No Matter Your Age, the EyeClops Night Vision Goggles Are Great
Basically, Jakks EyeClops Night Vision Goggles let you see in total darkness, for 90% less cost than traditional night vision goggles. Typically infrared night vision goggles cost $500 and up, and here you have Jakks offering night vision goggles for $80. At first, I couldn’t believe that they would work. Anyway, I ended up buying them for my 10 year old, Aiden. He is having a blast playing with them, and so am I.
Eye Clops Night Vision Goggles are made of kid-friendly materials (soft rubber) and the latest infrared, night-seeing technology that allows them to explore their world in the dark. These extremely affordable ($80) night vision goggles use an infrared light to illuminate the darkness, and they even contain a microscope that lets kids see another kind of invisible world, the microsopic world.
For one thing, it’s kind of weird that your vision comes from the center eyepiece mounted on your forehead like a third eye. What I mean to say is that normally you see things through your eyes, but the eyeclops “sees” through it’s 3rd eye that’s mounted about 4 inches up and to the left of your right eye. This is a bit disorienting when you first use the device, but my son got used to it pretty quickly.
Another thing is that the field of vision is much smaller than your normal, 180 degree field of vision, but I learned that that’s just one of the limitations of night vision itself, no matter what device you’re using.
My kids decided one night to put on their night vision goggles and scare us in the bed after we thought they had gone to sleep. I guess they got me back for messing with them and using their toy when it’s really theirs.
We haven’t had any trouble with the goggles, but because the depth perception is a bit difficult when they’re being used, I made sure to supervise my kids when they wanted to wear them outside.
On these goggles, there’s 2 night vision modes – one is 100% stealth (no one can see you) and the other one gives you better night vision but throws off a faint infrared light from the goggles themselves, so you’re not 100% invisible.
If you’re thinking about a cool toy for Christmas 2008, then Jakks EyeClops Night Vision Goggles are for you. At the very least, you’ll have fun scaring your kids in the dark or vice versa. Hey, you can even check on them when they’re sleeping without disturbing them by turning on the light.
All in all, I’m very pleased with Jakks Eyeclops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Goggles, and I think they’ll make a fantastic and fun gift for your kids for Christmas 2008. Check them out, and be confident that your kids will love them and they’ll learn a lot by having them.
