This was the time when the console wars really heated up and now gamers are spending more time deciding which console deserves their money savings. It is a tough battle because each console pretty much has their own unique strengths. Here is how the Xbox 360 weights in against the other two consoles.

When comparing the 360 to the Nintendo Wii, there really isn’t a comparison. Just take a look at the graphics from each console at your local gaming store and you’ll see how far ahead the Xbox 360 is in this department. While this may be true, there are similar titles that can be played on both systems, so you ought to compare the controls.

The Xbox 360 controller allows it to be a bit easier to play most games like first person shooters, sports game, or other top Xbox 360 exclusive games. Jive is a lively, fun, fast, and quite bouncy dance. It requires a lot of bouncy movements, kicks and flicks, and is very energy intensive. Because of this, it’s an excellent form of exercise and a great way to get into shape.

Today, Jive is danced and enjoyed throughout the world. In Ballroom dancing, it’s one of the five dances in the International Latin American competitions. In this article we’re going to take a brief tour through the history of Jive.

Jive is a relatively young dance. It originated in the U.S. in the 1940s from early swing dances such as Jitterbug, Boogie-Woogie, Lindy Hop, and alike. It shares many movements with those dances like underarm turns, swivels, and so on.

During the World War II American G.I’s brought the dance with them to Europe. It soon became very popular, especially among the young. It was new, fresh, and thrilling, although it didn’t appeal to many conservative dancers.

The dance that we now know as Modern Jive was adapted by the French. It was a bit simplified and mixed with the traditional Latin dances. In 1968 it was adopted as the fifth dance in the International Latin competition. This, of course, doesn’t imply that it originated from Latin America.

Modern Jive can be danced to almost any music style from Jazz to rock, as long as there is a regular beat. Music for Jive is usually written in 4/4 time (four beats to a measure) and is quite often fast.

The basic Jive steps are very easy. They follow a simple six beat sequence and consist of a rock step, chasse to the left and chasse to the right.

Today, Jive is still very popular all over the world. It’s fun, upbeat, energetic, and definitely worth a try.

It happens when you dream and it’s happening AGAIN! The remake of Wes Craven’s cult classic “Nightmare On Elm Street” wrapped production on July 10, 2009 and it’s set to hit theaters on April 16, 2010. Are you ready? You may never sleep again!

One, Two…Freddy’s Coming For You….Originally released in 1984, Wes Craven’s and New Line Cinema’s production of Nightmare On Elm Street featured a group of high school students being victimized in their dreams by the ghost of child murderer, Freddy Krueger. Grossing over $25 million at U.S. box offices, Nightmare became one of the most popular horror movies of the genre, with it’s villian, Freddy Krueger, becoming almost a household name. The premise of the film – Is never sleeping again the only way to end the terror?

Three, Four…Better Lock Your Door… The origin of Nightmare On Elm Street lies in several experiences from Wes Craven’s childhood. His inspiration for the basis of the film lies in several articles printed by the LA Times on a group of Cambodian refugees and their children, who were were suffering horrific nightmares, after which they refused to sleep. Acting on medical advice, their parents encouraged them to do so. However, each of the children died in their sleep soon after, following the second dream. The name for serial child murderer, Freddy Krueger, was taken from a bully that Craven went to school with, Fred Krueger. And, initially, Fred Krueger was intended to be a child molester but the character was changed to a child murderer due to some highly publicized child molestation cases that were going on in California at the time of production.

Five, Six…Grab Your Crucifix…Just who, exactly, IS Freddy Krueger? And why is he terrorizing our children?! IMDb has this to say about dear Freddy: Frederick Charles Krueger is the product of the violent rape of the nun Amanda Krueger by one hundred raving maniacs. Called Freddy, he was constantly ridiculed for his infamous and brutal conception. He began murdering small animals, and as he matured, he turned his masochistic behavior on himself. After suffering abuse from his stepfather for many years, he murdered him with a razor. After he was captured for his string of grizzly murders, he was unexpectedly freed on a technicality. The enraged parents of Springwood, OH then took the law into their own hands. They burned Krueger’s hideout, with him inside, to the ground. Ever since that night, Krueger has taken his revenge on the parents of Springwood by stalking their children through their dreams.

Seven, Eight…Gonna Stay Up Late… This new incarnation of Nightmare On Elm Street is being produced by Platinum Dunes and will keep the original high school setting. This version will give us more information on Freddy’s background and the psychology behind his murderous nature. The reboot, directed by Samuel Bayer and written by Wesley Strick, (“Arachniphobia” , “Cape Fear”) based on Wes Craven’s own adaptation, portrays Freddy as a child molester, the way Craven originally intended. Fans of the franchise who doubted the remake’s success with anyone other than Englund in the starring role are applauding the casting of Jackie Earl Haley as the new Freddy Krueger. Oscar nominee Haley earlier this yeared rocked in his roll of Rorschach in Watchmen, quashing all doubts about this new Elm Street’s success. Coincidentally, Haley auditioned for a role in the original Nightmare On Elm Street but was beat out by his friend, Johnny Depp, who just went along for the company!
