After a slow start to the 2009 NFL season, last year’s Superbowl runner up Arizona Cardinals may have turned the corner. On Sunday they used a tenacious defense to force four New York Giants’ turnovers and went on to upset their hosts 24-17. The Cards’ potent offense of last year still hasn’t regained form, but their defense is picking up the slack. Arizona improved to 4-2 with the victory while the Giants dropped to 5-2.

NFL pointspread players who took the +7′ with the Cards as road underdogs cashed their tickets with the outright win. Arizona has now won and covered three straight, improving their ATS record to 4-2 on the year. The Giants have lost two straight both straight up and to the number after winning and covering their first five games. The 41 combined points scored went UNDER the posted total of 47.

After the contest, all of the Cards’ offensive stars were paying tribute to their ball hawking defense starting with quarterback Kurt Warner:

“Tonight we definitely fed off our defense.”

Wide receiver Anquan Boldin added:

“We feel like we’ve got one of the best defenses in the league. It’s tough for teams to move the ball on them, let alone score on them.”

Cards’ linebacker Gerald Page explained the defense’s mindset heading into the game:

“Our game plan was to get Manning rattled, make him make quick decisions and quick throws. He made some plays, but they came up short.”

Safety Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie added:

“We played team defense. Everybody stepped up. When we had interception opportunities, we made them.”

Arizona’s active defense caused trouble for the usually efficient Giants’ offense explained center Shaun O’Hara:

“They are constantly moving around and flipping safeties and they did a good job with that. Sometimes we caught them and sometimes they caught us.”

While New York coach Tom Coughlin summed up the loss with this short observation:

“Anytime you turn the ball over four times, you don’t have much of a chance to win.”

Arizona will try to keep their momentum rolling on Sunday as they host the swooning Carolina Panthers. The Cards are a -10 home favorite with the total set at 42. They’ll visit Chicago to face the Bears the following Sunday before returning home to host the Seattle Seahawks on November 15. The Giants will hit the road to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Philadelphia played on Monday Night, and the game is currently off the board pending the status of several injured Eagles’ players. They’ll return home to host the San Diego Chargers the following Sunday before a bye week, and they’ll get back in action on November 22 at home against the Atlanta Falcons.

A singing voice, once developed, is deserving to be heard. When you know you can sing better than before, you got to share the talent and share all the information that your teacher has taught you.

While singers are taught techniques they should implement to better their voice, there are also things to avoid. Singers can develop bad habits and this can hurt their range and vocal ability.

Public Enemies stars Johnny Depp, Marion Cotillard, and Christian Bale and is directed by Michael Mann. This is just the movie for you, if you want something that is low key and quite different from the summer blockbuster season. However, do not expect to be completely charmed and mesmerized by this movie.

The infamous bank robber during the time of the Great Depression, John Dillinger is the focal point of the Public enemies movie. It deals with this rise to notoriety and his fall from it. The fall is however romanticized.

From start to finish, Dillinger portrays an aura of confidence, skill and loyalty which makes him a magnet in the eyes of many. At first he gets separated from the gang, but later joins them again and is seen planning and executing meticulous and rapid bank robberies in as little as two minutes. A more likeable side to Dillinger is seen too, when he does not take the possessions of the people present in the bank he robs have.

The main aspect of the Public Enemies movie is the FBI formation and how one Mr.Hoover (who is portrayed by Billy Crudup) sets his highest priority as nabbing John Dillinger to prove a point to political doubters. He is the one who gives Purvis(Christian Bale) responsibility for bringing Dillinger down. Hoover seems to prefer newer and more scientifically advanced techniques to capture John Dillinger, but the audience soon realizes that only a combination of both these modern techniques as well as old school methods can help to capture someone like Dillingers caliber.

The Public Enemies movie follows Dillinger both during his days of glory as well as his fall. His story is portrayed extremely well. At times, you actually end up feeling sorry for Dillinger thanks to Johnny Depps flawless acting. There is a lot of blood and gore and some exciting scenes showing exchange of gunfire. But the best thing about the movie is the handling of John Dillingers character by the director.

Though Christian Bale does not have a very significant role to play, he manages to leave a mark. Marion Cottilard has also delivered an excellent performance playing Dillingers love interest.

The San Diego Chargers bounced back nicely from their Monday Night Football loss to Denver last week, opening a 20-0 halftime lead before coasting to a 37-7 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Chargers’ quarterback Phillip Rivers passed for 268 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. Running back Ladanian Tomlinson ran for a season high 71 yards as San Diego evened their record at 3-3. The hapless Chiefs dropped to 1-6.

The Chargers easily covered the NFL pointspread as -6 road favorites. It was only the second pointspread cover of the year for San Diego, who moved their ATS record to 2-4. Kansas City dropped to 2-5 against the spread. The 44 points pushed against the posted total. Kansas City now has a NFL totals record of 3-2-2 to the OVER, while the Chargers have gone OVER in four of their six games.

After the game, QB Rivers suggested that the loss to Denver was a turning point for his team:

“Last week, we felt like we made progress. We had the attitude we were looking for, focus, but we didn’t win. But we knew we got better.”

Tomlinson broke off one of his most impressive runs of the year on the Chargers first touchdown drive, a 31 yard pickup that he said lifted the team’s spirits and led to the easy victory:

“It kind of got us going. It was something we needed and it was a big play for us. It was a staple of our offense. It’s been around for years, old power. It was perfectly blocked and was just a great job of execution.”

The Chiefs continued to struggle on their home field, which at one point was considered one of the toughest venues in the league for visiting teams. Kansas City has now lost ten straight at Arrowhead Stadium, and 29 of their last 32 games. Chiefs’ nose tackle Ron Edwards lamented this home field struggle:

“We want to win for the home fans, for us, for everyone out there watching,” nose tackle Ron Edwards said. “It’s real painful.”

Rivers pointed to the Chiefs’ legacy of home field dominance in celebrating the win:

“Any time you come to Kansas City and win, it’s good. We talked about getting on a roll and you’ve got to win one first before you can. Hopefully, this is something we can build on.”

The Chargers return home to take on their hated rivals, the Oakland Raiders. Next Sunday’s game has San Diego listed as a -16′ home favorite with the total set at 42′. They’ll travel to play the New York Giants the following week before returning home to face the Philadelphia Eagles on November 15. Kansas City will enjoy a bye week before returning to action on November 8 on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their next opportunity for a home victory will come on November 15 against the Oakland Raiders.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner everyone is looking for the juciest old fashioned roast turkey recipe. If this is the first time to roasted a turkey, do not fret. It is much easyr than you imagine.

If your turkey is frozen, the first step is to thaw it. You need to plan well ahead, because you will need to thaw the bird 24 hours per 5 pounds of turkey. Thawing in the refrigerator is the safest way, and will prevent bacteria from forming.

OK, now it is time for the fun part. The turkey cavity will be filled with the neck and giblets. Remove those before preparing the bird. After the turkey has been thoroughly washed, coat the skin of the bird and the cavity with unsalted and softened butter. You can use basic seasoning as well, if you choose to.

The turkey can now be transferred to a cooking pan, with the breast up. Using a shallow dark pan is best. Shiny pans look nice, but the cooking time will be longer if you use one. Some people like to stuff their turkey, and others choose to make a dressing on the side. If you decide to stuff the bird, do it right before you put it into the over. A couple of cups of turkey stock added to the bottom of the pan will help keep the bird moist.

You might decide to cover the turkey for cooking. If you have a lid for the roasting pan, that is a great choice. You can also use a olde worlde roasting bag, or an aluminum foil tent. Do not use a paper shopping bag, because many bags today are made from recycled materials.

Your oven should be preheated to 325 degrees. You can select a higher temperature if you choose. After placing the turkey in the oven, it is important to baste the turkey every 30 minutes. Did you decide to add a cover or roasteding bag? If you did, remove it after the turkey has cooked for 2 hours. Cooking times are different depending on where you live. For the best advice, ask the butcher at your grocery store.

As you have become more familiar with Adobe Photoshop, have you noticed that the program allows you to save your images in several different formats or types of files?

While Photoshop has many different types of image file, I’ve listed and described the three most commonly used.

The most important file format for saving edited digital photo projects is PSD. This is actually a Photoshop file format. Using PSD files allows you to work in layers and channels. When you save your work, the layers are not compressed. Although this results in a large file, the PSD files will retain their image quality as you work on them. Also, all pf the data is saved with a PSD file. While still editing, save your work in a PSD file, then when finished editing, you should save it in the appropriate file for that project.

JPEG: JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group. This is one of the most common and well-known file formats. Because JPEG files are compressed, the size of the file is smaller. However, with compression, JPEG images will lose data each time you change the file and then resave it. But JPEG files work will on the Web and have a variety of applications.

GIF, or Graphic Interchange Format, is a very popular format used for Web and Internet applications. GIF files are usually small in size, allowing them to load more quickly in Internet browsers. These GIF files are actually limited to a maximum of 256 colors.

More file formats than we have listed do exist. They are not generally used very much and are not good for Internet use.

For your use, it will be best to save your projects in a PSD file until you are finished editing them. Then, save them in a JPEG or GIF file to save space.

Let’s Make Up Lila Says: A Marseille adolescent on the verge of manhood considers becoming an author; however he’s broke, ghettoized, and pressured by his peers to be a loser till he meets a blond bombshell who kindles his literary link, and then some. Faintly surreal myth of modern day French Arabian relationships stays lightweight and nymphet fixated till its unavoidable bittersweet ending. Cast includes Valtina Giocante, Mohammed Khouas, Karim Ben Haddou, Lotfi Chakri, and Edmonde Franchi. (90 minutes, 2005)

Coming To America: Prince Akeem has come to Queens N.Y. from Africa. Back in Africa, a wife has been selected for him to marry. Instead the Prince comes to America to find the love of his life, and marry her instead.

Hills Have Eyes Part 2: Lame continuation has a group of motocross fanatics stranded in the desert, preyed upon by a primitive family. This is loaded with flashback footage from the 1977 film, containing one ludicrously alleging to be a memory by a dog. Cast includes Michael Berryman, John Laughin, Tamara Stafford, Kevin Blair, and John Bloom. (88 minutes, 1985)

For Roseanna: Sugary, well-intentioned film in regards to a gentleman who has vowed his spouse, who’s terminally sick, that she can be buried in their village churchyard cemetery however with only a few empty plots left, he takes it upon himself to keep the other townspeople alive! Cast includes Jean Reno, Mercedes Ruehl, Polly Stroller, Mark Frankel, Giuseppe Cederna, and Renato Scarpa. (95 minutes, 1997)

Lost Parody is the hilarious alter ego of the parent show Lost which is aired on ABC every season. It’s the ultimate omnium-gatherum of the two main elements of drama, namely hilarity and wit! For the rest of it, the Lost TV Show is anywhere there.
