Everybody has their own opinion on great actors and great movies. Nobody is more right or more wrong since it is just an opinion however it is fun to have favorites and enjoy. Some actors have enormous talent, and some actors are easy on the eyes and then there are the actors that are both. We admire some actors more for what they do off the screen than onscreen, as some of them are great individuals who use their fame and fortune to help others and the world. Barnyard – Animated craziness set on a farm where, after sundown, the animals turn the barn into a loud nightclub. James is Otis, a young cow who is very grown-up, much to the annoyance of his dad, Ben Elliott, who keeps watch for predatory coyotes when the others party. Dom Irrera stands out as Duke the Dog. Cast includes Courtney Cox, Sam Elliott, Danny Glover, Wanda Sykes, Andie MacDowell, David Koechner, and Laraine Newman. (90 minutes, 2006)
The Horse Whisperer – After her daughter is seriously injured in a horse riding accident, her well-to-do mother takes the horse to a renowned horse whisperer in Montana. A romance between the two follows.
The All-American Boy – Muddled drama in reference to Olympic aspirant Voight’s endeavor to be a successful boxer; striking locations of northern California, but that is all. Cast includes Jon Voight, Ned Glass, Anne Archer, and Carol Androsky. (104 minutes, 1989)
Live Free Or Die Hard – The U. S. is under attack. A criminal mind is attacking the system with modern techniques. It is now up to Detective John McClane and brilliant computer hacker Matt Farrell to find and stop whoever is doing the attacking.
Sugar Town – Pleasurable mosaic of LA life characterizing a handful of characters whose lives unite – a musician aspirant who will do anything to get ahead, an uptight lone lady who allures the wrong men like a magnet, and a band made up of cleaned-up ’80s rock megastars, to name a few. Made on a shoestring, although sharp and well recognized; outstanding cast comprises a variety of actual musicians. Cast includes Ally Sheedy, Rosanna Arquette, John Taylor, Jade Gordon, Michael Des Barres, Lucinda Jenney, and Martin Kemp. (92 minutes, 1999)
Movies are pleasurable and they entertain us and we will forever have our favorite actors and actresses along with our favorite movies. They might be our favorites because of their talent or for other reasons.
