Star Trek: Insurrection: The Ba’ku live on a planet with special powers, it is like a fountain of youth. Learning of this planet’s magic powers, Starfleet leaders want to access this ‘gold mine of a planet’ for there own uses. Jean-Luc Picard, and the Enterprise crew must choose to obey the order, and force the Ba’ku to leave, or disobey Starfleet, and fight to save the planet for the Ba’ku.

Jackass: he Movie: Johnny Knoxville takes his act to the big screen. There’s nothing new here, just a movie like the TV show. It’s a bunch of guys doing stupid and dangerous stuff, being the jackasses that they are.

Cinderella Man: Recounts the true story of James J. Braddock, the Cinderella Man. Braddock was a boxer in the early 1930′s who was seemingly already washed up from a not so stellar career. He was down on his luck and barely keeping the family alive. To save his family Braddock revives his career, and then does the impossible. He wins the heavyweight title.

Happy Gilmore: Hockey player Happy Gilmore finds his slap shot power translates into 400 yard plus drives in golf. Needing money to help his grandma save her house, he is going to try pro golf. His putting is as bad as his driving is good, so he has a lot to learn. Overcoming all odds, Happy wins the tour championship and now can save grandma’s house.

I used to be a walking talking model of what not to wear. I fashioned myself as a t shirt and jeans kind of guy, but even in my chiseled physique I managed to find T-shirts and jeans that were not very flattering for me. I usually would date women who didn’t really care, but even so I sometimes embarrassed them on dates. Sometimes I would find a shirt that I really liked and wear it with pants that really clashed with it. I didn’t really notice at the time, as I wasn’t aware of the basic rules of fashion.

That is before I dated a fashion designer. She sort of took me under her arm in the fashion department. Although in most respects we see the world in the same way, she is much more visual than I am. She knew what to wear and it mattered to her greatly how she looked. She acted as my fashion consultant, taking me shopping weekend after weekend. Although at the time I found it annoying, in retrospect I really appreciate the effort. Her fashion advice has increased my success in business and in my personal life. I had an easier time in tracking subsequent girlfriends, and I never have to feel embarrassed about what I am wearing anymore.

Looking back on his experience, it is funny to now see a TV show that so closely models several months of my life. In the What Not to Wear BBC show, normal people volunteer for a makeover by fashion consultants. The consultants are rather relaxed and charming about the whole thing, and it doesn’t seem like too much of an embarrassment.

Nevertheless, I know that it takes quite a bit of courage to appear on the show. Particularly for women, it is never an easy thing to admit that you are a sloppy dresser. Although I appreciate the show as pure entertainment, I also appreciate the courage of the people who decided to appear on it.

Understanding what not to wear is like understanding how to get organized. For some people, it is a natural skill, but for others it isn’t. If you don’t have a natural ability to understand fashion, you might never learn. People don’t tend to tutor students in that sort of thing. That is why it can be so helpful to have someone who is fashion conscious to take you under their arm and show you what makes for a good outfit.

If you are anything like me, you may have problems planning a few days ahead let alone thinking about something that is months away. If you do have something planned, chances are really good that you are going to forget it, and you may not have enough time to prepare for it. Obviously a huge vacation is not going to skip your mind, but smaller things that are equally important may be the first things you forget. No matter how unorganized you feel, you can use a yearly calendar to help you remember what is coming up.

There are a few different ways that you can use a yearly calendar, and a few different types that you can buy. One of my favorites has been the paper type that has an entire year set out, but goes month by month. You can fill in the month and the dates on your own, and you have plenty of space to write things down on each day. What is great about this type of yearly calendar is that you can fill out a years worth of months, and the flip through and mark down special days that you want to remember long before they are coming up.

Another type of yearly calendar is one that takes up a bit of space, but can be something that you can use month by month if you wish. You can get calendars printed on dry erase boards. They can be large, so be sure you have somewhere to hang them before you get this kind. You can use different colors of markers for each person in your family, and you can write things down well in advance. Just be careful that it is not in a place where the marker can be accidentally wiped off, or it wont do you much good to mark anything down.

You can also find some yearly calendars that you can have on your home computer. If you have an email account, you may have one that you can use for free. You may also have one in your cellular phone that you can also use. Most find these to be inconvenient though, as it takes a while to enter the information you need to save.
