New Comedies That Are Funny: Watch Satelite TV
With the year 2008 almost finished Hollywood presented us with at least three hundred films. Out of all these movies, something like 70, or so, would be classified as comedies. Let’s name a few of the best comedies to see out there for you.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: As the title suggests, this is the next in the sequence to the big hit film Madagascar. The four animal heroes, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo are attempting to leave Madagascar, and go back to New York’s famous Central Park Zoo, which is the only home they know. As oppossed to going home, with the Penguins leading them astray, they now are headed to have more adventures first.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Complete stoner Dale unfortunately has just viewed a bad police officer, and a powerful drug dealer, kill someone. They see him witness the crime. Knowing they’ve seen him, he is so shaken he throws down his joint, a rare blend namend pineapple express, and takes off. The weed is so special, that the bad guys can track it. The “fun” is on, as Dale and his dealer Saul are on the run.
HAMLET 2: Dana Marshz, formerly a small time actor, has found himself teaching high school theatre to uninterested students. The school loses a building due to destruction, so the administration decides the theater curriculum will get the axe. With a challenge now in front of him, he sets out to save the program by producing Hamlet 2, an original interpretation of the Shakespeare classic, which he writes himself.
GET SMART: Agent 86, aka Maxwell Smart is here again, “and loving it”. The evil organization (KAOS) vs the good guys (CONTROL), the shoe phone, and the cone of silence. This is a modern day version that looks back at this classic spy spoof TV series.
TROPIC THUNDER: With a collection of acting greats this outrageous flick is a claasic parody of popular war films. In order to inspire his spoiled actors to make a first rate war movie, the desperate director into the jungle, and leaves them on thier own. His theory is to overwhelm them into producing a war classic, which will be caught on hidden cameras in the area. When the director walks over a land mine and is blown apart, the actors are now truely on their own, and they think there acting, when things start to get very real. Stars include Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Cruise.
STEP BROTHERS: When two 40 year olds, who still live with their single parents, find themselves having to live in the same room because their parents have wed, big problems loom. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell as the key players, and this has the makings for lots of laughs. This seems like a must see for a good laugh in 2008.
FORGETTING SAHRAH MARSHALL: Ater suffering a devastating break up with Sarah, a TV actress, Peter eventually decides to go on a trip to Hawaii to start anew and forget about Sarah. Of course, when he checks into the resort hotel, the first people he sees are his ex and her new boyfriend, a rock star super stud. This sets up as a classic romantic comedy.
ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, a couple of energy drink promoters, are looking at jail time because they binged, and trashed the company truck. The option to get out of going to prison is by doing communuty service. They are assigned to mentor some kids in a community service program. A good situation for some good laughs.
ZACK AND MIRI MAKE A PORNO: The bills are piling up and Zack and Miri, roomies who have been friends since grade school, need to make some money. What’s their solution? That’s obvious, make a dirty movie. As one can expect this is a perfect enviornment for a great comedy.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Heavy pot smoker Dale Denton has just seen a bad police officer, and a powerful drug dealer, kill someone. He was spotted witnessing what’s gone down. Understanding that he has been seen, he unwittingly throws down his joint, a unique version called pineapple express, and runs. The marijuana is particular enough, that the bad guys can trace it. The “fun” is on, as Dale and his dealer Saul are deparately hidding from the bad guys.
The movies noted above, and thousands more, are availiable to buy, get as a rental, or can be down loaded to your computer.
