Jeff Dunham says he has never had a “real job”, but he’s been in the business of comedy for almost thirty years. Born in Texas in 1960, he found his calling, without a doubt, while still in college at Baylor University. That is where he introduced Jose Jalapeno, the morose pepper-on-a-stick whose laconic one-liners are just getting better as time goes on. When Johnny Carson had him on stage in 1990 and he brought down the house, his career was established. He has received the Lifetime Achievement Award (1998) and has been named the Funniest Male Stand-Up Comic at the American Comedy Awards, an honor he shares with names like Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy and Robin Williams.

Jeff Dunham has millions of fans both in the United States and abroad. He and one or more of his rambunctious pals have delighted audiences in hundreds of theatres and comedy clubs as well as in guest spots on television shows such as Hollywood Squares, Entertainment Tonight and Good Morning America. His first television special in 2006, “Arguing With Myself” won him even more recognition. Here the audience got to meet some new members of the cast: Bubba J, a Good Old Boy into Nascar and beer, and Sweet Daddy D, a P.I.M.P., (Playa In Management Position).

In 2007, “Jeff Dunham: A Spark of Insanity” introduced us to Achmed the Dead Terrorist, who is one dead guy you won’t forget! In 2008 Jeff and his pals had a Christmas special, which aired on Comedy Central and got the highest rating of any telecast in the network’s history. Jeff Dunham has been gaining more and more applause world wide, and he’s always adding to his cast of “characters”. If you go see him live or get one of his DVD’s, you will probably meet Walter the Curmudgeon, or Bubba J, the all-time redneck. There’s also a purple sorta-people-thing who scraps with everybody, and Sweet Daddy D, the P.I.M.P. (He’s suited up in green and purple, and that’s “Playa in a Management Position” to you! He’s Jeff Dunham’s ‘manager’.)

When you meet Jeff and some of his “dummies”, you may forget that just one guy is doing all the talking. Jeff Dunham’s talent is such that has been voted “Ventriloquist of the Year” two times, an honor no one else has achieved. One of the reasons for his allure is that his really smart “dummies” are so believable. One critic has remarked that “they have more personality than some people I know!” Go see them in action and you will undoubtedly agree.

With astounding energy, Jeff Dunham still manages to put on about 250 performances a year in theatres and comedy clubs all over the world. Everybody knows somebody like Walter, or maybe Bubba J, or any of the others.
