It doesn’t matter if you are the bridesmaid or maid of honor, if you have to write a speech it can be really hard at times. That is why I now have gathered these 5 golden tips for you, so you can have it a lot easier when writing your wedding speech. These tips should give you a good idea about what to put in your wedding toast, to make the bride, groom and everybody else at the wedding happy.
Tip 1: Starting on your speech
The beginning of your toast is crucial; you have to make a good impact on people, and when you start on your bridesmaid wedding speech, they have to immediately know who you are. Therefore it’s a very good idea to begin with introducing yourself, and how you know the bride and the groom. Make sure there is no doubt about who you are, before you start speaking about the bride.
Tip 2: Be careful with humor
Humor is a killer in every bridesmaid wedding speech; but be careful. It would be very bad to over-do this part of you speech, as you can easily embarrass or humiliate the bride, groom or maybe some guests. Also keep it sober for the kids, grandparents and other guests.
Tip 3: Be nice to the groom
When the best man makes his toast, he will usually take some time off to compliment the bride. Make sure you do the same thing, to show that the bride have found a great husband, and to show that you really support the bride in her marriage.
Tip 4: Its not your day, but the bride’s
Now the most important job for you, as a bridesmaid, is to act and speak on behalf of the bride. If there are many guests at the wedding, they will not see the bride all the time, but they will see a lot of the bridesmaids, and that is why you need to act and speak on behalf of the bride. Make sure everybody knows how happy she is on her big wedding day.
Tip 5: Be a bit nostalgic
Now this is really important, if you want to write the perfect bridesmaid wedding speech. You have to tell a story, which is funny and cozy, so it can move people. It could be from the beginning of the relationship between the newly-weds, where you learned to know the groom, or something like that.
