Xperiences Guide to Flying Experience Days
This short guide covers a great selection of flying experiences such as Hot Air Balloon Rides, Flying Lessons in a Plane or Helicopter, Aerobatic Flights, Microlighting, Skydiving, Hang Gliding, and Sightseeing Flights including Helicopter Flights over London and many more These Flying Experiences are ideal as Birthday Gifts, Xmas Gifts or any other Gifts for special occasions.
Tandem Skydiving. Throwing yourself out of a plane at 10,000 feet might be considered utter madness. But if close friends start wondering aloud about your sanity, you can reassure them that you’ll be attached (literally) to an expert instructor and that, frankly, you’re in for an experience so exhilarating that you’ll probably never stop talking about it. Your experience normally begins with a thorough briefing on skydiving and landing techniques, before you go up in the plane. You’ll then be securely harnessed to your instructor, who will help you jump from the plane (or at least help you fall with style). You’ll get about 30 seconds of freefall, which is so completely incredible there’s no point in trying to describe it. Then your instructor will open the parachute and control your descent while you admire the view and try to come to terms with the adrenaline rush.
Hang Gliding. As a close cousin of paragliding you’ll usually find hang gliders launching side by side paragliders on a hot summer’s day as the thermals are rising. Hang Gliding involves hanging underneath a wing and controlling your direction and speed with the use of a bar and your body weight. If you have ever seen hang gliders launching themselves head first off a top of a hill and thought that you wouldn’t mind a go, then like a baby bird leaving the nest we can help you take those scary first few steps!
Aerobatic Flying. These experiences often take place in arguably the best aerobatic training aircraft in the world. You will receive a comprehensive briefing before your flight where you will be able to ask any questions you may have. Once airborne, your instructor will demonstrate a full aerobatic sequence for you to watch, learn and enjoy. They will then invite you to handle the controls of the aircraft (only if you want to!) so you can experience the sheer thrill and exhilaration of proper aerobatic flying. A unique experience never to be forgotten!!!!
Helicopter Rides. Enjoy a delightful passenger flight over the landmarks of London in a JetRanger helicopter or a Bell 206L-1 LongRanger. After a pre-flight briefing, you will take off for the tour, giving you a superb aerial view flying over the capital and surrounding countryside. Departing from the airport, sites you will probably encounter include Canary Wharf Tower, The Millennium Dome, Tower Bridge and HMS Belfast, St Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace and The Houses of Parliament. Go on and treat someone to this once in a lifetime experience…
Microlighting. If you want to experience the thrill of taking control and piloting a small aircraft then this is the experience for you. Microlighting is a great way to get yourself airborne and have a go at flying for the first time. After the instructor takes off and you have climbed to a safe height you will be allowed to take the controls. There is something really exhilarating about feeling the power and freedom of flight when you are in control of the aircraft
Hot Air Ballooning. A perfect gift – The ultimate treat – Fly away on a private balloon flight for two.The two of you can share simply the best time in your own specially chartered hot air balloon flight piloted by a top-flight professional pilot. Nothing quite compares to the serenity of ballooning. Enjoy flying over the most picturesque areas of the United Kingdom. There is no other way to experience such tranquillity and excitement at the same time.
Indoor Skydiving. Imagine a wind tunnel that could be used for testing the aerodynamics of an F1 racing car, turn it upright, jump onto the airflow and you are skydiving. It’s a proven concept operating in several countries to the benefit of the skydiving community and anyone else who wishes to taste the thrill of freefall in a completely safe environment. After check-in there’s a short class with a video brief and instruction, then it’s off to collect your flight gear. You and your group will enter the tunnel and take it in turns to fly… Go on – get skydiving…
Flying. Become the captain of an aircraft in just 30 minutes with tuition from a CAA qualified instructor. Upon arrival at the aerodrome you will normally be given a briefing on the principles of light aircraft flying. From there you are taken to the aeroplane for a general familiarisation of the cockpit layout and a rundown of the controls. After this it’s up, up and away for a 30 minute flight of a lifetime! If the instructor feels confident that his new student is ready, they will even be able to take the controls and get the thrill.
