Close Your Eyes: Scotland Yard investigator Henderson draws hypnothethapist Visnjic into a difficult case engaging a serial murderer and a little gal who’s been shocked frombeing held hostage by him. Mixing occult factors with a whodunit, this unique, sincerely scary thriller stays on target right to the end. Cast includes Goran Visnjic, Shirley Henderson, Miranda Otto, Paddy Considine, Claire Rushbrook, Fiona Shaw, Coon Redgrave, and Sophie Stuckey (103 minutes, 2003)

Living amongst these great people he comes to believe in the way of the Samurai. He winds up fighting on their side, with all of his heart.

Sugar Town : Entertaining mosaic of LA life characterizing a handful of characters whose lives dovetail: a music-planet wannabe who’ll do anything to get ahead, an uptight lone lady who allures the incorrect men like a magnet, and a band made up of cleaned-up’ 80s stone megastars, to name a few. Tiny, made on a shoestring, although acute and well recognized; excellent cast contains a number of genuine-life musicians. Cast includes Supporter Sheedy, Rosanna Arquette, John Taylor, Jade Gordon, Michael Des Barres, Lucinda Jenney, and Martin Kemp. (92 minutes, 1999)

Who says the French cant be Spanish? Witness the Paso Doble. Meaning double step in Spanish, this ballroom dance for couples is set to Spanish march music that is reminiscent of a bullfight in the heart of Spain. It is the same style of music that is played when a bullfighter enters the ring to salute the audience before the fight, and again at the end of the fight, just before the kill. This assumes, of course, that the bull doesnt win the fight.

The dance is lively and dramatic, with long sweeping steps and aggressive movements. It is a dance of preparation for battle and triumph in combat, just like the bullfights that inspired it. The male represents the matador, boldly and proudly entering the ring. The female represents the matadors cape, which he whips around with graceful elegance. The female also takes on the role of the bull or an adoring senorita dancing Flamenco. The tempo is brisk and measured but not fast, being about one beat per second. What truly makes this dance is the energy one puts into it and the level of dancing skill.

The Paso Doble as we know it today was invented in Southern France, and Pierre Lavelle made it popular with the upper crust of Paris in the 1930s. The close proximity to Spain was undoubtedly its inspiration. Although the French copied the Spanish music and movements, they named the steps in French. The Sur Place and Huit, for example. The dance is an elaborate pantomime of a bullfight, where the matador dances proudly around, confronts his enemy (the bull) and eventually emerges victorious. Movements by the male are proud and quick, in strong defiance, while the hand and arm gestures (particularly of the female) are often graceful and fluid.

This is not a dance for a crowded dance floor, as it necessarily takes up a lot of room. It is a dance to be watched and enjoyed, usually at exhibitions, performances or competitions. Youre not likely to find a knowledgeable partner standing by the wall at your local disco. It is a performance dance.

Experienced dancers find the Paso Doble challenging but extremely rewarding. Being theatrical in nature, it requires a great deal of showmanship, if not acting ability. Very similar to the Flamenco, it requires a haughty and confident attitude for the male.

The United States first began taking notice of the dance in the 1930s, however it has never really caught on in the English-speaking countries because it is not a dance you can do without a lot of experience. For this reason, it is a great opportunity for seasoned dancers to learn something novel that will be received well by audiences.

A dynamic dance that requires extensive professional training, the Paso Doble is not a dance for the uninitiated. If you are a strong performer, however, few dances are as impressive or stylistic. If the conqueror is in your blood, step up to the challenge. Ole! N’est-ce pas?

Lost Boundaries: This is a penetrating, well-meaning if dull-moving account of a committed, light skinned Negro physician (Ferrer, in his debut) who (with his family) passes for white in a tiny New Hampshire town. Cast includes Beatrice Pearson, Mel Ferrer, Richard Hylton, Susan Douglas, Canada Lee, Rev. Robert Dunn, and Carleton Carpenter. (99 minutes, 1949)

Airmail: Daring tale of pioneer airmail guides supercharged by fine aerial scenes and excellent cast. A first rate film. Cast includes Pat O’Brien, Ralph Bellamy, Russell Hopton, Thin Summerville, Frank Albertson, and Gloria Stuart. (83 minutes, 1932)

Daniel Boone: Alright action venture detailing a chapter in the life of the legendary pioneer and his leading of some settlers west from North Carolina into Kentucky. O’Brien is well cast in the title role Cast includes George O’Brien, Heather Angel, John Carradine, Ralph Forbes, and Clarence Muse. (75 minutes, 1936)

Straight Out of Brooklyn: The story of a black family’s going nowhere existence in the ghettos of Brooklyn, N.Y., and the oldest son’s plan to rob a local drug dealer to turn tings around for the family. Cast includes George T. Odom, Ann D. Sanders, Lawrence Gilliard, Jr., Barbara Sanon, Reana E. Drummond, and Mark Malone. (91 minutes, 1991)

Fracture: Hopkins plays a cold, determining gentleman who shoots his spouse once he finds she’s been in bed with an L.A.P.D. lieutenant. However there is no definative proof, which makes the case a perfect one for partner D.A. Gosling, who’s just getting ready to move on to a cushy job at a high-end law firm. After much aggravation, I finally figured out how to fix my Xbox 360 after it got the dreaded red ring of death. I can’t believe that over half of Xbox 360 owners have been hit with this ring. Talk about a faulty product!

I was at my house with some friends on Friday night, and we were all having a great time. It was all about Madden 10 as some preseason football games were on in the background. Then, the screen suddenly froze. I had a bad feeling.

We tried turning it back on, and it was exactly what I was fearing in the back of my mind: the dreaded Red Ring of Death (aka the “RROD”). Seriously, what a way to ruin a weekend! We were all pretty bummed to say the least.

How’s that for a buzz kill?! Even worse, one of our friends over had sent his back to Microsoft last year, and they took two months before he got it back (not to mention a nice little bill they charged him). This can often cost over $100 to have it fixed by Microsoft. You’d almost be better off buying a new one.

Luckily, I have a bunch of friends who know a lot about these things, and I decided to text one of them. He got back to me and recommended a repair kit that his brother used just a few months ago. Said it worked like a charm.

Interestingly, they guaranteed you’d have it fixed in under an hour by following some easy instructions, or they’d give you all of your money back. Why not? What’s to lose besides a little time?

Just 25 minutes later I was the proud owner of a working Xbox 360 again. I followed their suggestions to a t and they worked. I was kind of surprised that Microsoft couldn’t provide this info to its owners, but I guess that comes with the territory when you’re a corporate giant.

I don’t trust Microsoft’s products anymore, but hopefully my red ring days are in the past. If it does come back (I’m sure it will with my luck), I have this guide to get me through the issues, and I’ll probably have it fixed in half the time next time around.

I would definitely recommend buying this guide if you find yourself in my position. It saved me money, headaches, and most importantly, time. Good luck!

The human mind is undeniably the most magnificent, and the most powerful thing in the universe, and the sheer power of the subconscious mind should never be underestimated. Irrespective what a person says or does, it all originates from the mind. In some cases, your actions are manifested on a subconscious level.
