Enjoy Paris City Breaks
Paris is the perfect location for romantic city breaks or a short getaway with your family. It has always been an easy city to access for short breaks, but now that the Eurostar only takes two and a quarter hours from London there is no excuse not to take a break here – you could even go for a day and night out and make it back home in 24 hours.
Staying for only one day is really pushing it a bit, but it is more than feasible, however what could be better than popping off to the City of Light for a quick weekend away. You don’t have to trouble yourself with hours and hours of traveling time, just plan a weekend of sleep, walking, fun, good food and wine, great views and shopping of course.
Paris is all about art, fun, walking, great views, food, wine and of course shopping. The Louvre has been there forever and will more than likely remain forever, so if only have a short time, forget about it for the time being, set a day aside in the future for that visit. Chose carefully what you want to do!
You may have a favorite quartier of the city and if so make sure you stay there, if not then try the Rive Gauche. However don’t do the Rive Gauche on a Sunday or Monday as many of the facilities are closed on these two days, including museums and shops.
Choose ahead of time what restaurants you want to visit and try to avoid the Brassiers. Many of these have become chain managed restaurants and the food is very predictable and in some instances awful.
LeTimbre is a privately owned restaurant with a stunning view, it is very small, owned and managed by a self taught chef from Manchester. He manages to cook for 24 people and run his restaurant with absolutely no help and the food is divine. La Cerisaie is also a genuine privately owned restaurant with a cupboard sized kitchen which manages to produce the food of the gods.
