If you bought a simple point and shoot or a digital camera that is fairly new, the first thing that should be done is to send it to the company that you bought it from, as part of their service. If you bought a Nikon camera for example, you should be sending it to Nikon USA.

Just by looking at the website of the camera’s manufacturer you will find the phone number and address of the nearest repair facility. SLR camera repair might be a bit harder if you’re not from USA, but from a third world country. Still, you always have the option of sending the camera body together with your credit card number to a company that repairs digital cameras.

If the camera you want to repair is an older 35mm model that has some kind of sentimental value, then the $200 you might spend to repair it can be worth it. In this case, send it back to the manufacturer, Pentax, Nikon, whoever they might be.

Now, in some cases, if the camera is way too old, they might reply that they don’t have the needed parts anymore. Something like that can happen with a 20 year old camera for example. If this happens, you can contact a shop that is independent and ask them to take parts from other similar cameras that aren’t working anymore, using them to repair your camera.

How many times have you gone into your favorite electronics shop, already to buy, only to find out they’re out of stock. Not to mention standing in lines outside the store waiting for it to open to get the best price on the item you really want.

Unfortunately I don’t have a list with the best camera repair shops from each state. Instead, you could use a local neighborhood service to get the advice you need or ask your local camera shops for advice. If you still can’t find the tips you need, consider buying a new digital camera instead of doing SLR camera repair.

At some point or other most of us are asked to perform the duties of best man. This, while obviously an honour, can also be a stressful time for a best man. The responsibility should not be taken lightly as the Groom will remember his Stag Party for the rest of his days. My advice is to make it memorable for all the right reasons.

When you take the role of best man, you also take on several responsibilities. The main one of course being making sure that the groom arrives on time at the church and looks dashingly handsome, and performing your humorous speeches at the reception. But of course, another of your duties is organising the stag party to end all parties, and if that ends up as quiz night at the pub, you won’t be all that popular among the guests.

There are several key components to a good Stag event, firstly you need to get the group to bond together during an activity, follow that with a feast and lastly, ample drinking, dancing and night time merriment.

The thought of getting it all organised can be quite daunting, because some guests may not be competent at what you have in mind, and therefore fairly reluctant to attend. You’d be better off not simply doing whatever the Grooms favourite hobby is for this reason, and try out a few different activities for some variety, or go for something that hardly anyone has done before. The main thing really is that the selected activities should require little to no skill for maximum enjoyment.

Weekends are getting more and more popular for stag events because on the Saturday you can have fun-packed activities on the Saturday, followed by a meal and then drinks, then do something a little more sedated on the Sunday. This also makes sure that everyone will something to look forward to over the course of the weekend.

Organising an unforgettable stag party, means finding one location that provides the several activities you would like, or two/three locations within a close driving distance of one another. Some venues do provide many activities all in that one location, which can be useful, but I would recommend using a couple of separate venues and also a separate hotel for some variety.

It is important to plan your weekend so that the more high energy or skill related activities are carried out before your big night drinking. You don’t want your guests being ill mid activity on the Sunday! Many activities including driving and shooting activities need to be very careful regarding allowing you to participate if they believe you to be hungover or worse, still drunk. For that reason we would suggest you arrange these activities for the Saturday so that none of your guests end up excluded from participating.

You can still plan lots of activities for the Sunday, such as paint balling, indoor sky diving, white water rafting, skiing, golf etc. leaving the more hazardous events to the Saturday, like karting, off-road driving, clay pigeon shooting, rifle shooting, quad biking, archery etc. If you choose a good venue then they will probably run an on-going competition through all of the events, with the chance of winning some prizes, giving the weekend a little bit of a competitive edge.

World of Warcraft has 14 different professions to choose from, one of which is Engineering. In this guide I am going to give and overview of the Engineering profession as well as some tips and tricks as to how you dominate this profession and make a heap of gold in the process.

Any of the classes in WoW can learn to become Engineers. Out of all the classes, I believe that the Hunter’s are most suited to being Engineers as they rely on items Engineers produce – items such as bullets, arrows, and guns.

The only race to receive a bonus from Engineering are Gnomes. Initially this bonus might be useful but as your level increases this advantage will become less and less significant.

The best profession to choose to accompany Engineering is Mining. When you leave the beginning zone, ask the guard where to find both trainers for Engineers and Miners.

As an Engineer you will want to make sure you make a Gnomish Army Knife as soon as you can. There is no limitation regarding your characters level needed to make one but your engineering skill will have to be at 450. I highly recommend you do everything you can to make one of these as soon as possible – they have a wide range of useful benefits and uses!

The reason I suggested that you choose Mining as your gathering profession is because to improve your Engineering skill you need a heap of metal. The other benefit to being a miner is that you will also be able to make a heap of gold as Mining is one of the most lucrative professions in WoW.

A potential downside to becoming an Engineer is that you won’t be able to sell all of the items you create to just anyone. Some items need Engineering skills to use. That’s not to say you can’t make a killing with engineering items however, some items can sell for mega bucks.

If you are hoping to be able to express yourself completely on the Common App, you will probably be disappointed. It is a limited document that provides a small amount of space for answers and information. Additionally, you may submit supplemental materials, and two essays. One of your essays should be specific to school. The other one can be generic.

To make the most of this opportunity, I suggest you follow these five tips:

1. Paint a clear picture of yourself. Tell about your personality and accomplishments. This is much more effective than telling a good story.

I remember reading a wonderful, heartwarming essay from an applicant who recounted the story of her family’s practice of adopting stray dogs. The very delightful story told of her experiences caring for the dogs as she grew up. While it was most enjoyable, it fell short of the mark in two ways:

-The story did not give me any idea of the applicant’s accomplishments. -The story did not give me a well-rounded picture of the applicant’s personality.

If it doesn’t address these points, a wonderful, entertaining, engaging essay may cause it’s writer to be waitlisted.

2. Blow your own horn!

Modesty is common among overachievers. They downplay fantastic accomplishments and sell themselves short by saying things like:

“Of course, there are lots of applicants who are more deserving of Harvard placement than I.”

Or

“I know it will be pure luck if I am accepted to Stanford.”

Don’t say that kind of thing.

There is a big difference between inappropriate boasting and a simple, straightforward accounting of your accomplishments. Know that difference and use it. Talk about your achievements, yourself, and your life in an honest and open way to make the best impression possible.

3. Tell personal stories.

Sharing appropriate anecdotes about your life is very effective and memorable. The essay about the family that adopted dogs is a case in point. Even though it didn’t help that applicant, I still remember it. If you share stories of your life in a way that showcases your personality and your accomplishments, it will go a long way toward getting your application accepted.

4. Talk about your achievements. Don’t point out your shortcomings.

The only exception to this is if you failed at something several times but kept trying until you succeeded spectacularly. If your failure caused you to try harder and prevail, include it. If not, leave it out.

Your childhood accomplishments, while charming, are not pertinent to your essay unless they led to further accomplishments in your high school career. If winning a prize for the best science project in 6th grade led you to enter and win a national competition later on, be sure to point it out. If not, omit it.

5. Avoid gratuitous name-dropping.

This sort of statement is not impressive in an essay:

“My good friend John Doe is a freshman at Harvard, and I really admire him, so Harvard is the school of my dreams.”

Dropping the names of alumni and professors is also not impressive.

If you need to mention a person’s name because it is necessary to the sense of the story you are telling, do so. Otherwise, it is best to avoid it.

During my career as a photographer I have bought lots of cameras, and I have seen people do huge mistakes in choosing a camera model. This article is meant to outline what not to do when shopping for one.

When looking for good batteries, you should always consider the type of camera you are using. Although most cameras are compatible with rechargeables, there are still those that are only compatible with Nickel-Cadmium types To ensure your safety, better read the power supply label of your digital before looking for power cells.

Optical zoom is the only one you should care about. A 3-5x figure is alright for most low to middle end cameras. You will never use digital zoom higher than 5x, so don’t get wooed by the 1000x zoom boasted by the sales person.

If you feel like you are unhappy with the camera you own at the moment, go out and buy the best one you can find. Best does not necessarily mean the priciest. Pick something with the best mix of features.

Photographers who often travel are usually packed with a trusted battery charger. Battery chargers have different features. Some models will allow you to recharge a set of batteries while others can recharge two sets. If you are usually on the rush, it is better to choose chargers that can recharge quicker. However, the said kind of charger is usually more expensive.

Never buy batteries and chargers from unknown brand. As these items are connected to electricity, it is best to be safe. Purchase batteries and chargers from stores that have established reputation.

If you want to save on power, better try using your battery wisely. If you can get by without a camera’s flash, then better turn it off. Regularly turn off your LCD monitor when not in use. Use your AC power when transferring or uploading pictures to your computer. Following these simple measures will surely extend the life of your battery.

When looking out for a new camera, determining your photographic style can help you narrow down the range of models to choose from by determining the exact set of features you need.

Sports and action. While you probably don’t consider yourself an action photographer, if you take photos of pets and kids on a regular basis then you are. Since they move fast and you can’t keep them in one place to take their photo, this type of photography is what you have to do in many cases.

All in all, the Canon Rebel SLR camera is solid, feels sturdy, not too heavy nor too light, and it fits right in your hand. If you’re looking for a great camera and you’re not restricted by your budget, the XSi is the way to go.

The Rebel XSi may be a bit too pricey for some people’s standards, but I say it’s worth every single cent and you’ll have the quality photos to prove it. If you don’t mind waiting a bit more, you can wait for its price to go down so that you can spend the money on extra lenses or accessories instead.

Visual memories of your child begin with infant portraits. Before long your newborn will be off to college. In the blink of an eye they are out of the house and raising their own families. You are left with priceless memories. Luckily you have gorgeous photographic portraits to go along with the memories.

It is important to have quality pictures that will stand the test of time. Start from the beginning with your newborn and continue a tradition of regularly getting professional pictures of your kids as they change and develop. Below are ten tips to help you get the best infant portraits possible.

1. Take your baby for several photographic sessions during his or her first year of life. They change so much during the first year of development. Make sure you record these changes with many portraits.

2. A well rested baby is a happy baby. Luckily newborns sleep a lot so this is an easy task.

3. Relax ” its more important than you might think. Babies are sensitive to their environment and will pick up on how you feel. The professional photographer is also in tune to your mood. Being relaxed adds to the overall mood of the session. That will make for better photos.

4. Before taking your infant to the photo shoot, make sure he or she is well fed. Have extra outfits ready in case the baby spits up the formula or breast milk.

5. Bring lots of diapers and wipes so your baby will feel fresh and comfortable.

6. How hot or cold the room is important an often forgotten. If the studio, room, or outside setting is uncomfortable, it might reflect in the picture. If possible ask the photographer to adjust the heating or air conditioning to make everyone as comfortable as possible. If your baby is being photographed in his or her birthday suit, be sensitive to their needs. They will probably be more comfortable in a warmer environment.

If you fall outside of this time frame, dont give up! Still have your baby photographed as soon as possible. They are changing daily.

10. Keep the people at the photo session to only those in the photograph. Of course also included are the photographer and one of the newborns parents. Observers can be distracting. After all, you want the best infant portraits possible, right?

We all give in to various trends of fashion, whether it is things that are in at the moment or sometimes things that hail from yesteryear. A great deal depends on the current frame of mind we are, actually, in along with what look we fancy to actually attain.

Most likely you will find that your leaf will fit in the inset quite snugly, but if not, you could put a bit of double sided tape or adhesive on the back of the leaf to fix it. At this point you can reassemble the complete frame.

Generally, I think, this works splendidly if you arrange a set of them, like a set of 2,3, or 4, and every one with a different sort of leaf.
