One of the greatest ways to command the rapt attention and curiosity of a crowd of complete strangers is by doing some simple magic tricks. For all ages, people have enjoyed watching sorcerers, tricksters, and magicians. Through some ancient part of human history, doing magic will elevate you into social authority status and command the attention of all who see you.

If you think that you need to practice in front of a mirror for hours on end to perfect your skills, think again. Most tricks can be learned in under an hour, most even less. Most people are so easily mesmerized that you need not spend much time perfecting your technique.

The first step, of course, is to learn a few simple magic tricks that you can pick up in pretty much any magic book or guide. A few card tricks, some coin tricks, and some skills in reading people and body language in order to project the idea that you are psychic. These are based on nothing more than basic human behavior.

Once you’ve got the tricks under your belt, it’s time to move on to the next, and perhaps more important element. That is to develop a patter that goes along with your tricks. If you just stand there doing a trick, people will quickly grow bored. But if you tell an engaging story that goes along with your simple tricks, people will be mesmerized beyond belief.

A perfect way to perfect this is through some simple, old fashioned public speaking practice. You can sing up for some classes at your local community college, or join a local Toastmasters group. Public speaking in and of itself will give you loads of confidence, that will obviously help you in your magic presentation skills.

When you develop just a few simple tricks, and some halfway decent public speaking skills, you will be amazed at how much your social confidence and poise explodes. You will attract the attention and respect of men and women wherever you go.
