New CD by Missy Elliott: Block Party
Missy Elliott, the hip and unique, female artist, will be releasing Block Party, in the US later this year. With an original release date of December 2007, it has been postponed until sometime in August or September. Missy Elliott announced that it has been postponed while she worked on the finishing touches and improvements. this will be Missy Elliotts seventh career album and the first one since 2005, the longest gap between albums released by Missy. The CD will also include artists such as, Timbaland, T-Pain, The Arkitects, Swizz Beatz, Pharell Williams, Danja, and more.
Missy Elliotts official website announced that Ching-a-Ling would be featured the Block Party CD. Best Best, which leaked on the Internet in June 2008 and is thought to be the albums lead track. The Best Best video currently under production. Act a Fool, Fire, All for You, Put It On You, Shake Your Pom Pom, Hip-Hop Dont Die, Milk & Cookies, Like When You Play the Music, and Love are tracks from Block Party. Shake Your Pom Pom was released in March 2008. Put It On You is expected to be released in June 2009, before the CD, and features Teyana Taylor.
Block Party was the chosen title, Missy Elliot told Billboard, because of the numerous dance tracks and the face that it can be listened to and played int he streets.
Missy also said that she views this album is more musical and melodious than albums she released in the past. She said most of her previous albums were driven by hip-hop with influences of other genres of music. She views this one as different because it combines her same hip-hop styles with sounds of United Kingdom hip-hop styles.
As expected, Missy Elliott and Timabaland continue to work and collaborate together. Elliott views this relationship as something deeper than producing albums. She has stated that there is a lot of chemistry between the two of them that will never change.
Block Party is extremely anticipated by fans of Missy Elliott. Many have already signed on a waiting list for the new CD, that is offered by many stores and websites.
