The Xbox 360 above the rest
Gaming console wars have been going on for quite a long time, weather it was Texas Instruments Vs Atari, Nintendo Vs Sega, and Xbox Vs Playstation 2. However a new breed of consoles have started when Microsoft came out with the Xbox 360 taking the next step forward in gaming. This console was said to be a step above anything anyone had seen with the Playstation 2, Nintendo GameCube, or even the regular Xbox.
It was the best thing on the market for about a year, but as the gaming console wars continued, Sony and Nintendo looked for competing versions. This was when people were spending hours standing in a long line in hopes to get themselves or their kids one for Christmas. Once the Playstation 3 and Wii surfaced, it became a difficult task for gamers to figure out which one they should buy. While all of them have strengths and weaknesses, here’s how the Xbox 360 compares to the other two consoles.
Comparing the Xbox 360 with Nintendo’s Wii console is like comparing apples and oranges. The Xbox 360 clearly surpasses the Wii in terms of graphics simply because the Wii doesn’t concentrate in that area. But with the Wii having some similar gaming titles as the Xbox 360, the real judging goes down to the controls.
The Xbox 360 controller allows it to be a bit easier to play most games like first person shooters, sports game, or other top Xbox 360 exclusive games. The Wii’s primary selling point to their system is the motion controller’s and while its a good piece of technology, it makes some of the first person shooter games and sports games a bit hard to play.
The Wii has been known to have titles that are geared more for an audience of all ages, while the Xbox 360 has been known to cater a bit more to the older audience. Most every system has a few game makers that cater only to that system, however the Wii is said to have special first-person titles designed strictly for their console to generate a new audience.
If you really want the best comparison you have to look at the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 continues to impress with its array of visuals that are comparable to PC games that have higher standard video cards, even though the PS3 takes the category because of Blu-Ray support. When looking at the consoles as a whole it is very easy to conclude that the consoles are both highly graphical and look alike to the general eye. If you want to burn xbox 360 games try it out here.
However, if you’re looking for more exclusive franchises, then the PS3 takes the cake. Then again, if you’re looking for more exclusive titles you’ll want to get a Xbox 360. While we’re unsure of a true winner in this area, we will tell you that the Xbox 360 holds more titles and more positive ratings. So we might want to give them a slight edge over their competition.
But no console is very far behind this time. Still, the Xbox 360 still impresses in terms of both software and hardware features. It won’t eliminate the console wars any time soon, but the Xbox 360 is still a powerful system where you can play loads of great games.
