Serving others makes me smile
Are you a volunteer? Do you enjoy being one? I feel very glad that I find the meaning of life and happiness through serving others. I feel that I was born to serve others, I really love to be a volunteer.
As a fanatic of serving others, I have been a volunteer for over 10 years already. I enjoy serving other people as I am fond of watching those I served showing broad smiles to me.
I was 8 years old when I first had the experience of serving the needy ones. I could still remember how happy the elderly people were when I played the piano and my classmates sang Christmas songs to them. And they told me about they old good memories.
I participated in services organised by different charitable organizations in my secondary school life. For example I helped OXFAM and the World Wide Fund. These are all very great experience. But the greatest fun of serving others is not just to participate in service programmes.
During my high school time, as I have gained experience of serving others, I tried to organize service programmes by being project leader. I finally realised that the most enjoyable thing of serving others is to organise service programmes to serve those I hope to serve the most, but not just to participate in projects.
University life is very hard to go through as the study is very difficult. But I do not give up my life of serving others as whenever I see those I served smile, I feel that they are happy to be with me and I feel happy to be with them too. They help me understand the meaning of my life and they relieve me from my harsh university life. Sometimes I send them e-cards and they will reply me with e-cards saying that they miss me. How sweet they are!
I will never stop my life of serving others, even after I retire, I would like to go around the world to be a volunteer, to send the message of love, to everywhere, to everyone.
Serving others is not just about making others smile, it is also to make yourself feel happy when you feel their joy. String up and be a volunteer TODAY!
