The Art Of Belly Dancing In Turkey

by Paul Eastwood

In Turkey, belly dancing is a standard form of entertainment. Usually you will find belly dancing in night clubs or other such places. But often belly dancers are hired to perform at weddings and parties.

Belly dancing is a traditional in Turkey. But more than that, it attracts tourists from around the world. To Turkish people the dance is an art form that is enjoyed by all age groups.

In Turkey, belly dancing goes by the name Gobek dans. It has progressed through the ages to what we presently see as belly dancing. Many believe that belly dancing can trace its origins to Greece while many others point to Egypt as the country of origin.

Belly Dancing In Night Clubs

Many women earn money by belly dancing in Turkey. It is in many ways similar to a strip club in America. The men will stuff money into the costumes of the dancers while they watch them perform their dance. At times men will perform belly dancing, many times hopping up on the stage and dancing along with the belly dancers. This is a common occurance at parties and festivals.

Belly Dancing Is Known Around The World

There are a variety of accessories available for belly dancing. There are costumes, videos, jewelry and music available from many sources on the Internet. This unique dance has become known around the world as its own dance style. This kind of dance is very different from other dance styles because it displays its history and heritage. Belly dancing has some very interesting connotations that involve both religion and eroticism. Many people have their own opinions about belly dancing. Some view it as a terrible form of art, while others absolutely love it.

The Music Of Belly Dance

The typical belly dancer in Turkey is usually a woman who is quite shapely. The muscles of her abdomen are extremely well trained and able to perform amazing feats. The typical Turkish belly dancing music consists of bells and clanging sounds. A rhythm is generally played in the background to accompany the belly dancer. The music follows along with the intricate hip movements. Generally this dance is performed bare footed.

The Movements of Belly Dance

The body’s rhythm is the main focus of the belly dance. The belly dancer performs a complex set of movements that give the illusion of flowing and sensuality. The torso is the main area of movement in belly dancing.

Sometimes props are used during belly dancing. In Turkey many times a woman will dance with snakes and swords. Other times the woman will use swords and veils. These are very popular folk dances. Typically these props are seen as mystical items. The snake for example has been associated with symbols of male and female and also immortality.

Why English Grammar: How to Learn Well

by Brad Morgan

English grammar lessons are a key part in your study of the English language. To learn, you have to make an effort with special lessons.

ESL grammar lessons can be utilized in conjunction with mainstream lesson plans in order to create printable lessons that will help you greatly in your understanding, but understanding where to get these English grammar lessons is also important.

The first place you can go in order to find good English grammar lessons, exercises and feedback is the internet.

If you plan to study on your own, you can find a lot of good resources online, such as lessons, papers, tests, activities, articles, and more. This is a good option for those who can stay motivated by themselves and can commit to a course of study without structure.

However, human nature is such that most people are not going to be comfortable with this type of arrangement.

English grammar can be challenging, and people typically respond better when in a structured setting.

Adjectives are a good example of something people have trouble learning through traditional online lessons. Verbs can also be a problem, because different languages treat verbs differently.

If you are like many others who are learning English, self study may not be for you. You can find classes both online and in traditional classrooms that can help you out. Look online for a list of those best suited for you.

When choosing which English grammar lessons to try, look at your list and determine how each program can help you with your goals.

Any class can drill you on parts of speech and have you read out of a textbook. You want a class that teaches to your style of learning.

Are you more of a logical person that likes to proceed slowly from one thing to another, or are you more of an instinctive person more likely to pick something up by jumping in and doing it without too much thought beforehand?

Picking the right program is vital. Make sure you are aware of your learning style and choose a class that will compliment it.

Grammar can be a tough subject to tackle as it can be both challenging and tedious. Try a class that is interactive and fun so you will have the best chance of learning the material and completing the course of study.

Teaching Creative Writing To Children

by Zacharias Allred

Teaching creative writing to children is fun and rewarding. Kids naturally love to here stories read to them. As parents many times our children fall to sleep while being read to. Teachers can build a stimulating creative writing program in the classroom by giving the children a desire to write. Here are 5 steps to start a creative writing program.

1. Start small. Think of the most basic topic which is common to most of your students. Pets, parents and toys are some examples. Require the students to write 5 fictional sentences about the specified topic. You can have them write these 5 sentences as a story.

2. Dictation. As children have heard stories and are fond of them you can help them move a step further. To do this each student can dictate a story to you. You can either use a tape recorder or write it down while they are talking. In a later class the students can read their stories a loud to the class. This helps them make a connection between hearing a story and actually making one up.

3. Word processor. Kids take to computers very quickly and most of your students are probably already familiar with them. If possible have them start typing their stories on a computer as soon as possible. Using a word processor is much easier than writing by hand and so the writing will be easier. At first do not be too concerned with grammar, punctuation and spelling. After awhile you can gradually start showing the students how to make capital letters and use some of the grammar and spelling tools offered in most word processors.

4. Idea box. Bring a small box to class and tell the students that this box is only for ideas for stories. Let them know that others in the class will also have access to their story ideas so they may also want their own “idea boxes.”

5. Characters. Help the children come up with interesting characters in their writing. Show them stories from authors who are strong on character development. Make the main character likable. An author I like is Louis L’Amour. All of his main characters have high moral values and make honest choices. Of course they get the girl and are expert at everything they do.

Children often have active imaginations which is a necessary part of creative writing. You can get a creative writing program off the ground by first helping the kids come up with ideas that they can identify with. You can use things like dictation and word processors to make the writing easier. “Idea boxes” and character development are ideas that will get the children thinking more creatively. Have fun.

What Are The Problems With Arabian Belly Dancing?

by Paul J Eastwood

There is an assumption in western countries that belly dancing is an inappropriate and scandalous activity. This assumption is about as far from true and you could get. Many people will make unfair comments about belly dancing when they learn of young girls or teenagers performing this dance. It is a wonder why people have such a negative feeling about this art form.

The Costumes

It might be the costumes that are worn that have given the dance such a bad reputation. The costumes of some belly dancers are designed to be sensuous and sexy, but that is not true for all. Some dancers wear costumes that cover their entire body while they dance. They usual costume that is worn consists of a bra and skirt with embellishments added for decoration. In Egypt women are not allowed to show their skin, so many will wear full body suits underneath their costume to adhere to the law.

Even if a belly dancer doesn’t wear a full body suit under her costume the reality of the costume is not really as bad as many would have you believe. The more explicit costumes are a bra and skirt combination. Most of the women’s bodies are covered by this costume. It is a great deal more modest than a bikini and bikinis are not considered to be scandalous.

The History of Belly Dancing

So we have determined that the costumes should not be a source of scandal, what about the history? The origins of belly dancing is still unknown today. What we do know about this ancient art form is that it is a dance for women. It has been a dance that was performed for women by other women. Mother’s teach their daughters this ancient ritual and it has been passed down through the generations. In the past the only way a man could view belly dancing was if another man was performing. The dance has been considered a sacred ritual for women.

It might be the goddess worship aspect of belly dancing that has made it so controversial. The worship of the gods and goddesses has been deemed an immoral and indecent act. It might seem as though belly dancing was against men in general because of its practice for women. It is an art form that empowers women and embraces their inner strengths.

It is common for feminine worship and empowerment to be hidden and pushed down by society. In a world where women are supposed to be man like in their actions and behavior, something that explores the true femininity might be a problem. This beautiful and graceful art form should not be viewed as something scandalous or evil. It should be displayed for the celebration of woman that it is.

The Exciting World Of RC Hobbies

by Michael Castelli

It is not only children who find RC hobbies fascinating but some adults do as well. We will all have come across the term RC but not all of us fully understand just what it means. In this article we hope to provide an explanation of what RC is.

As we all known RC stands for remote control and this is where one can control one device using another which is not attached to it. It was in 1903 that the first remote control device was presented to the Paris Academy of Science by Leonardo Torres Quevada who had invented Telekino. This device was in fact a small robot which when electromagnetic waves were transmitted to it could execute certain commands.

The majority of remote control devices that are used in the home for say controlling the TV use an infrared beam light and it is this that commands the target device to carry out certain functions. However these devices need to be directly in line of sight of the target object and cannot be used at any great distance.

The difference with the remote control devices that are used in RC hobbies is that the radio frequency waves are used instead. Along with them not being in direct line of sight of the object that they are controlling they can actually work are far greater distances from each other as well.

There are four main components which are used for controlling remote control cars, boats and planes. These are the transmitter, receiver, motor and power source. The transmitter is the device that you hold and is what allows you to have control over a RC vehicles movement. It sends signals to the receiver in the RC vehicle and this in turn operates the motor.

In order for the motor to have power then the vehicle is fitted with either a rechargeable battery pack or regular batteries can be used. However, for some of the more advanced types of RC vehicles which can reach speeds in excess of 70 mph these are powered by either nitro methane or normal gasoline.

As well as remote control vehicles just being something to enjoy for a few hours on a warm summers day, some people will attend race meetings and to test their against others. Now you will find around the world numerous clubs have been set up for RC enthusiasts where they can meet and talk about the various models along with testing theirs against each others.

Although many people think RC hobbies are expensive, you can if you wish pick up a pretty good model for around $100 to start with. If you are considering getting involved in this particular hobby it is worth considering buying one that is already built rather than attempting to build your own initially.

Mark Turgeon Autograph Biography

by Mark Turgeon

I was eight years old, when I first received my first autograph ever by Dave Winfield of the New York Yankees.

As a kid I collected sports cards from baseball, football, hockey and basketball, but to get them signed by the athlete was another thing. I always enjoyed all sports from playing them and watching them on TV. I enjoy the sport of hockey the most and on my favorite team the Hartford Whalers. My official autograph collecting days started in Hartford, CT. I was a hardcore Whaler fan and would attend most home games and obtain autographs from the Whalers and the visiting teams.

Between the ages of 10 and 17, I collected hockey autographs in Hartford. Every time I met a new hockey superstar, I would get a rush. I obtained a massive collection of hockey autographs that consisted of pucks, cards, photos, sticks, and programs.

After the Hartford Whalers moved to North Carolina to become the Carolina Hurricanes, I began to have a great interest in collecting music autographs. I met many bands such as U2, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, that have toured throughout Connecticut, New York, Boston, and even Canada.

All genres of music has always been a passion to me. I had a great interest in obtaining autographs from various artist and bands in all genres.

I still get that same rush I used to get as a kid, only now I sell some of the items I obtain as a supplemental income. To learn more about me and to view my authentic Rock n? Roll signature exemplars, please visit www.sharkstreasures.com.

As of today, I currently live in beautiful Southern California and still continue to work with the best collectors and professional photographers in the Entertainment business. Throughout the years I have obtained thousands of signatures in sports, music, celebrity and along with some political. I have built a database of authentic signature exemplars and able to determine if an autograph is authentic or fake, based on collecting experience and cross comparisons. The market is loaded with fake autographs and it is really disgusting, because some people just don’t care. An autograph to me is a true memory or an artifact that should be well preserved for the future generations.

Collecting autographs has always been one of my biggest hobbies. I recently decided to finish my college degree studying Geography and GIS at California State University, Northridge. Nobody knows what the future hold, but autographs will always be a part of my life and I want to continue to supply the market with authentic pieces and educate people with my knowledge to help make decisions for buying and collecting autographs. All the Best Mark Turgeon

Tips for Purchasing Genuine Autographed Memorabilia on eBay.

by Mark Turgeon

The largest online auction website eBay, has thousands if not more autographs listed everyday for sale, but how do we know if they are authentic?

I. Check out the seller’s about me page to see what they are all about.

2. View the seller’s feedback rating to see if the customers are happy with past purchases of autographs.

Third, view their current auctions and prices of items listed. If they are too good to be true then it probably is.

IV. View if the seller is listing his or her items as private. In this case private auctions are most likely fake items all the time. These seller’s have something to hide and are not honest at all by being shady to list something as private.

V. An Authentic honest dealer has nothing to hide; they have great feedback and offer complete openness. Real dealers offer proof photos of the items being signed and even invest in their products by getting them authenticated by a third party authentication service such as PSA DNA.

Remember to do your research and find authentic signatures and do a comparison to one’s that are listed on eBay.

There are many good honest dealers out their in the world. Just remember the tips I written above and I am sure you will find that special authentic piece you’re looking for.

Are You Building Your Own Remote Control Race Car?

by Michael Castelli

Although many parents are happy to buy remote control race cars for their children, there are plenty of adults around who like to build their own as well. What you need to be aware of is that there is a major difference between the types of remote control race cars a parent can buy for their child and those which can be built.

In this article we are going to be taking a look at just some of the things that will be needed if you choose to build your own remote control race cars.

Firstly it is important that you decide the kind of engine you want in your remote control race car to power it. Most of the cars available for kids are powered by some batteries. However, when building your own remote control race cars you can either go for an engine where power is provided by packs of batteries or go for those that are working replicas of the ones found in the real car and are powered either by nitro-methane or gasoline.

However, when it comes to those powered by gasoline or nitro-methane they do have their pros and cons. Although a nitro-methane powered remote control race car is able to cover a straight line distance much more quickly than a gasoline powered one. Because the fuel weighs more, then getting the vehicle to go round bends or curves proves more difficult.

Another problem that you will face with running a remote control race car on nitro-methane is that it causes more wear and tear to the engine. Certainly if you were running such cars on such fuel continuously then you may find that the engine won’t last as long. Rather it is best for such remote control race cars they come up with a back up electronic engine and only use the nitro-methane one when the car is being raced.

Another difference between the electronic remote controls and those that are used specifically for racing is the quality of the other components on them. Certainly because high levels of stress are being placed on them the axles and wheels need to be of a much stronger construction. Along with getting firm wheels they should be lightweight as well as this will help to reduce the amount of drag on the vehicle as it is being raced. Your local hobby store or one that is online should be able to supply you with these components.

For those who are worried they are going to make mistakes constructing their own remote control race cars they can purchase kits instead. These kits can easily be got through a local hobby store or by searching online and will have everything you need to construct such a vehicle for yourself. However, you don’t have to limit yourself to using what is provided but can buy parts that are more expensive and of a higher quality so you can if you want customize the way the car looks.

The only disadvantage to building remote control race cars using kits is that the speeds won’t be similar to those that come from building your own. However using such kits for building remote control race cars helps you to avoid making mistakes and which in the long term could cost you time and money.
