Piano Chords

Getting yourself motivated to take piano lessons is a big accomplishment in itself. The piano is a wonderful instrument and will give you years of enjoyment.

Piano chords can ring home for a wide variety of people but you may be surprised to know that piano music is even being used to treat physical ailments today. It is known that music can help the emotionally disturbed but as for curing physical ailments, well this is just a breakthrough.

Definitely we would have all seen a piano with the keyboard, pedals and the piano bench. If you are shrewd enough you would have noted that there are white keys and black keys too. Many out of curiosity would have even pressed few keys to listen to sounds produced.

Each note plays a different sound, a different frequency. You are probably well aware of this. In order to really understand the piano, you have to learn the patterns of keys on the instrument itself.

Now let us see more details about the white keys and the black keys. The white keys are stretched horizontally covering the full length of the keyboard. It denotes the natural notes which are personified by the 7 letters of the alphabet (A-G).

There is a set pattern on the keyboard and if you look closely, you will notice that the black keys are group in sets of 2 and 3. This is to provide you with easy access during your songs. It would be a lot harder if there no were spaces.

Black piano notes are used as sharps or flats, depending on how you view them. A sharp would be a step up from the white key and a flat would be a step down.

Flat key is half note lower than the white key situated to its right. Apart from the functional knowledge of the different features of the piano, fingering or the use of the ten fingers to play the piano is very important. This can be achieved not just by reading or seeing but by sheer practice. Regular and constant practice every day is important to master the skills and get the musical notes right.
