Gamers Debate Ps3 and the Xbox360
Gaming aficionados are lucky to have two of the supreme gaming consoles, the PlayStation 3 and its rival the Xbox 360 competing to secure top of mind space. With both the gaming consoles being of equal caliber and providing different gaming experiences, gamers have a tough choice to make in deciding on a particular one and have to base their decision on the attributes offered by the two.
PlayStation 3 owes a great deal of its popularity to the truth that IBM, Toshiba and Sony were responsible for its processor.
It is not a wonder that Play station is so popular since it offers great benefits in allowing high definition film viewing and internet surfing through its console and also has the robust NVIDIA graphics card along with the Blu Ray player backing it with a storage capacity of 54 GB.
People find the PS3 great due to the almost factual exposure they get towards the events unfolding on the console and these effects come very close to the ones that are portrayed in graphic intensive pictures on the big screen thanks to the NVIDIA graphics card. Gaming enthusiasts love the fact that they can not only play a lot of games of the current version of Play station but can also access and play games hitherto famous in the older versions of Play station.
The reason behind the Xbox 360 console being able to compete so effectively with the PlayStation 3 is its 3.2 GHz chip coupled with a processor powered by a 512MB RAM from IBM. People feel that though the Xbox 360 comes with an ATI graphics card operating at 500MHz, it is not as impressive as the PS3 graphics that is powered by the NVIDIA card. One more chink in the Xbox 360 armor is the DVD-ROM which pales in comparison to the impressive Blu Ray player though it supports both the DVD and CD formats enabling its use as a home theater system.
The expense factor seems to be the only trigger that can assist gamers to select one over the other as both PS 3 and Xbox 360 are closely matched in graphics and games that they offer and in this, the Xbox 360 may have the advantage of a cheaper expense making gamers prefer it over the PS3.There is however no doubt that both these systems are here to stay and will be rolling out newer applications to woo the gaming enthusiasts to stay even further ahead of their nearest rivals.
