If you are attending a party with friends or taking a group of children trick or treating then group Halloween costumes can be a great way to have even more fun over the holiday. Before you make the costume everyone will need to choose an idea or theme and then either find or make their costume.
For little girls Disney princesses are always popular and there are enough to chose form that everyone can be a princess they love. Many times choosing a time period or event can help inspire ideas if you are having difficulties.
Many group Halloween costumes can be handmade and you do not have to spend large amounts of money to look great for Halloween. You just need to be creative and go through your attics, search through yard sales and visit your local thrift and arts and craft store. Group costume ideas can be found anywhere all you need to do is look around, particularly at entertainment and movies.
Many group costumes can be inspired form your favorite movie or television show. You and your group of friends can be characters from Batman, the Brady Bunch family if you have enough people, warriors from the movie 300, Charlie’s Angels, characters from the Wizard of Oz, Spiderman characters, famous villains, Wyatt Earp, his brothers and Doc Holiday, characters from the Lord of the Rings movies, the Ghostbusters with their ghosts, Mickey mouse and company, the crew of the star ship enterprise, characters from Shrek, snow white and the seven dwarves, teenage mutant ninja turtles and many more characters from entertainment.
Cartoon characters are always popular, particularly for little kids. Some of the current favorites for all ages include the teletubbies, Scooby doo, South Park Kids, the Jetson’s, the Simpsons and other superheros. You can also go for fun and adventure by dressing up like characters from Indiana Jones, the Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean, 300, Transformers, and any other characters from your favorite movie.
There are some group Halloween costumes that work well as they compliment others. A good example is five people dressed up as a royal straight, each person is an individual playing card and when they are together they make a royal straight. This concept also works well for a six-pack of beer or soda. If you have many friends then you could all dress up as a different act from a carnival or each of you chose your favorite work of art and dress up as something representative of that artwork.
Kids will enjoy dressing up as characters form the Wizard of OZ, the Power Rangers, the Wiggles, the cast of High School Musical, characters form Harry Potter, the Incredibles, Peter Pan and the lost boys, and characters from Willy Wonka to name but a few options. Kids also will have a lot of fun dressed up as insects, animals, dinosaurs, fairies, superheroes and more.
It can be fun for your group to chose a time period and then dress up in costumes form this time. In this way each person can be individual but still part of a group. Popular time periods include the sixties, ancient Greek, ancient Rome, medieval times and renaissance times.
