There are six primary rules that must be followed in any airsoft games.

If the gear or body is hit, the player is out. Hits to the weapon do not count. When the player is hit, he yells out “I’m hit” and raises his arms up high. After hit the player must walk straight to the safe zone. Friendly fire does count as a hit. After hit, talking to other players is not allowed.

Unlike in paintball, no noticeable markings are left by the pellets, honour system is often used to determine a hit. The pellet’s impact usually is felt, but at times, when over a great distance, or when the player is distracted or moving, the player may not notice being hit, thus marshals or referees are needed in the game.

The major forms of airsoft games are:

Team Death Match. Two teams play to eliminate each other out. Players keep track of the number of their kills and at the end of the game, teams must combine the number of their kills. Whoever got the most kills wins.

Capture the Flag. Teams must retrieve their opponent’s flag. Whichever team manages to bring the opposing team’s flag to their base wins.

Assassination. Two teams of equal number of players must select a captain. The captain is tied to an immobile object such as trees or fence. The objective of the game is to eliminate the other team’s captain.

King of the Hill. One team will be defending the hill, while the other the attacks it. The game ends when the base is successfully defended, or if the attackers overcome the hill.

The players may use their own airsoft guns, magazines and armours and other equipments, but there are also play scenarios when the type of equipments to be used is provided. These guns fire non-metallic pellets either through spring power, compressed gas or electric means.

Spring-powered guns operate by pulling back back the slide (pistols), bolt (rifles), or the grip on a shotgun, which in turn compresses the spring and makes the gun fire a single shot. The major advantage of using this type is that it can be fired without depending on an external source of power, unlike the gas and electric models.

Electric guns come in many forms such as automatic and hybrid guns. Electric-powered weapons work using a rechargeable battery which drives internal motors to shoot a pellet.

Gas-powered guns, or the classic airsoft guns, use a direct flow of C02 gas to power the gun’s mechanism, allowing the gun to fire in a fully automatic mode.

It’s good to have a show that the entire family can sit and watch together. From 1979 to 1985, the CBS network broadcast the Dukes of Hazzard and it became one of the most popular shows ever. There were seven seasons of car chases and various adventures set in the fictional Hazzard County in Georgia.

The show’s stars were Tom Wopat as Luke Duke and John Schneider as Bo Duke, two cousins who lived with Uncle Jess, portrayed by Denver Pyle. The family had got into trouble running moonshine and were in conflict with a corrupt County Commissioner in the shape of Boss Hogg, played by Sorrell Booke. Hogg’s biggest problem was his County Sheriff, Rosco P.Coltrane, played by James Best. Roscoe wasn’t the sharpest pencil in the box.

The female perspective was supplied by younger cousin, Daisy Duke, played by Catherine Bach. She was pretty but she was as tough as the boys. One of the most popular features of the Dukes of Hazzard was almost another character. Luke and Bo’s car, a customized 1969 Dodge charger named The General Lee, became the most recognized car in the world. It had a Confederate Battle Flag painted on the roof and it raced around the county at high speed with the windows open and the doors welded shut. The car was put through its paces in every episode and more than 100 General Lee’s were used.

In addition to the regular cast, there were several guest appearances of note including Jonathan Frakes of Star Trek fame. Other guests on the Dukes of Hazzard included Lance LeGault, Ernie Hudson and Henry Gibson. An impressive list of singers also appeared as themselves, such as Loretta Lynn, Roy Orbison, Tammy Wynette and Hoyt Axton. Country star Waylon Jennings sang the theme song and also narrated the series.

The show is still fondly remembered today and fans like to gather and reminisce. The largest celebration is the annual two-day Dukefest, held at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville. Versions of the General Lee still in existence always attract a crowd when they are put on show.

Spin offs from the original show have also kept the interest going. Two made for television movies were made, the first being The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion in 1997 followed by The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood in 2000. A feature film was released in 2005. Simply titled The Dukes of Hazzard, it starred Johnny Knoxville as Luke and Seann William Scott as Bo.

A musical revolution occurred in the 1950s, courtesy of Rock ‘n’Roll and Elvis Presley music in particular. Born in 1935 in Mississippi, Elvis grew up listening to country music, gospel and the blues. This mix had a profound influence on him. He sang and played guitar from a young age and destiny called when he walked into the Sun Record studios to record in 1953.

The young singer proceeded to the RCA label and the radio DJs took notice of this new sound. The live concerts stunned young audiences, particularly the girls who screamed at their loudest. Elvis had the looks and an incredible voice, perfect for singing up tempo rockers and ballads. His breakthrough single was Heartbreak Hotel, which he received a co-writing credit for. It reached number one in 1956 and the music of Elvis Presley was here to stay on both sides of the Atlantic.

The song writing partnership of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller provided the next number one with Hound Dog. The chart topping hits kept coming in the 1950s, including Don’t Be Cruel, Love Me Tender, All Shook Up, and Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear. The films that Elvis made also provided some success, including Jailhouse Rock. Three great musicians contributed to the early Elvis Presley music, providing the beat and the rhythm. Scotty Moore played guitar, Bill Black was on double bass and D.J Fontana was the drummer.

The 1960s brought more hits with Are You Lonesome Tonight, Return to Sender and Wooden Heart. In the 1970s, there was The Wonder of You, You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me, Burning Love and Way Down. Musical trends came and went through the years but Elvis fans stayed loyal, clamoring for tickets to his spectacular live shows.

The back catalogue also contains the soundtracks from the many Elvis movies. His first film was in 1957 when he made Loving You. Other films include King Creole, G.I Blues, Kid Galahad, and Fun in Acapulco. A TV Special provides another soundtrack of Elvis Presley music and a DVD. The show was known as the Elvis Presley ’68 Comeback Special. Elvis is seen in peak physical condition and looked fantastic in a black leather suit. He sang and played guitar with his old buddy, Scotty Moore, in front of a small intimate audience. The show’s finale is his moving song, If I Can Dream.

One of Elvis’s abiding passions was his religious faith and his love of gospel music. He recorded many gospel songs over the years and these have been gathered together on the Elvis Ultimate Gospel cd. Tracks include How Great Thou Art, You’ll Never Walk Alone, and Crying in the Chapel. Elvis Presley music is also associated with Christmas. Some of these records are on the Elvis Presley Christmas Duets album, and include O Come All Ye Faithful with Olivia Newton John, Blue Christmas with Martina McBride, and White Christmas with Amy Grant.

The legend of Elvis lives on and this was apparent in 2002 when one of his largely forgotten songs was given a new lease of life. Elvis had recorded A Little Less Conversation for the movie Live a Little, Love a Little in 1968. A re-mix dance version was released in 2002 and was a number one hit in many countries and has featured in several films and TV commercials.

I know that I am a colourful character, maybe because I am always surrounded by colour and music. When you paint, your colour choices are important. They help to bring about the mood you are trying to convey. These can completely change your painting, giving the impression of heat or even a cold feel to them.

Colour affects us all, in any number of ways and we probably all favour certain colours, which please our senses. Sometimes too, accordingly, you can create the illusion of a feeling of space.

The colours we choose in our own domains make or break the feel of our living space. Mostly people want a relaxed feel, so are more likely to opt for pastel shades like blues, mauves and pale greens.

If you are an emotional person like myself, you will love using all the brightest mixes of reds, gorgeous oranges and glowing yellows and golds to obtain intense vibrancy. This can evoke the feeling of heat to your art. Making your art interesting to the eye.

Keeping your acoustic guitar in tune is very important and should be tuned every time you play, whether you are play for fun or doing a show. A guitar that is out of tune is not fun to play, so take a few extra minutes and tune your guitar and you will be rewarded. When you are a beginner learning the importance of acoustic guitar tuning can be a bit frustrating, but well worth learning and doing it in the correct manner.

For acoustic guitar tuning with an electronic tuner, sit down and place the tuner on either a stool or table next to your seat. Then pluck the first string. The tuner’s microphone can sense which string is being tuned. You will know how close you are to the right pitch by the indicator on the tuner. It also indicates if you are sharp or flat. Utilize the tuning key to adjust the guitar string until it indicates that you are in tune.

Keep in mind that one always tunes up, which means going from looser to tighter till its in tune. If it becomes too tight, don’t just unwind it a little bit to try to improve it (called tuning down). It works far better to give the string some play and then start tightening it again till its right. When you tune up, not only are your results more accurate, but you also help the string hold its tuning longer.

If you dont purchase an electronic tuner, you still need to have a reference for pitch when playing acoustic guitar. Acoustic guitar tuning is a bit like driving. You don’t have to understand the internal combustion engine to drive a car, and you don’t have to understand music theory to tune your guitar.

Then proceed with your acoustic guitar tuning as follows:

(1) Once the low E string (sixth string) is in tune, play it on the fifth fret, and then pluck the open fifth string. Adjust the the tone of the fifth string as necessary until the two notes match. (2) Move up to the fifth string. Playing it on the fifth fret, tune the open forth string. (3) Similarly, adjust the tone of the third string while playing the fifth fret of the fourth string. (4) For the next note, play the third string on the fourth fret (not the fifth) and tune the second string. (5) Tune the open high E string, comparing it to the tone of the second string, fifth fret.

If you’re just starting out with acoustic guitar tuning, you may want to ask someone at the music store when you purchased your guitar to show you how to do acoustic guitar tuning the proper way. Then just keep practicing until you’re comfortable with the process. It takes time and practice to learn to do acoustic guitar tuning, especially by ear.
