10 Million Gamers Can’t Possibly Be Wrong or Could They
If anyone has noticed, the internet gaming industry has reached over fifty billion dollars. The gaming companies online have made magical virtual worlds where you can leave your hum-drum real world behind and experience amazing characters, exciting plots and breathtaking venues. World of Warcraft is one of the most booming and popular of these online games.
World of Warcraft is a massively multiplayer Online role playing Game(MMORPG) in which literally hundreds, and even thousands of players are in the game at the same time, playing in different worlds or even each other. The players battle against each other,or can band together for their common advantage as they engage in combat in different worlds.
The fourth and latest installment of World of Warcraft is Wrath of the Litch King.Orcs and Humans, being the initial introductory edition, was [launched|released in 1994. The World of Warcraft takes place in the world of Azeroth. In the game, Azeroth is referred to as The Realm.The following version of the game,Warcraft III;The Frozen Throne was released in 2004.This was just in time to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the game’s owners and developers, Blizzard Entertainment.There is now over 10 million people worldwide playing the game, making it one of the most popular games of all time.
Playing the game involves controlling a character which is exploring and traveling over various territories. In the process, the characters are engaging in combat with enemies and communicating with other players. The pay off includes acquiring gold, obtaining more powers, the location and acquisition of objects which can be either everyday run of the mill or magically enchanted. All this builds experience which results in the furthering of the player’s power level.
The initial versions have 60 levels and the expansion pack, The Burning Crusade has 70 levels. The expansion pack Wrath of the Lich King has up to 80 levels. Battles can be fought with other players (PvP) or can be fought with an enemy, based on that current server rules and strategies. The same members can fight the duels which can be loads of fun.
You may notice similarities between the World of Warcraft characters and the characters found in Dungeons and Dragons. It can be claimed that World of Worcraft was developed using Dungeons and Dragons as a template. Many similarities can be seen.
In the creation of characters, players can choose betweeneight races and have nine character classes to select from. The races are divided among two factions ,The Alliance and The Horde. Humans, Gnomes, Dwarves, Night Elves and Draenei are all part of the Alliance. Orcs, Trolls, Undead, Tauren and Blood Elves are part of the Horde.
The choices of character class that the player may choose from include Hunter, Paladin, Mage, Shaman, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Druid and Warrior.With the latest addition to the game, The Wrath of the Litch King, comes the newest character class, the Death Knight.
In the game the characters are set apart into two groups. The first type are the player characters that are real life people. The second group are called nonplayer characters or NPC . These are computer generated characters. This second group or NPC are in addition split up into three groups. These are friendly, hostile, and neutral NCP.
While playing the game, characters learn to develop abilities which are non combat qualities. These abilities are the players profession. There are two types of professions; primary and secondary.
Another thing that can have a direct effect on the player’s advancement and ultimate rewards are the reputation levels. The player achieves|attains|acquires|gets to| the higher reputation levels by conquering a given region or overcoming mighty foes.The benefits of a higher reputation include buying at a discount at the vendors and getting difficult to acquire objects. Just think of it like street cred.
