A Chakra Perspective
A chakra relates to and broadcasts the energy of life force; it is a point of alignment in the body. Chakra comes from the Sanskrit word that describes a constantly spinning wheel or the sphere aural energy we each have. Hindu text tells us that there are many thousands of chakra points in each of our bodies. The most vital of these chakra points are those which run along the spinal column up to the crown of the head. These are the seven chakra points.
The root or base chakra, the sex or navel chakra, the stomach or solar plexus chakra, the heart chakra, the throat chakra, the brow or third eye chakra and the crown chakra are the seven major chakras of the body. These main chakra points of the body can receive and transmit energy to and from its universal surroundings including various elements and the individuals around it. They are able to influence the spiritual, mystical, emotional, intellectual, corporeal and psychological activities of an individual all by themselves.
Whether you choose a viewpoint of the Hindus mystical understanding of an individual’s internal and external experience, Chinese medicine or the explanation of modern psychology of human thought processes and consciousness, however the chakras are distinct yet they all have a common thread that runs with them all concerning their explanations or definitions.
No matter if we are sleeping or awake the chakras are continually in motion. Our actions, deeds, glandular processes, structure, appearance and any physical disorders are influenced by this constant activity. An imbalance develops and then makes it known in other areas of our life or body when one or more of these chakras malfunctions for various reasons.
There is a particular endocrine gland that associates with each of the seven main chakras. If there is an imbalance of the chakras functioning it does influence the physical and emotional body processes. This will be exposed as a disorder of some sort in the regulated patterns of behavior and or activities that relate to that particular endocrine gland.
Maintaining Chakra Balance By understanding the point above as a point of beginning, our chakras associate with any type of illness or disease that you may experience. Of course, the appearance of an imbalance or ailment may not be recognizable, although there may be emotional issues that resurface from out childhood which can influence the physical, spiritual and emotional senses.
One of the major causes of chakra imbalance is associated with repressed emotional baggage that develops from past trauma. These habitually buried emotional toxins of the subconscious influence the cellular level of our body. This is why we need to deal with any emotional baggage as it can help us maintain the necessary balance of the chakras. This will influence the healing of the physical being.
Healing the Body Chakras Activities such as Reiki, color therapy, aromatherapy provides balance by using the healing properties of crystals, gemstones and pendulums.
The physical and breathing exercises that are performed in yoga is beneficial in maintaining the balance of the charkas of the body, many individuals enjoy attending yoga exercise classes.
There are other methods of chakra healing, they are meditation to keep the mind focused on a thought, awareness or object for a specific amount of time, a guided visualization which can be done while using CDs or audio tapes in order to encourage relaxation techniques and natural healing in order to reduce stress while promoting relaxation and harnessing mind power.
Chakras work unaided to maintain our body although we cannot touch or see our chakras.
The body needs nutrition in order for there to be balance of the chakras and the pleasure of good health. There are particular foods that aid in maintaining the balance of each of the seven chakras.
Root vegetables and foods that are rich in protein and spices help to nourish the root chakra. The sacral chakra that associates with the sexual and creative being is nourished by such foods as sweet fruits, nuts, cinnamon, vanilla and seeds such as sesame and caraway. Spicy mints, dairy products, yogurt, pastas, bread and cereals nourish the solar plexus chakra that inspires our sense of self confidence and self love.
Green tea and green leafy vegetables nourish the heart chakra. Consuming a lot of water, fruit juices and tangy fruits such as peaches and apples nourish the throat chakra.
The brow or third eye chakra which enhances our sharpness of third eye sight and an in-depth sense of our own psychical gifts is nourished by consuming grapes, blueberries, grape juice and wine.
Our emotional and spiritual center the crown chakra requires a good detoxification. This is done by ritual inhalation of herbs and incense and fasting.
When we stimulate our chakras we directly influence our health. We move towards being more responsive and spiritual as we attune ourselves completely with our surroundings and the elements of the physical and metaphysical world in which we live.
