Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: Try to link melodies from The Beatles’ classic album into some kind of tale line just doesn’t work; patterns range from reasonable to humiliating. As to The Bee Gees performing ability, well let’s just say that they are not the Beatles. Cast includes Peter Frampton, The Bee Gees, George Bums, Sandy Farina, and Steve Martin. (111 minutes, 1978)

Lawyer Man: Powell is aces in this entertaining drama as an ambitious attorney, with an eye for the chicks, who tangles with crooked congressmen. Blondell is his dependable, lovesick secretary. Powell even talks Yiddish in this one. Cast includes William Powell, Joan Blondell, Claire Dodd, Sheila Terry, Alan Dinehart, David Landau, Roscoe Karns, and Sterling Holloway. (72 minutes, 1932)

The In Laws: Everyone can relate to this uncomfortable situation. The in laws are coming and you just have to survive. Don’t try this at home! Unrated rendition runs 93. Cast includes Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, Richard Libertini, and Nancy Dussault. (103 minutes, 1964)

Ice Age: In this animation comedy we find ourselves viewing the blight of the animals as the ice age is descending upon them. An unlikely quartet of animals, Manny the wooly mammoth, Sid the sloth, Diego the saber toothed tiger, and Scrat the prehistoric squirrel, must find their way to warmer places before the ice age ends their lives. They battle the element, and devious attacks from other animals to try and survive the ice age.

Basic Instinct: Detective Nick Curren is investigating a murder. Sexy and famous author Catherine Tramell is becoming a prime suspect. She lures him into a torrid love affair. Now he struggles to resolve her guilt or innocence in the case.

From Nashville with Music: Some excellent country and western music, although one would be better served to purchase one of the actors’ albums rather than agonizing through this tale of a New York couple who go to the Grand Ole Opry by accident. Cast includes Marilyn Maxwell, Leo G. Carroll, Pedro Gonzalez, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, and Buck Owens. (87 minutes, 1969)

Act of the Heart: A religious based film that deals with religion and people who become obsessed with it. A young lady falls in love with a priest in the Catholic Church with obvious difficulties to follow. Stars include Genevieve Bujold, Donald Sutherland, Bill Mitchell, and Monique Leyrac. (1970 Canadian-drama directed by Paul Almond)

Dracula’s Daughter: Continuation to the Lugosi classic portrays vampire exercises of Holden. Pichel adds implementing aid as her malevolent manservant. Hillyer, usually a B-Western director, manages to imbue this chiller with a moody, subtly sensual quality. Cast includes Cast includes Gloria Holden, Otto Kruger, Marguerite Churchill, Irving Pichel, Edward Van Sloan, Nan Grey, and Hedda Basket. (70 minutes, 1936)

Suicide Kings: A group of desperate kids kidnap a slick underworld mob boss and keep him prisoner to boost leverage in the kidnapping of Thomas’ sibling. Although throughout one long day, the mobster Walken, in fine form measures up his captors and plays on their weaknesses. Well planned piece, with some excellent tale twists and first-rate acting jobs. Cast includes Christopher Walken, Denis Leary, Henry Thomas, Sean Patrick Flanery, Laura San Giacomo, and Brad Garrett. Heartbreaker: Chicano Allende falls for WASP Dunlap among an ambiance of custom-fitted cars. Dull self sufficient production is displeasingly devoid of observations into the lifestyle it portrays. Look quick for Patty “Apollonia” Kotero. Cast includes Daybreak Dunlap, Peter Gonzales Falcon, Michael D. Roberts, Miguel Ferrer, Pepe Serna, and Rafael Campos. (90 minutes, 1983)

If you love watching DVD movies on the big screen in the comforts of your home, you?re not alone. There are many, like me, who would rather curl up on our sofa?s at home, than spend big money at the public movie theaters? Plus those seats are uncomfortable aren?t they?

Anyways, who wants to deal with big hair in front of your face or kids screaming in the background? And nothing beats my deep, cushioned sofa where I can stretch out and relax? there?s no place like home, as Dorothy would say.
