You have just arrived in Costa Rica and leave the plane totally jetlagged – all you want to do is get a good night’s sleep before travelling on to your holiday destination. Whereabouts are you going to stay? There are plenty of Costa Rica Airport Hotels within easy reach of the highway and not too far from the airport so, how do you choose?

Do you feel up to driving 7 km from the airport before you can get your head down? If you do feel okay to drive then you’re in for a treat. However, rather than lose your custom, the Hampton Inn Hotel will come to the airport and to pick you. Now that’s what I call service!

The Hampton Inn … Suites is geared up to odd arrival and departure times and it provides a range of services that are specifically aimed at the international traveler. This Costa Rica Airport Hotel even has a reasonably-sized swimming pool for you to cool off in before you get your head down!

Of all the Costa Rica Airport Hotels, the Hampton Inn … Suites offers the best services: it is the closest to the airport, the hotel is near to the drop-off and pick-up zones of most of the car rental agencies, the hotel is not too far from San Jose City.

The Hampton Inn … Suites offers good quality accommodation. They offer great services and amenities, if you want to surf the web on your laptop, you can do it do for free with their complimentary high-speed internet access. Run a few miles in their fitness room, or take in some sun by the pool.

If that’s what you want you would be better off going somewhere else. For me, though, this is my kind of hotel and, if I need to travel to Costa Rica any time in the future, the Hampton Inn … Suites is where I would choose to stay.

The Kansas City Chiefs have had a rough few years of football. Just a few years back, they were a competitive football team and had an arsenal of great players.

The team has lost star tight end Tony Gonzalez, but some other additions drown this loss out a bit. It’s never easy losing a hall of fame player.

The loss of TE Tony Gonzalez was a definite blow to the team, and you can be sure that Cassel wishes he had a future Hall of Fame target to pass to every Sunday. The Chiefs have their franchise QB in place, and now it’s time to fit the rest of the puzzle pieces in.

As the team has struggled to find its way with a steady quarterback over the past few seasons (there’s been Damon Huard and Brodie Croyle, neither of whom could get the job done), perhaps this year would offer some more hope. Actually, there were some very impressive moments with Tyler Thigpen last year, but he’s not the man for the future.

Cassel had to sit out during week one due to an injury, and was unable to play at Baltimore against the Ravens as a result. Still, the Kansas City Chiefs gave it their all during this game and lost by less than most expected them to lose by.

The fact that the Chiefs play in a division that hasn’t been good for a very long time (exception being the San Diego Chargers) gives Chiefs hope for the future.

Matt Cassel showed some signs of greatness in New England – was that the product of the Patriots organization? Matt Cassel’s ability? Or Both? I think a combination of both and unfortunately, Cassel probably won’t have the same kind of success in KC for a while.

If they can find a win over the next three weeks against the Eagles, Cowboys or Giants, it will set a new standard and give some confidence to the Chiefs. I think under Matt Cassel, they’ll definitely have a better year than last.

We all enjoy snapping away with our digital cameras and more often than not we will be taking portraits of friends and partners. Unfortunately, although portraits or head and shoulders photos sound easy enough to take, quite often the results are less than great.

Too close, to far away or heads and other body parts mysteriously missing, let’s face it we’ve all been there. To help avoid those problems lets look at some basic principles and tips for taking portrait photography.

If you want to take a portrait picture of someone, it is quite easy to ensure that the whole head appears in the photograph. Ensure that everything you want to shoot is centred on your digital cameras LCD screen. Everything that appears on that screen will appear in your portrait photograph.

For the amateur, the importance of the background may not be as important as it is to the professional photographer. But if you feel confident enough, why not use the background to make the picture all the more interesting. A picture with an interesting background can add a lot to a shot as well as tell us something about the person whose photograph you are taking.

Good portrait shots do not have to be posed. That will only make your subject look stiff and uncomfortable. One of the basics of portrait photography is to make the picture look natural and you can do that by being spontaneous, just taking the picture without waiting for your subject to adopt a pose. If that doesn’t work out, you can erase the shot and try again.

Whether the picture is posed or taken off the cuff, it is important that photo fills the frame. That is important as it will add character to the picture.

When snapping photographs lighting is very important. Many people photograph outdoors so lighting is not such a big issue. But if you are taking your pictures at an indoor location, including your home, you need to consider lighting.

When shooting inside light beaming through a window can be an interesting aid as it can create attractive shadows. If the light is too bright, the shadows may be too dark, but they can be deflected by using a white card.

Another important tip when taking portrait photography is to focus on the eyes as they can reveal a lot about the person you are photographing.
