If you grip your pick too tight then there is a chance that you will experience some fatigue. This is because your arm gets tired, and may even go numb. Your grip should be firm but not excessive, and if you do so you will be left with a great sound and an arm that isn’t completely tired out.

Of course you also need to make sure that you pick out the right pick for playing guitar. There are flat picks and finger picks, although most people use flat picks. There are various levels of flexibility to choose from when you need a pick as well. If you really want to have some fun then you should try learning some arpeggios. You likely have never heard of these, but they are a lot of fun. Not only are they fun, they are important in learning the proper way to play your guitar.

The problem with arpeggios is that you will not be able to use picks. You’ll actually need to use your fingers. Your thumb will be on the bass note, and your index will be on the third. Then you can use your middle on the second, and your ring finger on the top. You have four notes now and you need to learn to do it a bit faster. Once you master this form of playing, it will actually sound very nice.
