Every parent wants the best for their children and part of this is often music. However, it`s not a good idea to simply hire the first piano teacher you come across, there are some things you really should consider first. It`s important to realize that not all musicians are able to teach their art and not all music teachers are good at it . . . don`t waste your money on mediocre ones. Instead, do your research and make sure that the person you choose to teach your children piano is someone truly qualified to do so. There are a few other things to consider, as well, so we`ve compiled this list for you.

Family

Readiness. Is your child ready to learn? Even the best piano teacher will have troubles teaching a child who is adamantly opposed to learning piano. Younger children will probably be more interested in learning, while older ones might rebel at anything that seems like work. Gauge the interest in piano carefully before you begin.

Practice. Do you have what it takes to ensure your child practices daily? It`s not going to help much if you find yourself ignoring practice and letting your kids watch TV instead of doing their homework. Unfortunately, kids tend to avoid this even if they enjoy the piano lessons, so you need to be ready to urge them to play.

Piano. If you want your little one to start tickling the ivories, you`ll be needing a piano in the house for practice times. Fate has a penchant for irony, it seems. I was perfectly happy working as a graphic designer at a mundane advertising agency just a few months back, and I had nothing to do with fairs or festivals. Okay, not happy, but the pay was adequate.

Let me introduce myself first. I’m Rita Horowitz, a gal in her early twenties. Like so many of my peers, I went straight to a job after graduating so I could pay off my student loans. Deep down inside, though, my passion has always been woodcarving.

Many attribute my fondness for it to my grandfather, and to a certain extent, I agree with them. I grew up seeing my grandfather work his magic with mundane pieces of wood. As I looked on with fascination one day, he noticed me and began to teach me the basics of carving.

I’ve been carving ever since then. First within supervision of my grandfather, as no sane adult would leave a kid with a sharp object, and then by myself ever since he passed on. But my parents convinced me that there was no financial stability in woodcarving, and that urged me to apply my artistic talents elsewhere. Hence, I ended up in an ad agency as a graphic artist.

So where’s the irony I was talking about? Well, for reasons I will not disclose here, I have never enjoyed going to Florida fairs and festivals. I avoided it as much as possible, until an old friend from college asked me to visit her in her booth. You guessed it; it was to be in a fair.

A few weeks later, I found that I was going to my third fair already. And this time, I had with me a big batch of my carved pieces. I had realized that fairs were a good place to showcase my art and let other people see my works. I’ve gotten good feedback for my initial attempt, and I now sell my woodcarvings with my friend. We share a booth, and I’m liking all the praise I’m getting.

Everybody loves to laugh, and a good comedian is always a hot-selling ticket. Jeff Dunham has millions of fans both in the United States and abroad. He and one or more of his rambunctious pals have delighted audiences in hundreds of theatres and comedy clubs as well as in guest spots on television shows such as Hollywood Squares, Entertainment Tonight and Good Morning America. His first television special in 2006, “Arguing With Myself” won him even more recognition. Here the audience got to meet some new members of the cast: Bubba J, a Good Old Boy into Nascar and beer, and Sweet Daddy D, a P.I.M.P., (Playa In Management Position).

In 2007, “Jeff Dunham: A Spark of Insanity” introduced us to Achmed the Dead Terrorist, who is one dead guy you won’t forget! In 2008 Jeff and his pals had a Christmas special, which aired on Comedy Central and got the highest rating of any telecast in the network’s history. When you meet Jeff and some of his “dummies”, you may forget that just one guy is doing all the talking. Jeff Dunham’s talent is such that has been voted “Ventriloquist of the Year” two times, an honor no one else has achieved. One of the reasons for his allure is that his really smart “dummies” are so believable. One critic has remarked that “they have more personality than some people I know!” Go see them in action and you will undoubtedly agree.

With astounding energy, Jeff Dunham still manages to put on about 250 performances a year in theatres and comedy clubs all over the world. Presently, the available high definition medium is Blu-ray. Although the majority of the population is aware of this, they are not knowledgeable on the actual history.

Blu-ray was initially one of the answers to the need for HD discs. When HDTVs were introduced in the late 90s, a format was needed to go along with them.

The market did not then offer any medium that could store large amounts of data, which was necessary for HD. Thankfully, there was a relatively easy solution to solving the problem, which was utilizing a blue laser.

Shuji Nakamura is responsible for inventing the blue laser diode. This was an efficient version of the already available blue lasers. Blue laser diodes are vital components of both Blu-ray and HD DVD discs.

Two large corporations, Philips and Sony, came together to develop the Blu-ray disc. Before arriving on the name Blu-ray, they invented other predecessors known as DVR Blue and Ultra Density Optical.

The prototypes were further developed and perfected until the beginning of 2002. It was then that the Blu-ray Disc Association was launched by less than ten initial members.

The introduction of Blu-ray may have been a bit premature, as it was two years later that the format actually was finished. Even then, it took one more year for everything to be complete.

Millions of dollars were invested in the Blu-ray project, and the return was exceptional. Blu-ray is the only high definition format and is expected to hold that position.
