliary bus; they can be either a pre-fader or a post-fader, which is set by the auxiliary send control. Sounds are sent through an external processor, such as a reverb, and then rerouted back through another channel on the mixer.

Channel equalization of these signals separately boosts the range of the frequencies, such as bass, treble, and midrange. The larger consoles, that have 24 channels or more, usually have what is called sweep equalization in the bands of a parametric equalizer, which affects bandwidth as well as the frequency. The smaller mixing consoles will only have few equalization controls, if any at all.

Each subgroup or mixing router has an audio potentiometer, which is controlled a sliding volume control, called a fader. The fader adjusts only a specific channel and therefore only affects a distinct level of each signal from the microphone or audio source. In addition there are master output controls which contain a matrix routing section. Conversation is allowed by talkback controls to the performers in the studio wearing their headphones.

Digital mixers have become very popular since 1990, because of the versatility of DAWs rather than the analog. They are also made to reduce much of the extra noise that an analog console mixer has, because the digital consoles resistance to outside interference makes them the crme de la crme of audio consoles.

Some people say all you need is music in a song, however, when it comes to music, do the lyrics really matter? I have to be honest here and say that out of every 10 songs, only one song’s lyrics get to you. Combining lyrics with music is a whole another art in it self. If you can bring music and lyrics together in perfect harmony, you got yourself a song that is going to be there for the ages.

Lyrics to me don’t matter on a song but if you do have lyrics, make sure they are something that matter. Sometimes, especially the quality of rap lyrics have really gotten down. It’s just like anything else and I feel like rap music is reaching is tipping point. At least the rap music that we use to know that is why the lyrics don’t matter at all.

Their are so many songs I’ve heard over the years that I just couldn’t help but write down the best lines from them in a little notepad. It’s just something I could relate to and look at if things were a little off. Lyrics can be powerful and can be thought changing especially if heard at a certain time in your life or not. Their has been so many artists that have influenced me with their simple one-liners in their songs which has had nothing but a positive effect on my life.

After all, music is a gift that we all have been given to enjoy. Music has been around since the beginning of time and it is always going to be around us – hopefully. Regardless of what you like, if you feel it and it gets you going on an emotional level, it means it’s great music.

As long as the song and lyrics when combined together, sound great, than nothing matters. It’s all about perception and your percepetion and discretion is the only thing that matters. However, I must say, good beats and good rhymes is what makes a good song great.
