by Andrea McClure

This November Fans are looking forwards to the release of New Moon in theaters. Twi-Hards everywhere are finding different ways to celebrate. One that has become an established tradition for many fans is a Twilight party. Many fans are having parties based on their favorite series incorporating images and motifs from the series to make their own unique events. However a true fan takes these elements and makes a completely original event all their own. But what if something goes wrong? How can you turn a potential disaster into a stroke of pure genius? Here are some potential party disasters and how you can turn it around.

You get a whole lot of uninvited people who come to crash your party. This can be a major problem because you will likely plan your party for a set amount of guests. All these other people will not only strain the resources you committed to your party they might cause you to break some housing and fire code! First, see if you can find some volunteer bouncers. If you know someone people on your high school football team or some adults you can trust call them over to help you do some crowd control. Second, have your guest list handy and quickly make some badges or VIP passes. Give these to the guests you invited to separate them from the rest of the crowd. Charge a cover. Tell them if they want to have fun at your party they have to abide by your rules and help pay for the party otherwise you are calling the police. These measures will help control the extra crowd and will likely give you extra money at the end of the night. Also have your neighbors apprised ahead of time that you are having a party.

The DJ doesn’t show. Well no worries. In this day and age when everyone has a laptop and an MP3 with a shuffle function a DJ is superficial quickly hook up your IPod to a docking station and connect it to some speakers. If you don’t have some you can get a cheap set at Wal-Mart for just around $30 to $40 dollars. If you need some fresh tunes poll your guests for favorites and download them online from Amazon. You can also get some songs from Stephenie Meyer’s playlists. These are some of the songs she listened to as she wrote the Twilight series.

Another potential problem is that you don’t have enough food. This is something that can be taken care of two ways. You should have some extra drinks or food that you made on the off chance guest were more hungry than usual. This is will help tide people over until you can think of something else to make. Second, the convenience store and grocery store are your friends. If any of your friends has a car, have them go on a shopping trip to get items like chips and more soda. You can also have everyone pitch in to make more Twilight themed treats such as blood punch.

Of course there is the danger of your party hitting a slow point. The one thing that every party organizer dreads is a party that loses its energy and excitement. A way to deal with this is come up with some party games that can be quickly set up. If you have the party at your home and you have a game system use it. Play some of your favorite party video games. Have a game of Twilight trivia or Flashlight tag. The goal is to use your imagination to come up with ideas.

Is It Possible To Become Clairvoyant

by Adrian Cooper

A clairvoyant is someone who has clairvoyance powers. These powers are sometimes referred to as extrasensory perception, the sixth sense or second sight, dates back to the’th century. Historical writings are filled with tales of seers or prophets. These individuals were revered by the people. Prophecies were followed closely and powerful leaders often sought the advice of these clairvoyants to guide their actions.

The word ‘clairvoyant’ is a derivative of French which literally means, “clear vision”. Even so, one could in fact say that clairvoyance has several meanings, considering that while some clairvoyants have powers in terms of receiving visions, others may read and interpret signs. Likewise, some may hear messages, while others will rely solely on their inner voice.

A person who practices clairvoyance is called a clairvoyant. Clairvoyants vary in skill, but many have the ability to see into beyond the present time into the future, offering those who use their services a glimpse of what is to come. Highly skilled practitioners may also be able to view events of the past. A few are able to pass beyond the realm of the living to communicate with those who have gone before.

It is believed that everyone is born clairvoyant. However, due to the tendency of society to stifle anything that doesn’t fit within the norm, few people actually get the opportunity to develop their ability. The ones that do are often children of clairvoyant parents or adults who have taken the time to train their clairvoyance skills, whether through self-study or tutelage from an accomplished clairvoyant.

Study generally begins with meditation. With meditation, users can release the stress and negativity from their mind, leaving them open to the signals or messages being sent to the by the Universe. Clairvoyants should set aside at least thirty minutes a day in a safe, calm atmosphere to practice meditation. Many clairvoyants enjoy meditating outdoors in order to better commune with the Universe.

Furthermore, those who are undergoing training will always be encouraged to clear their mind rather than try to force the issue of clairvoyance. A clairvoyant can often be compared to a person who has misplaced their keys, in that once they have cleared their mind, they become more relaxed and that’s when the keys are usually found.

As your clairvoyant power grows, you may wish to include other methods of clairvoyance. These include dream interpretation or the reading of palms, tea leaves or tarot cards. These methods will aid you in understanding the messages you receive.

You need to bear in mind that the more your skills develop the more you’ll end up relying on your instincts, and as such, they become an integral part of your powers. This instinct which is often referred to as the ‘inner eye’ is perhaps one of the most powerful tools a clairvoyant has at their disposal. In fact, many people have an inner eye which manifests itself by giving us what some refer to as a ‘gut feeling’. Most people have at some point instinctively known that something bad or good was about to happen. However, unlike clairvoyants, average people pay no attention to such feelings, let alone embrace them, and it’s only by embracing them that it becomes possible to develop clairvoyance.

Essentially, your ability to receive messages from the universe depends largely on your attitude and also the environment you live in. If you live in a state of chaos and disruption, and your life it’s full of negativity, it becomes virtually impossible to clear your mind sufficiently enough. On the other hand, a clairvoyant will always strive to have a calm environment, which is why many of them practice Feng Shui in order to optimize the flow of energy through their homes.

You’ll also find that practically all clairvoyants make use of aromatherapy, and even crystals, in order to rid their environment of negative energy. Furthermore, most clairvoyants also practice yoga in order to achieve a calm and peaceful spirit so that they can unlock the power within. While this may be sufficient enough for some, others also make use of hypnosis in order to read the mind and body of negativity completely.

Unlike some people tend to believe, clairvoyants don’t spend all their time staring into a crystal ball, but instead, many of them have built a successful career around the use of their skills. This can be done by offering readings, contributing to magazine columns, making predictions, making appearances on television, or even writing books. In fact, some also make their services available to numerous law enforcement agencies which seek assistance with regards to locating missing people and also for helping them to solve crimes.

Why Tattoo Machines Are So Popular

by Frederick Michaels McKinnon

Gone are the days when tattoos were done exclusively by hand. That is not to say that the whole process of making a tattoo is done by a machine, but machines have replaced traditional needles as the instrument of choice of professionals around the world.

Because tattoo machines are in extremely high demand, many companies have begun to manufacture them, giving us a range of machines to choose from. There are standard machines that are basically more advanced versions of traditional needles ranging to machines with a built in pulse that can dip into the skin over 3000 times a minute. However, a good tattoo artist should still be able to do a completely manual tattoo and this is something you should check before you decide who will do your tattoo. This is because applying a tattoo manually requires much more skill and if the artist cant manage that then you run a serious risk in using that artist.

Coming back to the rising popularity of the tattoo machines, it is primarily because of the consistency that the machines started appearing regularly at tattoo studios all around the world. Even the most professional tattoo artist will not be certain about the consistency of his needle, and that is a risk the pros should not take. To make that job easier, the first tattoo machines were invented.

Like we mentioned earlier, some of the machines are more complex and have special features like electric pulses. This is the machine which optimally runs at over 3000 strokes per minute, meaning that the tattoo will come up in incredible detail. Also, the sound level of a tattoo machine that runs on a sine wave technology is negligible compared to the normal machines which create quite a buzz ” literally!

While a great deal of tattoo shops all over the world do now use these advanced tattoo machines that work with electrical pulses, it is not so uncommon to see tattoos still being done in the traditional manual way that has been around for many many centuries.

A Short Bio of Katharine Hepburn

by Donny Haaver

It was May 12th of’07 when Katharine Hepburn was born. Her parents had named her Katharina Houghton Hepburn but she changed the final “a” to and “e” as her stage name. She had a very good upbringing seeing as though her mother was a suffragist and her father was a doctor. Today she is considered to be perhaps one of the best actresses of all time.

Katharine’s parents allowed her and her five siblings to enjoy their childhood freely and as such this helped with the development of her acting skills early on in life. While she never did any acting in childhood, she would one day become the greatest. She graduated from the Bryn Mawr College in’28 which after she would marry Ludlow Smith whom she met while attending the school.

Unfortunately as most things are, her marriage ended in’34 by divorce. However, it is the experiences in life that made Katharine who she was. During attendance at Bryn Mawr, she also took an active role in the performing arts and even managed to appear in several Maryland productions. Shortly after graduation she moved in to the Broadway scene with her first appearance being in the musical The Big Pond.

It would not be until’32 that Katharine Hepburn would receive her first real break in the musical The Warrior’s Husband. Her performance was seen by a number of big names which ultimately led to her first screen test which landed her a role in A Bill of Divorcement which was released later that year. The following year she would receive her first Academy Award for her role in Morning Glory (a movie that is still available today at Netflex Movies).

Missing the Broadway scene, Katharine made her way back to New York in’33 to appear in The Lake. Unfortunately this was not taken well by both the critics and the audience. She did not return to movies until’35 which because of the flopped Broadway musical and her lengthy hiatus, finding a good gig was hard to come by.

Her luck got better in’38 with the movie The Philadelphia Story. She would later get the rights to the film so that she could make it into a Broadway Musical. For the rest of her life, she continued entertaining audiences on the bi screen as well as on Broadway and for the work she won many different awards including the Lifetime Achievement Awards. She would appear in her last movie as a guest in’94 before passing away in 2003 at the age of 96 years old.

Experimenting With The Appropriate DJ Gear For Mixing The Finest Music

by Joanne Carter

DJ equipment is a must have, especially if you are working as a disc jockey somewhere. Well seriously, even if you are just starting or wishing to get the whole of hardware replaced, you must have an idea of the basic pieces of DJ equipment that helps you to do your best in time of need.

The event may be anything, from a marriage, to a birthday party, to somebody’s yard party. No matter what it is, not only do you need the best apparatus you need equipment for each occasion as well as equipment that works very well for YOU.

First of all, you need to decide what kind of DJ you want to be. Are your plans to be a stationary DJ? What about setting up your own radio station? Would you rather be a bard instead, better known as a mobile DJ?

What kind of DJ kit you will purchase definitely has an effect , as there’s some that can be set up permanently and some can be picked up and moved at will. It’s important to obtain portable DJ equipment that includes a protective case.

The turntable is the DJ’s first and vital gear. Turntable was used in olden times to play vinyl records. But as the time passed, the meaning of the turntable has been changed. Nowadays olden technologies are gone so we have switched to the new technology like CD’s, DVD’s, flash media and thing like these.

You must even question yourself if you are going to use CD’s or not. Maybe you’ll be wanting to employ a laptop computer with some type of DJ program. Prior to your question, my answer is no, Winamp is not a DJ program.

If you are going to be performing at events or anywhere at all for what it’s worth then you’re going to want to make sure you have a decent microphone. People are going to require to hear what you are pronouncing, so you need to make sure of 2 things before you purchase a microphone.

You need to ensure that what you say is coherent and concise so that all those around understand you and you don’t sound like someone on the other end of a fast-food restaurant speaker box. The next thing that you would require to verify is that the microphone does not have too much feedback. If it happens, all they are going to hear is some sort of high-pitched sound so they won’t hear you.

Remember that you are going to be performing in the dark lots of the time, so make sure that you have work lights. There are lights available that will light up your space without bothering others around you.

There isn’t any doubt that you’ll need to buy lots of other pieces of equipment, but you always want to make sure that the DJ equipment you buy works for you, and is top quality. Make your choice carefully, everyone is unique!

Extinction of Mankind

by Sara Ferguson

I read an article the other day outlining the eleven species that have been photographed alive before they went extinct. It is sad to know that in the last one hundred and fifty years eleven species of animals have went extinct as a direct result of man. Each one of these animals was hunted to extinction for food, fur, or considered a nuisance. How many more animals will be extinct in another one hundred and fifty years?

If you take a walk through your local zoo these days, slowing down to read the signs on each exhibit for the animals you will find that just about each sign has a word in red: Threatened, Endangered, and Critically Endangered. In the last one hundred and fifty years while we caused the extinction of eleven species we have put thousands more at risk of extinction. Didnt we learn a lesson with the first eleven? While we have now started trying to bring many species back from the brink, we are still driving them to extinction right along with many others.

I posted an article the other day on World Zoo Today (www.worldzootoday.com) about the poachers of Black Rhinos in this one area being so bad that instead of arresting the poachers they are relocating the rhinos. This is the effect mankind is currently having on this world. Have we become so narrow minded as a species that we destroy?

Species are being hunted to extinction for ancient beliefs in medicine, culinary delights, and money. Where do we stop? When there are no more animals to hunt? If you kill all the animals what do you hunt next? When all the animals are gone society will be forced to change. For the good or bad, no one will know but change will happen. Using animals to make money will be gone, so another form will be found. A good possibility will be trading in humans. Slave trade has been going on for thousands of years and still goes on today.

Maybe it is time for humans to become extinct. In the short span of a thousand years, the seas would be teaming with life once more. All trace of man would be gone from the land and a new world order of animal ecosystem would be in force. Animals would once again roam in vast herds across the land and in the skies.
