National Lottery Numbers – Should You Use Your Lucky Numbers?
It’s no secret that there are millions of people every week who choose to use the same national lottery numbers for their entries. Usually, these are birthdays that in many lotteries can only cover part of any possible number choices. So should you rely on your lucky numbers and do you have a better chance playing in a national lottery syndicate?
Being the one to pick the winning national lottery numbers is naturally something every dedicated player wishes they could do; can you crack the code using your own unique strategy? You wish! As humans, we have an innate bias against anything random, we like control and patterns that make sense. We even like to believe sometimes that if we don’t do something, or do it in a different way, that something bad might happen, in this case, if we miss doing our numbers they are sure to come up!
To be frank, you cannot pick any numbers that are more, or less likely to win. Just because a number seems to come up frequently, why should it come up again? Lotteries are a game of pure chance and each and every number drawn is purely random, SO HEAR THIS, no one number is more random than another.
If you look at the rules of probability, as one number is drawn the likelihood of your chosen number being drawn next is slightly increased purely because the possible selection is less.
Sadly, to win the UK lottery jackpot you only have approximately a 1 in 14 million chance of being successful, yet we all hope it will be us. Using the same numbers would mean you would have to play 135,000 times to even have an evens chance of winning. Does that sound like a good option, would you be better joining a national lottery syndicate?
By all means choose the same numbers every week, but remember they are still RANDOM numbers and you stand just as much chance of winning with those same numbers as with a lucky dip selection. However, if you use birthday numbers in a lottery draw that has 49 numbers will reduce your chances as you are effectively ignoring 19 numbers totally.
What ever lottery you do or however you choose your national lottery numbers, you can increase your chances of winning by joining a syndicate. Of course the winnings will be less, but isn’t winning something more often better than winning nothing?
