Wicked is an amazing musical, and a storyline you are sure to love. The story is based off of the original movie of the 1939 movie, The Wizard of Oz. Wicked is the story of how The Wicked Witch of the West got so wicked.

As I sat attended this performance, my thoughts were continually drawn back to the opera glasses I was using for the performance. The costumes through the glasses were delightful, the singing amazing, the characters entrancing, and stage props amazing. Without opera glasses I am sure that I would have missed out on much of the performance, so to full enjoy the experience when you attend, make sure you remember to bring them.

As you begin the story, you start to learn the origin of The Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda the Good Witch Really was. You will learn about the childhoods’ of each of these women, this is a story that is sure to surprise.

In the performance of Wicked you find the story going to many twists and turns. As the play begins we begin to see the childhoods’ of both the Good Witch, and Wicked Witch. We see that Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) had a terrible upbringing, you find out that she was born with green skin, for which she was tormented constantly by those around her, you find that she was raised by her father, and had no mother to take care of her. Also you find that Glinda (the Good Witch) was born to a rich family, and as it turns out, was nothing more than a spoiled brat. At the end of the performance you attend, you are sure to be bombarded with opportunities to buy merchandise from the show, of all the things you are sure to be offered, I do recommend purchasing a CD of the music, as you will want to listen to it over and over again.

If you would like to see one of the most popular musicals in years, Wicked is the performance to see, it has won many national and international awards including a Tony! If you don’t believe me, simply find a friend or relative who has seen it, and listen to them rave. When you finally go, make sure you bring your opera glasses to make the show as wonderful as possible.

Wicked has been hailed as the masterpiece of the year. As this article is being written, Wicked is on its second national tour. Wicked has broken records in box office after box office. As of yet if you have not seen Wicked, you are missing a wonderful show, that you will not soon forget. Buy tickets as soon as possible, although, truth be told, you will have plenty of opportunities to see the performance, as I am sure it will be around for years. Opera glasses are the best way to enjoy Wicked the musical.

Oxfam is under fire from second hand book dealers. It is rare that organisations feel the need criticise such a well loved charity as Oxfam. But things have got so bad for second hand book dealers that they are willing to speak out and claim that Oxfams charity bookshops are putting them out of business.

Book dealers claim that Oxfam is the “Tesco of the second hand book market” and that the unfair competition from Oxfam is responsible for the closure of many seconds hand book shops in recent years.

Since opening its first second hand book shop in 1987 Oxfam now has 121 second hand bookshops in different parts of the country, selling over 19 million pounds worth of books lat year, and is considered the largest retailer of second hand books in Europe.

The basis of the book dealer’s argument is that Oxfam is able to compete unfairly in the marketplace, they get staffing for free on the most part, they do not have to pay for stock and they get an 80% reduction in business rates.

Oxfam have responded by stating that in an open market there are many other factors currently affecting the viability of second hand book sellers, such as lower new book prices, and the ability to purchase second hand books online. To single out Oxfam for blame and the decline of the industry is unfair.

It is unclear what action the second hand book industry wishes to be taken, Do they want Oxfam banned from selling books, do they object to a charity receiving charity status? Do they wish for free product and staffing to be awarded to themselves by general populace so they can personal profit?

Anxiety is considered to be a natural reaction to stress. It can help a person cope with a difficult situation, for instance at school or at work, by prompting one to deal with it. When anxiety becomes excessive, it may fall under the classification of an nervousness disorder.

Anxiety has a physiological and psychological nature characterized by emotional, somatic, cognitive and behavioral components. These components combine to create an unpleasant feeling that is typically associated with uneasiness, fear, or worry.

An anxiety panic attack often occurs without an identifiable triggering stimulus. As such, it is distinguished from fear, which occurs in the face of an observed danger. Furthermore, fear is related to the neurotic behaviors of escape and avoidance, whereas anxiety is the consequence of threats that are perceived to be unavoidable and uncontrollable.

A competing view perceives anxiety as “a future-oriented state of mind” in which one is prepared to attempt to cope with imminent negative events. This implies that it is a distinction between future vs. present dangers that divides anxiety and fear.

Anxiety can be accompanied by physical effects such as heart palpitations, fatigue, nausea, chest pain, shortness of breath, stomach aches, or headaches. Physically, the body prepares the organism to deal with a threat. Blood pressure and heart rate are intensified, blood flow to the major muscle groups is increased, sweating is increased, while digestive and immune system functions are inhibited (the fight or flight response). External symptoms of anxiety often include sweating, trembling, pale skin and dilation of the pupils. An anxiety sufferer might also experience it as a sense of dismay or terror.

In addition to the somatic symptoms, several emotional signs are involved also. Those are not limited to: “Feelings of apprehension or dread, trouble concentrating, feeling jumpy or tense, anticipating the worst, irritability, restlessness, watching (and waiting) for occurrences of danger, and, feeling like the mind’s gone blank”. There’s also, “bad dreams/nightmares, obsessions about sensations, deja vu, a trapped in your mind feeling, and feeling like everything is scary”.
