Wilco (the album) the newest Wilco CD, has been released at just the right time. In the wake of fan excitement about Ashes of American Flags, the timing on this new album is just right. Ashes of American Flags, the bands live DVD captures the mood and the music of Wilco’s 2008 bus journey across the US . A great look at not only the band, but also at the US , it really left fans wanting more.

Since I am a long time fan of Wilco I was, especially their albums over live performances, I was worried about all the controversy when Warner Bros. rejected the submission of this album. Along with other fans, through emails and letters, they became aware that more of Wilco was what wee wanted.

This is their seventh album, so it is a little hard to believe that anyone could doubt the reputation that they have made for themselves, but that is the business that they are in, sometimes it is not about the music you play, but who you know. In any case, after a slight delay, this, their seventh album, shows not only their talent and musical ability, but the maturity of a comfort with the music that you can feel from the first track to the last.

Many assumed that this self entitled album would be similar to the sound of Yankee Foxtrot Hotel, however it is more influenced by pop music of the 60′s and 70′s. It has more of the traditional sounds from Sky Blue Sky with tracks like “Sunny Feeling” and “You Never Know.”

The sound of this new album are the best yet. There is a mix of guitar strumming, big choruses and incredible slide guitar sounds, along with their first ever doubt “You and I.” Although similar sounding, every track has it own uniqueness that makes this band hotter then ever.

Lungs, the debut album by Florence and the Machine is a mix of soul, rock and indie music. It has received numerous five star reviews and one that that truly attracted me to the group was the amazing album cover.

“Dog Days are Over,” the albums opening track showcases the bands talents with a gentle sounds of soft vocals and harp tones. It leads into a thunderous crescendo and then cuts into a timid piano piece. It is a great way for the band to introduce themselves and their talents to the listeners and encourages people to look closely at the album as a whole.

Florence Welch really seems to know her stuff from dark and sullen to cosmic and exciting, she is an outstanding singer and songwriter. She even included a track entitled “Drumming Song” which has a more familiar retro sound, for those who prefer that music type.

This album is more towards the pop genre with its electric mixes. Two songs, that I feel will be the best for the year are “Rabbit Heart” and Hurricane Drunk”. If you are expected Lungs to be the one and only album for this band you will be completely mistaken. The musical talents of Florence & The Machine are non comparable to any new group of today and I predict another album release next year.

This band will pick up a fan base quickly and will have a long and successful career in the music industry. Lungs is an incredible album and one well worth purchasing if you enjoy music that is fresh and exciting. You wont be disappointed!

Blueberries are truly very great tasting fruits. They are even more popularized by the equally great tasting Blueberry Cheesecake. My brother is a huge fan of blueberry cheesecakes that he always sees to it that he can eat some whenever he passes by the mall.

As a culinary loving mom and daughter team, my daughter Maiah and I always manage to bake great tasting cake recipes every week. For this weekend we’re thinking of the possibility of creating our very own version of blueberry cheesecake. This ain’t hard and is actually not a tough cookie because there is actually a no-bake blueberry cheesecake handy recipe.

Maybe It truly is the essence of being a parent, you would do anything and everything just to see your kid growing up to be a civilized and well-mannered young citizen. I am particularly excited to bake and create our very own cheesecake. I always love seeing Maiah in action and doing the thing that she so loves to do. Her father Don and I always see to it that we contribute and support her in her talents and motivate her to excel in the things that she loves.

There are really many great things that can be done with Blueberry. At Wellborn, Florida there is a Blueberry Festival that gathers all Blueberry enthusiasts in one roof to experience it s unique taste. It can be eaten as it is or as a cake recipe. Blueberries are heaven-sent “berries”.

Road users come in all different forms, there are pedestrians, horse riders, cyclists and of course, drivers. The Highway Code is seen by all of these road users as the default set of rules for correct road behaviour.

Around a decade the motorcar was born, there were two million of them on the roads and in 1930 there were around 7300 deaths by road accidents. Considering that in 2006 there were around 3000 deaths by road accidents and over 20 million cars on the road, the 1930 statistics needed sorting out.

So, probably as a (direct or indirect) result of this, the Highway Code was born. Launched in 1931, it celebrated its 75th birthday in 2006, it has undergone many changes and updates over those years. For example the original version of the Code was a mere 24 pages long and contained information such as how to indicate when turning in your horse drawn carriage.

There was no mention of why driving drunk or tired was dangerous or any road signs or stopping distances and it cost one old penny. Included in the second edition, released in 1946, was advice on why you shouldn’t drive drunk or tired, and the first fifteen road signs to be put out on British roads made the debut appearance, only two of which we still use today.

Stopping distances however, did not get a mention until the edition that came out in 1954, along with a further sixteen road signs, bringing the total number to 31. When compared with today’s 170, its interesting to think what new signs might become commonplace on our roads in another sixty years.

The first version to include photographs and 3D images was the sixth version which came out in 1968, and these images were used to show braking distances. It also introduced the orange badges for disabled people and gave the Green Cross Code to pedestrians.

Then, the theory driving test was introduced in The 90′s, along with an update to the Code to include the information that new drivers need to pass it, hence this has now become part of the code itself.

So the Highway Code has been with us for around 78 years and during that time has become the key resource for driving laws, guidelines or advice. The newest law to be added of course being that you can’t use mobiles while driving. This just shows how the laws of the road have adapted to the changes in society.

It is also called traditional music for it carries the tradition and heritage of the early fathers of a certain country. What’s interesting about the traditional music is it carries in its notes some inkling of the history of the country. The music, instruments, and how the music is played usually tells you a lot about the country. Listening to it will give you a chance to share a bit about the countries culture and heritage.

Traditional Irish music is usually dance and classical music, their music is usually accompanied by the harp, horn pipes and Jigs. It is co notated with merry making and drinking that’s why the sound will induce the feeling of dancing and fun. The old music is now integrated in today’s modern music. Its local sound that has its own musical characteristics is now translated to modern popular music in forms of rock and others.
