Wrist tattoos are quickly becoming one of the most popular ways to customize your body! From Hollywood A-listers like Victoria Beckham and Lindsay Lohan to ordinary people such as you and me!

Favorite designs for women include stars, fairies, flowers and rosaries. For men, favorite designs include flames, Celtic designs, stars and tribal tattoos. For women, favorites include stars, fairies, flowers and rosaries.

But the important thing to remember about wrist tattoos is that they are permanent and you need to be sure of what you’re doing before you get one! Here are 3 things you need to think about.

First, the pain factor! It’s just common sense that the wrist is quite a painful place to have a tattoo. Tattoos are drawn with needles, so somewhere without a lot of skin for cussioning is going to hurt! If you aren’t good with real pain, or if it’s your first tattoo, maybe you should think somewhere on your body that has a little more flesh!

Tattoos on areas where the skin is thinner will take longer to heal. They may also need to be “refreshed” more often to keep the design clear.

Secondly, wrist tattoos (particularly those with stars) were traditionally associated with the gay and lesbian communities. This isn’t the case as much now, but before you get a permanent tattoo, you should be aware of the history of your design.

Thirdly and perhaps most important of all: make sure you are positive you want to get a permanent tattoo! Perhaps this sounds obvious, but so many people don’t think about it. Your wrist is an extremely visible place to choose for your tattoo. If you have a tattoo on your back, ankle or shoulder instead, it is much easier to hide when you really need to. But on your wrist it’s almost impossible to hide it completely.

To you your tattoo will look good, but what about other people who may (rightly or wrongly) judge you based on your tattoo? What will your parents think? And what about your employer or future employers! Do you really want to affect your chances of a good job in the future simply because of one tattoo that is difficult to hide?

You can see from above that there are some points to consider carefully before you get a wrist tattoo. This doesn’t mean you definitely shouldn’t get one, however. Wrist tattoos are a great way to show people your individual style and make your body more individual.

The standard sewing machine gave sewing a huge step forward, and the serger has accomplished even faster and better sewing.

The standard sewing machine makes a locked stitch. Sergers on the other hand, make overlocking stitches and chain stitches. Sergers overcast the edge of the fabric, while seaming and trimming.

Sergers can do so many things faster, easier, and better than a ordinary sewing machine that it seems almost unlimited. They augment the ordinary sewing machine, but do not replace ordinary sewing machines.

The appearance of a serger is very different from the standard sewing machine. Its body is much more compact. It uses several cones of thread instead of a single spool. It may have several needles. Instead of bobbin and hook assemblies, the serger has an upper and lower looper.

Serger features are identified by how many cone of thread they use. Usually, this will range from two to eight, but the most common are identified as 3-4 thread sergers. These sergers can produce a variety of stitches like chain, flatlock, rolled edge, safety, overedge, and wrapped stitches. Some stitches are used for utility and hidden away out of view, while others are used decoratively if fully view.

If it can be sewn on a straight stitch regular sewing machine, it can be sewn faster, better, and stronger on a serger. There are so many possibilities for serging one might be tempted to try and get along with just a serger. Together with a standard sewing machine, there is virtually no limit to creativity. Clothing, pillows, decorative items, quilts, you name it, and your serger can do it. Beading, braid, casings, couching, edging, fagoting, gathering, heirloom, just keep imagining all the things you can do.

To get the maximum out of your serger, become thoroughly familiar with your serger. Read your owners manual. Learn the major parts of your machine so you will understand the instructions in the manual. Take the free how to use classes that came with the purchase of your serger. Take several instructional and project classes. Join a serger club and share your interest in sergers. Read books on serging. Watch the many videos on serging. The more you discover, the better you will be able to use your serger. Many serger manufacturers offer workbooks on how to use their machines. Work your way step by step through the workbook for your serger. Practice each type of stitch. Learn how to properly adjust your serger.

To understand how the serger shapes stitches, set up your serger to serge. With everything threaded and your test fabric in place; watch as you turn the hand wheel toward you. See the needles come down and penetrate the fabric. If you open the front cover, you can see the needles reach the bottom position. As the needles begin to rise again, the threads on each needle form a loop behind their needles.

At this point, the lower looper moves from the left behind the needles and picks up the upper threads. The lower looper reaches its far right position. The upper looper moves behind the lower looper, and picks up the threads from the lower looper and needles. The lower looper moves back to the left and the threads slip off. The threads wrap around the edge of the fabric held taught by the stitch finger. The stitches trail off leaving the overcasting – overlocking stitches encasing the edge of the fabric while seaming the fabrics together.

You can take full advantage of your serger, if you will learn how it works, use it often, and diligently care for your machine.

The last post I did was an account about how I was challenged to sell some crafts at a festival. Seeing as I wrote down advice and tips in a few other previous entries regarding the topic, many people assumed that I was selling my own craft works. But, when I admitted that I don’t actually sell crafts at a booth, I was told by some to get some experience first before my advice could be counted credible.

So, okay, I humored them. In the limited time allotted me, I had understandably no time to find and re-master my talent into something tangible, so I opted to go for buying some of my more talented friends’ crafts. This way, I get to resell them in a craft show of my choosing.

I finished up the specifics of obtaining a craft booth, after which I went on to arrange it as was needed. As one of my pieces of advice goes, the booth should between over-decorated and under-decorated, and that’s exactly what I did. I spread a light yellow cloth over the booth table, and displayed a few dark brown statuettes on it. The pastel yellow cloth complemented the dark brown color without clashing in the customer’s eyes.

It was a pretty fun experience, after all is said and done. I tried not to be too aggressive in my selling, and I think I wasn’t. Whenever someone stopped in front of the booth and took an interest in the items, I would chat them up a little, telling them what was interesting about the crafted piece, whilst pausing and listening to them if they had something to say as well.

You see, all in all, selling crafts may net you income, but it’s the joy of sharing it with others that count. And true enough, I made enough income over the week to say that I am qualified enough to talk about it.

So your shiny new iPhone is fixed there looking at you. Cant you simply hear it whispering, “Unlock me…Unlock me…Unlock me…”? What will you do? How would you unlock your iPhone? What if you do not want to use AT&T, the recognized carrier, for your iPhone service?

Using stereo gives your music a much larger and wider sound. It gives the impression that the sound is coming from everywhere. Pretty much all recorded guitar sounds are produced in stereo to give the sound a fuller presence in the room and a larger sound. You can hear this effect when you listen to music on your headphones. There are a few steps to run your guitar in stereo

First, use a stereo amplifier such fender Princeton chorus or any digital modeling amp where line 6 that is designated stereo.

Secondly, use a modern digital guitar processor. Use any modern digital guitar processor. These units generally have two outputs (left/right). Then run two leads to two channels of a mixing desk or mixer/amp unit as long as the PA system is running in stereo. This is very important. Then you hard pan each channel to each of the left and right outputs.

Many mixing boards have both channels where you can connect both outputs of your processor into one channel. If you wish to hear your guitar separately from the other instruments, you will still need to monitor your sound through some type of amp that is not part of the PA system. Most bands these days connect everything into a PA system and have no stage amps at all.

Furthermore, you may use two amplifiers as well as one of the effect processors mentioned above or any effects unit that has two outputs. One lead goes to one amp and the other goes to the second amp. This lets you produce stereo sound without a PA system.

The down side of this is the set up is more time consuming, requires double rigging and twice as much actual equipment. It is a lot of work, however, the result is remarkably different from playing through a single mono amplifier. The sound quality is amazing and you get a stereo sound.

A few harmony machines will only sound good in a stereo configuration when set up to do complex harmonies. To make sure you are getting the best sound, you need to set up one of these systems.

Stereo makes your guitar sound better and helps fill the room. It gives the listener a more complete music experience and should be used all the time.
