If you want to launch an effective advertising campaign, then you need a few very important things. You need to have a good name for your company that is memorable and sticks in people’s minds. You need to have a logo that fits in with the style and attitude of your business. Having a nice, catchy slogan or catchphrase is also a big plus. Now, you also have the potential to add a mascot to your company’s overall identity. While this doesn’t work for every situation, a well-designed mascot can really take an ad campaign to the next level.

There are several factors that go into designing the perfect mascot. The first aspect of any mascot is personality. By having a unique personality, a mascot provides your company with another way to separate itself from its competitors. The mascot’s style and personality should be a reflection of your company’s own, and should speak to the audience that you’re trying to attract.

Along the same lines, a mascot should be a representative of the company’s overall values and goals. These values should be reflected in the way the character looks and carries itself. Furthermore, if the character is more than just part of your logo and has a ‘speaking role’ in your advertising, then the characters voice and actions should reflect the company’s strong points.

We live in a very politically correct world, and many mascots have basically been forced into retirement because some element of their design was deemed offensive. For the most part it is not too difficult to avoid causing offense with your mascot, but just in case, it always pays off to do a little extra research.

Also, again, remember that not every company really needs a mascot. If your company is all about hard-lined professionalism, then a mascot will just seem at odds with what you’re trying to do. For the rest of the business out there, however, mascots are great ways to really take a brand to the next level and have it become a real cultural landmark.

A group of protesters converged outside an American Idol concert, being held in San Jose, California, this past Sunday. The purpose of their demonstration was to let all there be known, homosexuals are going to hell. The group is from a controversial and radical church located in Topeka Kansas. The Westboro Baptist Church, who’s website is God Hates Fags.com, talk about their mission to “hate” on their webpage……

Since 1955, Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) has taken forth the precious from the vile, and is therefore as the mouth of God (Jer. 15:19). In 1991, WBC took her ministry to the streets, conducting 41,002 peaceful demonstrations (to date) opposing the fag lifestyle of soul-damning, nation-destroying filth. In response, America bombed WBC & WBC on 8-2-2008. God is America’s enemy: 5,058 dead soldiers; crashing economy. America crossed the line on June 26, 2003, when the Supreme Court (the conscience of the nation) ruled in Lawrence v. Texas that we must respect sodomy. Michael Sarver was also present at the American Idol concert. Lambert And Sarver’s friendship was a direct effect of American Idol, and according to StarPulse.com, Sarver wrote on his Twitter.com page, “Funny how people think it’s a good idea to mess with a big Texan and his AI (American Idol) family. Adam is just fine, shakes it off and so should we. We are together in this thing. You mess with one you mess with all ten. We are strong and we are 1. For those outside protesting I say do not judge less ye be judged yourself. Guys don’t mind these people, we are a strong family.”

I must say how disappointed I am in the Westboro Baptist Church. The contents of their web site is so “Hate Oriented”. I thought the purpose of a “Christian Church” was to proclaim Jesus, love God, and love their fellow man. Well this is not what they are doing. They are going all over the place and preaching Hate. I don’t know about their “god”, but my God does not hate and would never tell his “children” to go out and preach for the devil.

These churches, that are completely radical and on the verge of becoming a modern day cult, are spreading their message of hate across America, and using God’s name to do it. Their are a lot of uneducated bigots not only in America, but all around the world who have and will continue to use hate as a weapon against others who have a different religious belief or who live a different lifestyle. The notion that hate can consume an individual or a group should not be taken lightly. All we have to do is clothes our eyes and look back in history to know that such things can and do happen.

The point I want to make is that we do live in America, and we do have a right to express our opinion. Even when our views and religious beliefs don’t agree with everyone elses. We are all entitled to freedom, so while we might not agree with churches like this, they will still exist. It is our job to inform others that hate is not the way to win. It is not the way to get your views across. It is not the way we should raise our children. Stand up, let your views be known, and tell people like this that hate is not right, that hate is not acceptable. Stand up and proclaim that you will refuse to hate and refuse to let hate dwell in your life. This is America, and we have the right to be free. Free from hate

A court reporter is one of the jobs that is most likely to continue, even in an economic downturn. Every court case and legal hearing needs to have a record made of what was said and done during the meeting and it’s the job of the reporter to keep track of everything. The records need to stand up in court proceedings and it’s necessary to have them be very accurate and carefully transcribed.

Where to Work

Once you have the educational credentials required, you will need to work. There are a number of areas where a court reporter is needed and not just during trials. There are a lot of legal meetings and hearings that are also required to be recorded for legal reasons, which necessitate hiring a reporter who is skilled at the job.

Since there are constant trials, meetings and other types of events that require the services of a reporter, there is usually quite a bit of work available and according to the Labor Board, the number of jobs will continue to grow at a fairly steady rate.

Getting an Education

In order to land this type of job, you do need to be educated in specific areas. It’s important to find out the requirements before you apply for a job, as the standards vary from state to state.

The majority of court reporters use stenographs, shorthand machines that allow the operator to type very quickly by pressing multiple keys at the same time. These devices are not intuitive, however, so training is required. Stenography training usually takes 3 years to complete. However, there are newer technologies that include a recording mask where the reporter speaks into a special mask that contains mics and describes or repeats everything that is going on in the room. This is later transcribed, either by a human or by a computer. Either way, training is still required.

In some states, it is required to become a certified court reporter or a notary public. Each of these also requires some studying, but the requisites vary from place to place. In some areas, you can do the studying at home and then take the test at school, it is worth checking into your options before committing to one option.

Depending on your state’s requirements, you may spend anywhere from 2-4 years studying and getting certified before being able to work in this field. Be sure to find out exactly what the requirements are, as you may be able to drastically reduce that time simply by crossing the state line.

Becoming a court reporter is not something you can do on a whim. It requires knowledge of the equipment you will be using, the ability to listen and transcribe in real time and a dedication to accuracy and time efficiency. While this may not be the career for some people, it can be an excellent one for those interested in criminal justice and law.

Long John Silver, Captain Hook, Black Sam, Black Bart and Jack Sparrow. The adventure and romance of pirates appeals to nearly everyone. The sad truth is that many pirates ate poorly, and often lived on bananas and limes. Very few actually became fabulously wealthy and many of them died at a young age.

There is probably a part of everyone, if they are honest, that loves pirates. There is such wonderful imagery surrounding the whole thing; the adventure, the romance and, of course, the epic battles with swords and muskets.

For a man the obvious possibilities would include- a black and white stripey top, a waistcoat, dark trousers/jeans with boots over the top and an eye patch. You might even go as far as a bandana but a parrot on the shoulder would probably only appeal to the brave. Don’t forget about authentic looking pirate weaponry (obviously not real or you’ll end up walking the plank!). Perhaps you could equip yourself with a plastic sword or musket. Behaviour at the event should be as realistic as possible with regular exclamations of ‘Aaarr!’ and, if it is a chilly evening, the odd ‘Shiver me timbers!’

Unless you are one of the few people to have not watched one of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ films then you will more than likely agree when I say that Mr Depp is perfectly cast as Captain Jack Sparrow. It would be incredibly difficult trying to imagine anyone else being able to play the role anywhere near as well as Depp. Who else could be quirky, camp, cool, sexy and funny all at the same time? Out of the many modern actors that we have in Hollywood today it has to be said that Johnny Depp must be one of the most versatile. The range of parts that he has played has been incredibly varied and impressive.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ films have each been received very positively by both adults and children alike. They are the equivalent of the hugely successful ‘Indiana Jones’ series with Harrison Ford. They are good family movies, something that is becoming harder to come across these days

Depending on how far you want to go with your party and how large an event you are planning on it being, there are all sorts of others things that you could do to add authenticity to the occasion. If you have your party during the months leading up to Christmas then you should be able to get hold of some chocolate gold coins. If you have an old storage box that looks a bit like a pirates treasure chest then put that in the room being used. Perhaps you can get hold of some sea-shells and bits of old netting to decorate the room.

In interviews, after the release of the first film in the series, ‘The Curse of the Black Pearl’, Johnny Depp confessed that he had partly modeled his character on aging rocker Keith Richards. Richards made a cameo appearance in the third film of the series, ‘At World’s End’, as Captain Teague who is actually Captain Jack Sparrow’s father. He was supposed to have made an appearance in ‘The Curse of the Black Pearl’ but the writers couldn’t manage to fit him into the story.

There are all sorts of possibilities for a really good party. Let your imagination go wild. Whether you are dressing in pirate garb for a fancy dress costume party or you are planning a themed evening with friends you can be sure that it will great fun!

Rather than go into a long winded explanation, let’s just say that a lucid dream is a dream just like any other dream, apart from the fact that with a lucid dream you actually know that you’re having a dream while it’s happening. Of course, the full extent of your lucidity depends on various factors such as the stability of the dream experience itself, the amount of influence you have an over the dream, and of course the amount of dream recall you have when you wake up.

It is this last point which is by all accounts the most astounding quality of a lucid dream, given that you are actually able to identify the fact that you’re busy having a dream. Is it not remarkable that one can actually control the direction of your dream, and that you’re not restricted in any way whatsoever?

Just for a moment to try and imagine what it must feel like, bearing in mind that by all accounts it feels, looks, and sounds exactly like a real life situation. However, the difference is, it’s only a dream. Unlike in the real world, one is not restricted by rules and regulations, and neither can one become injured and die in a lucid dream. The bottom line is; a lucid dream is yours. It is your personal virtual reality, and you can be rest assured that even the most sophisticated computers in the world can’t provide you with anything similar.

It simply cannot be denied that lucid dreaming is a skill which can only be described as being fantastic. It’s hardly surprising really that so many people are now longing to master the art of lucid dreaming. Interestingly enough, most people will have the occasional lucid dream but just imagine if you could experience one whenever you want.

Depending on your own personal desires, lucid dreaming can be your own private doorway to the most incredible experiences. From socializing with world famous celebrities, to visiting distant lands and exotic places, lucid dreaming opens up a whole new world of opportunity. In fact, one can even travel to the most distant planets of the universe or spend some quality time with loved ones who have already departed from this world.

By integrating this beam of light with the dream, it is hoped that the beam of light will serve to remind the subject that they are dreaming, thus providing them with an opportunity to try and control the direction of the dream.

In addition to the devices mentioned above, there have also been some marvelous developments in sound technology which by all accounts have quite literally opened the doors to the world of lucid dreaming. Essentially, this process helps to synchronize the two hemispheres of the human brain. Furthermore, once listening begins, rapid eye movement is almost instantaneous, thus paving the way for a lucid dream.
