The Samsung UE40B7000 TV
Initial Impressions: The primary thing you notice is how slim the UE40B7000 is. Just larger than an inch (and less than 3cm) in depth. The black sheer finish to the surround of the television looks good, as does the slim clear connection between the monitor and the base. One more bonus point is that Samsung has incorporated all of the key parts within the TV – various manufacturers have required viewers to find a site for a separate box for such things as the Freeview tuner.
Sound: Like numerous flatscreen Televisions the sound output on the UE40B7000 is relatively poor. The UE40B7000 is too slender to permit a good enough audio system. Look to linking it to a separate audio system to get adequate audio to hope to go with the image quality.
UE40B7000 Picture Quality: This is the main plus of the UE40B7000 over its competitors, in that it has replaced fluorescent backlighting with Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). What some reviewers have not understood is that the monitor itself still uses tried and tested LCD know-how. The advantages of LEDs as opposed to fluorescent tubes are:
* Traditional backlighting is rather irregular. LEDs use a crisscross system to backlight the entire television
* Just plasma TVs have created complete blacks until now – this enables LCD ones to do so as well.
* The image can respond faster.
* More colours can be shown.
UE40B7000Connectivity: The UE40B7000 comes with four HDMI, two USB, and one LAN port – all nearly everyone of us are likely to necessitate for several years at least. The USB ports allow the playing of a large quantity of multimedia file formats as well as to your wireless network (you will want a separate dongle.) And the LAN network connection allows easy access to files on your home network.
The Samsung UE40B7000 Remote: The main remote control is a somewhat oddly created gadget, a tad akin to a shoehorn. A little awkward to operate at first, but OK once you’re used to it. The second, smaller remote simply allows volume power and channel changes.
Energy efficiency: LEDs employ a lot less power (between 100W and-0W) than the customary fluorescent backlighting so the Television will be less expensive to run than its competitors.
UE40B7000 Review – To Conclude: The UE40B7000 has simply manifestly ordinary sound output, as with most flatscreen Televisions. However the rich colours and deep blacks it produces outperform other similarly priced TVs.
