It’s well-documented that Americans are heavy users of the internet and that it has become the de facto source of information for the majority of them. The economy stinks and we all know it. The bills just keep piling up, but we need to still have fun. Hosting a bunco party does not have to be expensive, but you do need to plan.

In our fixer upper home we have to fix a thing or two before hosting bunco. A smart couple would plan ahead but we would wait to the last minute. Next party will be smarter! We are going to do a project every 3-4 months so we can save money and improve our home at the same time!

Hosting a Bunco party can leave you with a large amount of goods after the party is done. My wife over buys which is not a smart way to save money. Planning ahead when stores are having sales make a difference and some of the items can last for a few months. Again, buying items quarterly will take the sting out of one big purchase.

My theme of buying ahead is prevailing! I understand you can not buy lettuce two months before bunco, but you can buy olives, crackers, and non-perishable ingredients. The hobby of model trains and railroading has been round for some years. In all sense, its becoming one of the leading hobbies within the hobby industry. Being an avid Lionel Enthusiast for many years, needless to say, has added up to a vast collection of these trains. Some of my replicas go back a good many years. I would have to say my only frustration with this hobby, has been the lack of good material regarding the trains themselves, that is available. I am not referring to the History of the specific trains, but to the maintenance and repair of the various pieces. For years I have always had to find a good Lionel technician to do my technical work for me.

Unfortunately there are fewer and fewer reliable repairmen around, and they are getting harder to find, not to mention the cost involved. After having a very valuable piece of my Lionel collection in need of repair, out of desperation I began to search the internet for any help possible. That’s when I found the “Lionel Trains Service & Operational Manual CD”. I had not come across this before and with reservations I began to review it a little closer.

What I Like About It
Over the years I had stumbled upon various instructions and guides concerning the repairs but they were always incomplete. They would offer the very basics but there just never seemed to be enough to complete the job I needed to do. The very first thing on this advertisement that impressed me was, that first it was the same one the technicians were using. Those guys I was telling you about that are hard to find.

Secondly, it covered the periods right from 1902-1986. This covered my complete collection. The real bonus was, it was all on two CDs. Not a separate package for each year which would have ended up being very costly. An additional bonus was it came with Parts and Accessories manuals as well.

Thirdly, I love for the fact that it also provides vintage classic catalogs. I’m a collector and I would love to print them out for my collection.

There really wasn’t anything that was left out that I would need. I was really impressed with the completeness of what The Lionel Manuals were offering.

What I Didn’t Like About It.
The overall information in the advertisement was not over done. It explained exactly what was being offered. I was a bit concerned about the few spelling errors that were found in the content of the advertisement. Would this also be reflected in the manuals, hurting their accuracy? Then I realized that it was most unlikely that the authors of the manual wrote their own advertisements. So I didn’t give it much more thought.

Conclusion:
After reading all that the Lionel Manuals had to offer I was convinced that I wanted to purchase them. It is a great investment and a small price to pay to learn how to repair and restore my own model trains

If you love Nip/Tuck, you’re sure to have anxiously waited for season 5 of the popular show. The season was originally to be 22 episodes, but because of the writers strike, only the first 14 were shown. However, those 14 were explosive and backed full of new twists, new characters, and lots and lots of sex. However, it wasn’t all good for the boys and their friends.

The fifth season begins with Sean and Christian moving their practice from Florida to California. As one would expect, theres no shortage of need for plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills, but theres just one little issue for the two. No one knows who they are. To answer this, they enlist publicist Fiona McNeil. She wastes no time in getting them a part as technical advisors on a television show based on, would you believe it, plastic surgeons!

As they work on Hearts n Scalpels, they meet the shows producer and members of its cast, including Aidan Stone. The soap consumes a good amount of time in the beginning episodes of the season. While the self-centered, over the top Aidan is very entertaining, there are times when it often seems a bit too much. It might have been okay if the story didnt follow some of the TV crew off-set, but it does. When the studio executive in charge of the show heads off to see a dominatrix to de-stress, I wasnt sure if the season was moving in the right direction or jumping the shark. Worse still, I wasnt sure if I even cared about these characters. The surgeons and there shenanigans seemed to be designed to shock us, but they didnt help to round out these new characters or move the existing characters forward. While many things happened to the characters, far between did they show any lasting change. Even those who moved on to new relationships, such as Matt and Kimber, still seemed to be the same characters, unmoved by the events in their lives.

That is, in fact, is the main problem with season 5, if not the entire show. The characters dont really move forward in development. Christian, in a particular, doesnt really change from his womanizing ways. He continues to jump from woman to woman with little feeling for them, it seems. While this has been the status quo for a few seasons, it seems particularly apparent in season 5.

Celebrity guests, of course, have a big part in season 5, including Rosie ODonnell, Jennifer Coolidge, and Jai Rodriguez. In fact, they were sometimes the best reason to watch an episode. What I want to see is the big names they pull in for season 6. The season cliffhanger, also, does make me want to watch the next season, if only the start, to see how any open storylines are resolved. Although it was a disappointment overall, Nip/Tuck is still an fascinating show to watch. However, there are only eight episodes scheduled to air in 2009 (the rest of season 5), so dont expect much news for the next year.
