Drifter – Bringing Together Form and Function in a Simple T-Shirt
Drifter began in 2002 with the main purpose of combining three aspects – functionality, style, and comfort – into every article of clothing they produce. When Drifter’s designers begin a new project, they always start with the basic T-shirt design, and then break it down and completely rebuild it from the ground up. While doing this, they infuse it with their own style of art and creativity.
The Men’s FW 08 line of Drifter shirts includes eight long or short sleeved shirts that come in a variety of colors and designs. The two shirts from the clothing line that are long sleeved are the Chief and Scribe. Both feature the popular double layer design which is like having both a short sleeved and long sleeved shirt together in one. Short sleeved shirts in the series are the Seer, DOA, Glory, and Siren. The DOA design is white with a large graphic on the front which displays the words: “Our currency is flesh and bone,” an allusion to the Pink Floyd song, The Dogs of War.
Drifter’s Men’s SS 08 line of clothing features their popular Godspeed design which comes in both short sleeve and long sleeve. The shirts come in black and white and display their iconic eagle image. Also available is the grey Deta design, a simple V-neck T-shirt which is made from 100 percent cotton. The Trent design is a long sleeve button up collar shirt with a front pocket. Bully is a simple white T-shirt that comes in white only and is 100 percent cotton with a unique Drifter style image. It is a classic design, updated with Drifter’s own unique style and image. Other available designs include Venom, Slip, Based, Riders, the limited edition Badge of Honor, and the Brigadier hoodie.
Last to be discussed is the Women’s SS 08 line which presents a whole host of beautiful, unique designs that are sure to draw attention. First, there is a female variation of the classic Godspeed design which is white, available in long sleeves, and includes a gold eagle design. ‘Hey’ is a cute, yellow tank top design with a white image which is made of 100 percent cotton. Input is a double layer design which features a tank top over another shirt that is a bit larger. It is sleeveless and comes in steel and crystal grey. Other designs in the line include: Carine, Dawn Trailing, and Space Suit.
Drifter embraces simplicity, like that of the basic T-shirt and have worked toward perfecting this article of clothing, and channeling it into each and every one of their designs. Drifter clothing is available in both men’s and women’s fashions and is constantly changing and brining in new fans.
