This is a question that is asked by many all over the United States. With the way the economy is going today everyone is trying to do what ever they have to do to make that extra buck. I am no different from everyone else except I have done many trial and errors with garage sales to the point that I know what works and what does not!

People today mostly have garage sales to clean the clutter out of there home. Clutter in the home can be very overwhelming to say the least. People as humans love to keep everything they buy or what is given to them. Especially women! Once again I’m no different I try to keep everything. However now that the economy has gotten worst I had to clean the clutter out of my home to have a garage sale to make extra money to pay the bills.

After cleaning the clutter from the home and attic I noticed that I had a lot of valuable items that could bring some serious cash. So I being new to garage sales just picked a Saturday morning out and drug everything out and placed price tags on the stuff. Then I putted up a fairly big sign in the front and sat there and waited. To make a long story short I waited a long time and only made $30 my first garage sale. I was furious that I cleaned all of the clutter out for $30 and now have to put it back into the garage.

It was a big failure on my part not anyone Else’s. I read online all kinds of people making money having garage sales and wanted to do this too. So I found some books online about garage sales one of them was called One man’s junk another man’s treasure- the in’s and out’s of garage sales. This book gave me everything I needed to know on how to have the perfect garage sale and make money doing it. Now I’m going to share a little of this with you!

First off you want to have a garage sale on a day that you know people just got paid and have money. Mostly the first of the month is great! Next you want to make sure there is no other big event scheduled on that day either. Then you want to put up fliers all over the town announcing your garage sale. Then on the day of the sale make sure you pull everything out a few hours before the sale starts.

Make sure you have plenty of help on the day of the sale. Next you can price items or you don’t have to; by not pricing I’ve learn that this helps you in talking to the people and this makes more money! I’ve learn all of this from this book and more. I wonder what actually makes this show that it is, and what eventually intrigues its audience so much that they are constantly waiting to demystify its last season. Less than a month after his demolition of Japanese pop culture icon Bob Sapp, former WWE superstar turned MMA fighter Bobby Lashley has opted to return to the scripted world of professional wrestling. Lashley made his debut for #2 US wrestling promotion TNA on their Victory Road PPV in late July. Lashley had already made several on-camera appearances for the promotion, but the signing will mark his return to in-ring action. Lashleys last in-ring pro wrestling appearance came in Mexico on a show for Lucha Libre promotion AAA.

Hes not planning to give up his MMA career. In interviews prior to the TNA signing Lashley left open the possibility of a return to pro wrestling for its significant financial upside, while remaining committed to his shoot fighting efforts. Lashley trains in Florida with the prestigious American Top Team, and ran his record to 4-0 with his victory over Sapp in late June. A press release issued by TNA this morning further validated his suggestions that he planned to do both sports. Lashey himself is quoted as saying:

I want to do both because I can. TNA is giving me the opportunity to compete in both sports which I have a passion for. I will bring MMA fans to wrestling and wrestling fans to MMA

TNA President Dixie Carter also praised Lashley in announcing the signing:

This is a great opportunity for Bobby to do something that has never been done before. He is the perfect ambassador for both sports. We are excited to have him join TNA, he is a true star that brings so much to the table as a member of our roster.

TNAs claims that Lashley is the first active MMA fighter to compete full time in pro wrestling, however, is nothing but hyperbole. Its very common in Japan, though the Japanese fans for whatever reason are better able to compartmentalize an athlete competing in shoot fights like MMA while simultaneously appearing in worked (eg: pre-determined) pro wrestling contests. In fact, Josh Barnett, originally slated to face Fedor Emelianenko at the ill fated Affliction: Trilogy event still makes several appearances a year for Antonio Inokis Inoki Genome Federation (IGF) promotion. Lashley isnt even the first to pull the feat in the US, though hes definitely the highest profile fighter/wrester to turn the trick since MMAs overwhelming boom in popularity. Dan The Beast Severn at one point simultaneously held the UFC heavyweight title and the NWA heavyweight title in pro wrestling.

Lashley abruptly left the WWE in early 2008 under some degree of controversy. He indicated at the time that his departure was not of his own volition but due to circumstances beyond his control. Making this assertion more curious was the fact that Lashley had been used in high profile storylines by the WWE and was very popular among fans. Unlike most wrestlers leaving the promotion Lashley wasnt subject to a standard non-compete agreement. There has been speculation that he may have left in response to a racial incident, though neither Lashley nor the WWE has ever confirmed the reason for his departure.

At the time he was released from the WWE, Lashley began training for MMA building on an extensive background of amateur wrestling from both college and the military. The UFC took a pass on Lashley due to the perception that they couldnt market him successfully so soon after Brock Lesnars debut. Lashley certainly has the physical gifts to compete at the highest level in MMA at 63 and 250 lbs. Some even suggest that he may have more potential than Lesnar due to a possible edge in speed and agility. Lesnars recent unification of the UFC heavyweight title and amazing surge in mainstream popularity may give the promotion reason to take a second look at Lashley”they need credible opponents for their new heavyweight champion, but have to be careful not to put him in a position where his inexperience in certain components of MMA wont be exploited lest they kill the proverbial golden goose.

It’s a treat for lyrical devotees, even if it isn’t exact Discharged after squatting on the ledge for 5 years, redone by Francis Ford Coppola; Ritchie’s rendition, with extra melodies, is on the Digital video disc. There are two ways to look at a pregnancy. Some women think of it as a time when they are unbelievably fat and unattractive, while others view it as a time of utmost and almost otherworldly beauty. It’s really the latter group that has the right of it. A woman’s pregnancy is one of the most special times in her life, and it should be enjoyed, celebrated, and remembered. Getting some maternity photography taken is a fantastic idea, but it has to be done just right. One important part of that is choosing the right clothes – or lack thereof.

A lot of women who are having maternity photos taken opt to do so in their birthday suits, or topless with some flattering underwear. This really plays in to the purity and beauty that is a woman with child. Obviously not every woman is going to be comfortable with that idea, but keep in mind that naked doesn’t have to mean exposed. You can always shoot from different angles or cover up the most private areas with an arm while still presenting that beautiful form. However, if that isn’t something that the mom-to-be is into, there are plenty of clothing options.

When choosing clothes, keep in mind that the primary focus of any maternity photo should be on the woman’s belly. At the very least, this area should be open and exposed to the world. That means any tops should be open around the midriff area – obviously a belly shirt isn’t really the thing to go for, but a flyaway blouse or something similar is great. Even just a normal shirt rolled up over the stomach can look really good. Make sure that the clothes are not too loose; otherwise the belly will not appear as defined.

Bottoms are also important. If mom doesn’t want to make memories in your ‘pregnancy pants,’ she might take her favorite pair of jeans instead and just wear them unzipped. There’s nothing wrong with getting a little sexy in a maternity photo shoot. Obviously, sexuality is a big element of pregnancy, and it should be celebrated as such.

One important piece of ‘clothing’ that is sometimes overlooked is the woman’s partner. While motherhood and parenthood are two very different things, the special connection that two people share when they have a baby together should also be honored. The mom-to-be’s partner should be in some shots, showing their deep love and affection for mom and the baby to come. For that matter, including newborn photography in the whole family in some pictures can be a great idea.

Ultimately, there are relatively few ‘wrong answers’ when it comes to choosing clothing and accessories for a photo shoot. Whatever type of clothes speak to the mother should work perfectly. If she wants to stay casual, then casual clothes are great. If she wants to celebrate her more matronly qualities, then a nice maternity dress is just as good. There’s no reason to shy away from a little experimentation and variation in order to get some perfect pictures.

Today’s kid parties are not like they used to be, and if you have your party at a party venue, expect to pay dearly.

Living on Long Island, I have searched many possibilities for my daughter’s birthday. The average is $350-$400 for 12-15 kids. Each additional child after is $15 (that seemed to be the norm.) Most parties are only 1- hours (I only found a couple that were 2 hrs.) If you don’t have a problem with the cost of the party, then make sure you can bring your own outside food in for the adults, which seems to be the catch.

Only 2 out of about 10 places allowed you to bring in your own food. Otherwise you would have to buy the food from the facility, which is extremely expensive. I had to laugh when I saw the price of a small vegetable platter for $45, and a gallon of water for $5. Are they crazy? And the best is that they include the pizza and drinks for kids but no cake. If you choose to bring in your own cake they charge a $15 serving fee! Well of course your going to bring a cake to your child’s party.

After going to many parties, I’ve been able to get ideas that are so simple and inexpensive, that you can do in the comforts of your home. If your having a lot of people then you may want to check your local legion hall to rent.

Pirates and Princess Party

This will definitely work for both boys and girls. Make sure to write on invitation the theme so the kid’s will come dressed up. Don’t worry if someone RSVPs that the child doesn’t have a pirate costume. Tell them to wear a white shirt and black pants, and that you will supply themrest. Oriental Trading carries pirate hats, eye patches, chocolate coins and many more items that would make for a great party. They also have “Mardi Gras” necklaces, which you can get in bulk and use for the treasure. You can make your own treasure box or buy a cardboard one from OT. For the girls OT sell tiaras, wands, and anything else you can think of. And most girls have a princess costume, and if they don’t they can just wear a dress. Once they put on their accessories they will look like a beautiful princess. And the best part is that the pirate hats, tiaras, jewels, and coins that you give to the children at the party will double duty as there party favors to take home.

Winter Wonderland

If your child’s birthday is in the winter then why not have a gingerbread house for each child to decorate. This could be a little pricier, but still much cheaper then having the party out. The local craft store usually has them on sale between $5-$8 each. And if the party is after Christmas, you’ll be able to get them even cheaper (usually half price). You’ll have to assemble them the day before so the houses will set. Then when your guests arrive, they will be able to decorate. The Wilton brand gingerbread house comes with grooves in the base to stand the walls up, making it much easier to assemble. It also comes with a lot of candy for decorating. I usually have a lot left over.

If your having a Christmas party, then you can certainly use the gingerbread house or gingerbread tree. The tree is definitely more for the holidays then birthdays, and are usually cheaper then the gingerbread houses.

Princess Spa Party

This party seems to be the biggest hit when it comes to little princesses. It is so easy and unbelievably inexpensive to do at home. I’ve checked into these parties and couldn’t believe what they were charging. For the price the party places charge for one kid, you can probably spend on your whole party. You’ll need hairpins, combs or brushes, nail polish, nail files and depending on the age, lip-gloss, blush and eye shadow. The dollar store is a great place to get all of these. You can usually get an assortment of combs that have 10- 15 combs in one pack.

Every little girl loves pink or glitter nail polish. You have a couple of options. Either get a few different shades of pink and a few different bottles with glitter, and let the girls pick which one they want. Or you can get a little French manicure set for each child which will have a base coat/top coat, main color, (either pink, beige or purple) and white. I’ve bought them at Dollar Tree.

If you get all the same color, than the girls wont fight over it. And what’s nice is that they come in a box, and you can write the child’s name on it, not to get confused with anyone else’s and it will be part of there favor to take home. Use a different comb for each girl when you are styling their hair, and put the comb in their favor bag. The same goes for the make up. After the hair, make up and nails are done, the girls will have a nice collection of favors to take home.

Silly Hat Tea Party

Tell every guest to wear a silly, big hat. (Borrowing one from mom would work great) Set up the table with faux china, teacup’s, and teapot. Iced tea would put a twist on things, and you wouldn’t have to worry about anyone getting burned. Have the children decorate the table by making fake flowers out of the bottom of egg cartons. Cut the bottom of the egg carton into individual pieces (where each egg spot is). Punch a little whole in the center and use a green pipe cleaner to put through the whole to make the stem.

The foam cartons work best and the greatest thing is that they usually come in white, yellow, pink or blue. If you have the cardboard kind, that’s ok too. The children can color or paint them. Place a separate vase in front of each child; putting the flowers that they made inside, this will be there favor.

To make the vase even more personal, get a clear vase in which the kids can write there name with a paint marker, and let the kids pick a colored ribbon that they would like to tie around the neck of the vase. Serve finger sandwiches and cupcakes instead of a cake and have each child frost and decorate their own.

Dating advice is abundant: it’s on the Internet, in magazines, books, newspapers and on the TV. Dating advice is so easy to give that an eight-year-old even wrote a book about it. (That child is intelligent and ought to be sought after by the girls, because while fundamental, all of his dating advice is true. If you have read the book, you would be forced to admit that that eight-year-old child does know what he is proposing (no pun intended): that is to keep everything straightforward. And that it in a nutshell when it comes to dating, keep things simple.

Leave your past in the past. There’s a reason it’s called the past. The first thing any giver of dating advice would tell you is that a fresh start is important for a date to go well. Boring your date with tales of the ex’s misdeeds is a definite no-no. Don’t let old grudges get in the way of new opportunities.

‘Be yourself’ is probably the best dating advice possible. It’s true that people like to put their best foot forward, and impress their date, but if they aren’t their usual selves, not only will they feel uncomfortable, but their date will pick up on the uneasy vibes as well.

Making sure that your expectations are neither too high nor nor too low is also good dating advice. If you expect too much out of one date, or of the person you are dating, it is bound to be disappointing. Even your date is only human, and first dates are notorious disasters.

One of the most frequently asked questions is: who foots the bill? The consensus in dating advice is that he/she who suggested the date pays. However, other people declare that it’s better to go Dutch every time and avoid hassles. There is yet another school of thought on dating advice that suggests that the man is not a “gentleman” if he doesn’t pick up the tab. In the case of a difference of policy between you and your date, come to a compromise that is mutually acceptable.

Probably texting your date before your meeting is smart dating advise as it puts him or her at ease and allows you to discuss interests or hobbies in a much more informal way and less tense environment than your first date would be. That would allow you to use this as common ground when things get awkward (as they generally do on the first few dates unless there is an instant rapport) and get the conversation going again.

The most important bit of dating advice though, is to remember that no one date is a deal-breaker. No date is the end, so if one doesn’t work out, why worry, there will be others. And if they doesn’t work, there are plenty of other people to go out with.

A sudden cacophony of 4 different mobile phones starting to ring within seconds of each other inside an elevator of a 30 storey building. And 4 different ring tones . a religious shloka, the latest bit of rap, a baby screaming and a Carpenter’s hit. I don’t know whether to laugh or scream (mine wasn’t one of the ones ringing!).

I don’t know about you but this seems to happen more often than not okay the location may change to a bus, the metro or even an extremely long queue. How I long for the tring – tring of the original phone ring sound! And I strenuously object to some of the disgusting and even obscene sounds that a minority of individuals keep as their ring tones, possibly to just draw attention to themselves and / or shock people.

A ring tone is the name given to the sound made by a telephone, whether mobile or fixed line, to announce an incoming call or text message. Most of these sounds, especially those that do not have a tune should actually be called ring sounds as the word ring ‘tone’ becomes a misnomer. After considerable research it was discovered that there was a tendency for a person to wait till the end of the ring to pick up the receiver. For this reason the ring – pause – ring system evolved. Of course now, melody based ring tones play the whole snippet of a song so the pause doesn’t apply.

The first telephones had a bell which made a ‘ring’ing sound when struck by a hammer, operating electromagnetically, to announce a call. While this system is still common, most cell phones and modern land line phones have advanced from the ring to producing different kinds of sounds. Towards the late 1980s mechanical ring tones were slowly getting replaced by electronic ones progressing from single tones to those playing two, three or more tones and then on to melodies.

The Japanese started providing customised ring tones on mobile phones in 1996 with a number of options, both customised and pre-recorded. Downloadable ring tones were available from 1998 and this service has now become an enormously successful industry right across the globe. The concept of real tones came in late 2002 and are usually taken from popular songs.

Though I am probably a fish out of water in my dislike of the fancy ring tones you get to hear all over the place these days, I do know of individuals who are similarly ‘old fashioned’. I understand that there have been cases filed for wrongful, deceptive use of advertisement to promote and sell ring tones to customers. These were primarily related to whether the ring tones that were downloaded were supposed to be ‘free’ or whether a service provider should charge for non-communication related charges, like downloading ring tones, but no case has so far to challenge the ring tones themselves. I wonder whether I should be the one to bell the cat or leave it for someone else?
