Lastly, you can give your brain a work out. This activity though may show results after a certain period of time but you would be able to maximize your brains capacity to think by doing this. Don’t wait till it’s days before the planned date for the test arrives. Train your brain effectively and it will show you results that are beyond your expectations.

Another thing here, if you really are that interested in getting a high score in that test, then try taking tests online to see how far your brain has gone after doing what’s mentioned above. And you’ll definitely be glad with the results.

Like most of the new generation of game consoles, the Nintendo wii is much more than just a games machine. Sure the games are probably what attracts most people to the Nintendo wii but it can do many other thing besides.

You can watch movies on it, browse the internet, download games, upload photos and even communicate with your buddies. Of course this presupposes that the machine is connected to the internet but nevertheless, your humble games console can connect you to the rest of the world and allow you to have sophisticated communications with them. Oh and you can play a few games too.

One feature that is completely unique to the Nintendo wii is the mii channel. This article will go into details about what the mii channel is and the fun of creating miis.

When the wii boots up, your tv screen will show a bank of smaller TV screen images. These are known as channels. You can select different channels to do different things. In the case of a mii, you select the mii channel.

I’d surmise that you don’t have to be Einstein to work out what the mii channel is all about. It’s about you ! Or rather how you look in the wii world. A mii is merely your alter ego in the wii community.

You can alter the height and weight of the Mii but the most detailed changes are reserved for the face.

This can be a lotta fun as you tinker with your ideal character. Should it have a hippy feel to it or maybe the bald look. Maybe you’ve always had a hankering for a big afro hairdo. Indulge all your hair fantasies. You can even deck your character out with facial hair and accessories like glasses and jewelry.

It’s all a bit of fun, but it can give your game play a bit more personality and originality, especially when you are playing your buddies at a wii party.

Miis, being the sociable creatures that they are can mingle too. This basically means that they can pop up on other peoples Nintendo wii consoles and feature in games. This is good for adding an extra touch of originality to your game play. You can also get ideas for new wii characters by meeting mingling miis from other wii owners.

Paper Mache – This is a technique achieved by ripping up newspaper and then mashing it with water. You then end up with a soggy pulp. This being so, you can then mould it more or less into any shape.

You have to get it to the wet stage before glue can be applied to it. Once you have managed to form the shape you might need, you proceed by leaving it to dry naturally. Once it has been dried you can apply a primer to this, a bit like you do with wood, before you actually paint it.

This is beneficial, as if you use this medium, it is light, so useful for creating so many things and is very strong.

Sugar Cane is paper made from the actual husk of the sugar cane. It comes in many colours and you can tear it, even though it is thick and fibrous. Good for paper mache, because it is very absorbent, but it is also used as a surface to be drawn on.

Gesso is a very useful medium, being a type of glue. What is the consistency? Usually a mix of plaster, whiting, white pigment, or chalk.

This gesso, you will find, will make a seal on your surface which, you ought to discover, is reflective too, better as the canvas doesn’t roll.

Impasto is a surface which is textured and paint strokes make impressions on it with their bristles. Impasto itself is made by using a palette knife or paintbrush and then filling them with paint to be put on to the canvas. This creates layers of paint.

Pigment is the actual substance used to colour the paint or dye. Very finely ground down particles make up the paint medium. Many are made synthetically. Years ago they came from plants, animals and minerals.

Embossed – This is a pattern which has been marked or stamped on to the surface and in some cases carved. It can also be used with metal and a hammer.

What are Fixatives? This is a way of keeping your painting clean and in good condition, either by brush on or aerosol methods.

Positive and Negative Shapes – If you take the time to consider the shapes inside a painting or drawing, they fall into two categories, positive and negative. The positive shape will be the main parts or objects.

Whatever you have bordering the positive, will be the negative shape. However, you need to work equally on both sections to reach a successful conclusion.

Grid is when you draw square boxes on to a card backdrop for still life drawings. This makes it much easier to decide where the shadows and shapes should be positioned on your drawing.

Acrylic Retarder is used to lengthen acrylics open drying time. Maximum use of 10% with acrylic is recommended. This is pretty handy when shading or blending in Wet in Wet techniques and it helps to combat skin forming on your palette.

Acrylic Gloss Varnish – This fluid acrylic medium has the same resin as Acrylic Artist Colour. When it is mixed with the colours, it stretches them and increases their flow, transparency and luminosity. Thus making it easier for blending. It increases the flexibility of your brushstrokes and is perfect for quick drying glazes.

In was back in 1904 in Horfield, Bristol that Archibald Alexander Leach was brought into this world. Most people know him now as Cary Grant. His childhood was fairly normal for a middle class family in England but tragedy was to strike his home when he was only 9 as his mother fell gravely ill with a mental condition. When he turned 14, he left school and joined a comedic troupe which was led by Bob Pender after lying about how old he was and signing his father’s signature.

With Bob Pender, Cary was able to develop a number of entertainment talents like pantomime as ell as acrobatics which would become useful later on. All over England the troupe toured and while he was enjoying it, he felt he was destined for something more. His luck quickly changed and along with 6 others from the group (7 boys in total), he was sent off to Broadway to be part of the musical entitled Good Times.

By 1931, he chose to leave the troupe and made his way out to California where he was able to get a screen test at Paramount Pictures. It was at this time that he was to change his name to Cary Grant because it was simpler and more sophisticated. He debuted on the big screen in the movie This is the Night which appeared in 1932.

Mae West fell in love with Cary grant and his on-screen charm made him the perfect choice for her movies. Within a year, Cary Grant was in the movie ‘I’m No Angel’ as well as ‘She Done Him Wrong’. However it would not be until 1935 that he was to appear in the movie ‘Sylvia Scarlett’ and finally get his big break along side his co-star, Katherine Hepburn.

Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant made the perfect on-screen duo. It was in 1937 that his contract with Paramount expired and as was customary at the time he chose not to resign with any one studio but rather pick and chose the movies he would star in. It was with Katherine at his side that Cary would create some of the best comedies of his career.

Cary Grant would eventually retire from making films when he turned 62 and instead focus on family. He wanted to be a father and a husband and while he may have been a charmer on the big screen, his 5 marriages proved that off screen, it wasn’t so easy. He ended up having only one child, a daughter whom he had with his 3rd wife. In 1986, Cary grant had a serious stoke and passed away leaving behind him a large and very loving fan base that still enjoy watching his movies today.
