Osaka is famous for incorporating their very own fresh seafood by placing bits of food on top of seasoned or flavored rice pads. This technique is still used in making sushi rolls today.

For those who have not tried eating in sushi restaurants before, you may want to familiarize yourselves with the usual ways these restaurants mold and shape the look of the selections in their sushi menus. The top three styles of sushi are Nigri, Maki and Temaki. The nigri is the type of sushi wherein a piece of seafood, usually fish, is laid on top of a pad of rice and secured with nori or seaweed paper. Maki, the most common type, is when the ingredients are places inside a roll of rice, wrapped in nori and sliced into small round or square pieces. The temaki is another sushi menu selection. These are cone-shaped hand-rolled sushi that contain a sizable amount of ingredients and are wrapped entirely in nori. These are served and should be eaten with hands.

For those who prefer vegetarian choices, many restaurants now serve vegetarian sushi rolls. Inari, for example, is made of fried tofu and rice. This is a simple yet tasty sushi type. Do not be overwhelmed by the condiments that are offered along with your sushi. Japanese restaurants have wasabi (a green paste that adds kick and spice), soy sauce and ginger. Dip and enjoy!

What separates a beginner from the pros? Amateur writers write just to write. While this may create tons of negligible content, (or offer them private enjoyment), it does nothing to help them get noticed, increase business, or move their audience to take action.

So what is the goal of great writing? Professional writers have one main goal in mind with their writing: to change their audience. Great writers try hard to help their audience see through different eyes, act differently, and change the way they interact with the world.

Just about anyone who’s made it past the 4th grade can slap a few words together and a complete sentence. (Need proof? Look at most blogs out there.) If you really want to have power in your writing, you have to write for impact. This is what separates educational from influential. Powerful writing can be had in three easy steps: 1) writing for a specific audience, 2) using the right medium, and 3) choosing the correct conversion.

Targeted Audience

Getting in touch with your target audience is vital. See things from their perspective and not your point of view. Every article I write starts with identifying my target reader: What is his age? What are her hobbies and interests? Education? Income level? Purchasing habits? Etc.

As soon as I’ve identified whom it is I’m talking to, I create a custom message for that audience. If I’m writing for a younger audience, say 18-25, I will use words like fresh, cutting-edge and innovative. Words like that have far less impact on the 60+ crowd, who are more interested in whats proven, safe and effective.

Right Location

By location I mean the medium used to communicate your message. This includes things like magazines, newspapers, journals, books, radio and TV ads, as well as blogs, websites, and other online means. Your audience, in large part, determines the venue you choose.

As an example, if I’m targeting economists and writing an article on economic policy, most online methods would fail, whereas an academic journal would have much credibility. An article of that nature requires huge blocks of detailed text; something most people cannot read on a computer screen.

And I probably won’t have enough space to make my case in a magazines or newspaper. Alternatively, if my content is concise, uncomplicated, and intended for a broader audience, possibly a newspaper article makes sense.

All of us are exposed to writing that we skim or ignore. Yet if that same message is accessible in a venue more pleasing to us, we’re much more likely to spend time reading it. Writing for change requires using the best location for our topic and audience.

Appropriate Conversion

The three main types of conversion are know, feel, and do. When you write a know piece, you’re seeking to inform the reader with new facts, or possible old facts arranged in a new light. You’re trying to help them learn. With a feel article, then point is to develop a strong emotional reaction from the reader. And with a do piece, you’re trying to get them to do something, to take some form of action.

Amateurs look at this and try to do all three (When they even recognize it at all.) Professionals focus on only one, because doing so affects the others. How do you want the readers life to change because they read your message? What do you want to see occur in them? Do you primarily want them to know, feel, or do something? Pick one – yes, just one – and carry it out well, and the others will take care of themselves.

If you want your message to actually have impact, you must learn to write for change. Know whom you’re writing to, use the right location to reach them, and choose the right conversion and execute it well. After all, writing that changes you is the only writing worth reading.

To learn new language is to improve your mind and obtain a useful skill, that is, if you are looking to learn a new foreign language. When looking to study a new language, there are a few things one should keep in mind.

Something that people often don’t think about is the actual reason that they want to learn a second language. This reason can often make the difference between someone who successfully learns a second language and someone who doesn’t.

Often people begin learning a second language without a real good reason to do so in the first place. Because second language learning is an endeavour that takes a long time and requires much effort on one’s part, it is important that we make sure we have a steady reason behind our studies that will keep us going to the end.

First, here are some examples of good reasons to learn another language. Let’s say that you work at a company that deals with customers in Mexico. It may make sense then to learn Spanish to develop better relationships with your customers. Or, perhaps, learning Spanish would give you a leg up in that next raise that comes along. Another good reason for learning another language is if you are going to study abroad in that country or if you are going to live there because of your job or some other reason. In these cases, you will have more than enough motivation to study as much as possible before going!

A weak reason might be learning a second language because you have ancestry that spoke that particular language. Let’s say that you live in the United States and have ancestors from Ireland, you might want to learn Irish Gaelic. The only problem here is that unless you have some other reason for wanting to learn the language or have some other kind of contact with it, you probably won’t have enough motivation to study the language for very long.

By this point, you have chosen another language to study and have your good reason behind it to insure your success. I must emphasize in learning another language, that one should get into real world materials as quickly as possible. The reason for this is that another language’s syntax and structure, among other things, can be picked up much more quickly and naturally this way. Textbooks are good for a start, however, out-of-date language and unnatural learning methods make them a bad choice in the long run. Additionally, many textbooks have slow language learning methods and will end up wasting you a lot of time!
