Relapse’ With Eminem
Rapper, Eminem, is determined prove he still has it after all these years, with his 6th album, Relapse, His last album, Encore, was released in 2004, though so much has changed since then Eminem continues working hard to show why he still matters to his fans.
Like many of his past releases, Eminem has teamed up with rap impresario Dr. Dre to produce most of this album’s twenty different tracks. There is a lot of bang for your buck by purchasing this CD, thanks to the wide array of different songs. While a couple of these – including “Tonya” and “Paul” – are short skits, the rest tend to return to Eminem’s roots, mixing a bit of new with a lot of the old to arrive at a compelling amalgamation of sound.
There has been a great deal of speculation for a couple of years now regarding when – or even if – Relapse would be released. Fortunately for Eminem fans and rap lovers alike, this record really lives up to its hype. In fact, this might even be the artist’s finest work to date. The rapper has finely honed the considerable skills that he built up through his previous efforts, slickly delivering a one-two punch of rap ingenuity that will blow away even his biggest skeptics.
Eminem opens Relapse with a theatrical scene, like many album before it. Afterwards we are introduced to the song “3am”, about a prescription pill abusing psychopath. The mainstay of Eminem’s career, controversy, is alive and well on this album, and his fans will celebrate all the more for it.
During the progression of the album, Eminem continues with many cringing lyrics and funny innuendo. As always he berates him mother in a track entitled “My Mom”. This is is most confrontational album to date, and that is saying a lot for Eminem.
Whether you are a die hard Eminem fan, or if you are simply curious about what all the fuss is about, Relapse is a spectacular way to hear the artist at his finest. Those who thought that Eminem had no more tricks up his sleeve are proven dead wrong thanks to this ambitious, perfectly produced album.
