Why Horse Racing Is Exciting
People have made betting on them into more or less a hobby. The feel of the track alone will have you coming back for more even if you never bet a dime. But, why not love the track, love the horses and have a chance at the bucks, too? Trying your hand at horse racing may not be as hard as you think!
There is so much excitement at the track. First of all you have the sounds of the crowd, the announcer, the starting horn, the opening of the gates, the ponies as they clip clop around the track, the sound of excitement literally permeates the air and becomes almost enthralling and engulfs you and draws you into it. You cannot help but become excited in this atmosphere. Then there are the many smells. Perfume, body odor, beer, food, money, even the aroma of horse manure adds to the excitement that is the racetrack.
Betting on horses at the track is like sneaking out your window when you were a kid or getting into that cookie jar left right there on the kitchen counter. It’s one of those things where you reckon you really shouldn’t do it, but you absolutely cannot resist! Horse racing has been around since the 1600′s, so rest assured you won’t be the first or the last to crave the rush you’ll get when your pick takes it out front and pounds the track to the winner’s circle.
Betting on a horse race is going to be one of those things that you know you really shouldn’t do. You think maybe you should save your money for other things. But, what’s life worth if you don’t take a few risks? Have a little fun?
One thing you’ll need to realize is that betting on horse racing is unlike any other kinds of betting. Betting on a horse takes a lot of time and observation. You won’t be able to make a certain equation and use that same method every time to win. This isn’t like the Vegas casinos. These are live and breathing creatures who may at any time suffer an injury or some other sort of problem that may keep them from performing their best. Don’t forget that the jockey is only human and can have the same kinds of things happen to him.
What you didn’t bank on was the fact that the night before, that horse didn’t rest well. He had a tummy problem or some other annoying problem that kept him from resting. Or maybe the jockey isn’t quite up to par that day. Maybe, he has a head cold or allergies. Most anything like these minor complications could result in that horse not taking off and busting the beat like he normally does. There lies the gamble!
Even though there is that chance of your horse not taking the winner’s cup, you have to realize that he may. You may walk away from that race a lot richer than you were when you went in. You will have that big and proud feeling of belonging to something elite and special. Knowing how to call o good horse takes skill.
If you decide to try your hand at betting on horse racing, take your time getting into it and bet responsibly. Don’t bet your life savings away! Bet to make a little back and enjoy the race. Nothing in the world compares to the feel at a track. The smell of the horses, the sound of the crowds, and the hub bub of all the excitement makes it worth going.
