I want to share some insights into the act of music production with you. Many folks think manufacturing music is something complex, and takes too long to learn. The actuality is that, that notion is both true and false.

It does take years to become a great producer, but you can start manufacturing music in a matter of minutes. All you need is your computer, production software, some loops or something to record ( along with a microphone ), and some one to offer you some instructions on music production.

The fist ones are pretty simple to find. There are free music production software available, places to download free loops, even a cheap microphone will work, and a world of sounds to record. The tricky part is finding somebody to offer you music production instructions, in a digestible manner.

The truth is that as soon as you place your fist loop into a track, and start playing with it you have become a music producer. Once you have found a good source of instructions for manufacturing music, you can increase your skills, but that really is how straightforward becoming a music producer is.

The instructions I am going to give you for manufacturing music right now, are that there are no rules. That isn’t sound like instructions, but the best teacher for making music is yourself. The music is within you, all anyone else can do is tell you their tricks for bringing it out. Tricks that won’t work for you. So don’t be afraid to just play around and experiment.

So now you know how simple it is to start producing your own music, get your hands on some production software, some loops and start manufacturing some music! It truthfully is the most fulfilling past time I have ever had, and i hope you will go and explore it more .

To actually discuss the topic in the title of this article, we need to talk about a couple of other things. It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. You can now save a trip to the video store and download movies right off the internet. You can get virtually any movie you want with a good movie download site. Here are some examples.

Unbreakable: Elijah Price has lived his whole life with a horrible bone condition. His bones are so weak that they shatter with the slightest jolt. From his reading of comics, he is convinced that there is an opposite of him living in the world. The story is of his search to find this “unbreakable” man.

Buffalo Soldiers: In’89, the peacetime U.S. Army stationed in Germany is largely manned by men who had an option of penitentiary or time in the service. One of them (Phoenix) is a salesperson who wheels and deals, Bilko-like, under the nose of his naive commander (Harris) till a new top sergeant shows up (Glenn) who’s decided to clean things up. Cast includes Joaquin Phoenix, Ed Harris, Scott Glenn, Anna Paquin, Elizabeth McGovern, Michael Pena, Leon Robinson, Gabriel Mann, and Dean Stockwell. (98 minutes, 2003)

For Queen and Country: This is a striking modern day thriller of Life in England. Washington is well cast as a prior paratrooper who battles for existence in an environment of racism, poverty, and corruption, and then loses his British citizenship due to a legal technicality. Cast includes Denzel Washington, Dorian Healey, Amanda Redman, Ocean Chapman, and Bruce Payne. (105 minutes,’89)

The Cable Guy: Steve Kovacs has moved into a new apartment. When Chip the cable guy comes over to set up his system, Steve slips him a fifty for some free channels. Chip sees this as an opening to be Steve’s best friend. It will be the worst $50 that Steve has ever spent.

House on 92nd Street: Arousing documentary style drama-based movie. It’s about truth and orchestrated on true locations about FBI counterespionage exercises throughout WW2: Nazi representatives, operating in N.Y.C. try to steal part of the atom bomb secrets. Charles G. Booth made an Oscar for this story. Cast includes William Eythe, Lloyd Nolan, Signe Hasso, Gene Lockhart, Leo G. Carroll, and Lydia Clair. (88 minutes,’45)

All at Sea: Strong comedy that keeps its own all the way through. Guinness is adorable as sailor who couldn’t bear the sight of water although purchases rundown home on a wharf, turning it into an entertainment palace. Original title was Barnacle Bill. Cast includes Alec Guinness, Irene Browne, Percy Herbert, and Harold Goodwin. (87 minutes,’57)

Lovers: Aristocrat Mastroianni has a fictional spouse; an organ grinder persuades prostitute Mori to “impersonate” her. While it’s not stupid, it’s unexciting. Cast includes Marcello Mastroianni, Claudia Mori, Lino Morelli, Plant life Carabella, and Adriano Celentano. (93 minutes,’76)

The Air I Breathe: Four overlapping, connect the dots story lines, based on a Chinese proverb and titled “Cheerfulness,” “Delight,” “Grief,” and “Love,” make up this mess of a film. Starts out promisingly, as a disgruntled office android Whitaker unintentionally figures out that a horse race has been fixed, then it inexplicably shits into a cartoon like train wreck. Cast includes Kevin Bacon, Julie Delpy, Brendan Fraser, Andy Garcia, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Clark Gregg, Emile Hirsch, Woodland Whitaker, Kelly Hu, Evan Parke, Taylor Nichols, Winner Rivers, and Jon Bernthal. (97 minutes, 2008)

Making your band for hire is an excellent way to earn to begin with some useful pocket money or even a full time living depending on how popular you become with your clients. It is also great for bands that become bored or stale from just rehearsing all the time.

But how do you get that first gig? Remember that you’re a business, and like any business you need to advertise your services. Going online and googling ‘band for hire’ will give you many results to look through. You can see how other bands represent themselves, where they go, what they earn, and what songs they play.

Think to yourself who wants a band for hire? Examples include weddings, functions, birthdays, corporate events, pubs and clubs etc. Once you know who your target market is you must now establish how you are going to get your message across to them.

Many bands for hire have webpages or accounts on myspace and facebook where they can build up fans and show off their music. You should consider doing the same. After all, it’s free advertising, and you never know who is out there.

Unfortunately a lot of people and organisations do not have access to the internet or the time to access it so you may have to do some ringing around and be prepared to have some brochures or flyers with information on the band and a CD or DVD showing you performing some of your songs.

Have you also considered using an agent? They do take a percentage of your earning but it may be worth it if they bring your band in gigs.

Now that you are a band for hire have you considered whether you’re doing local gigs or ones further a field? Being willing to travel will give you more gigs and you may get more money?

The kind of gigs you do will also have an affect on what your band can expect to be paid. Local gigs in pubs will attract the smallest form of revenue but the upside is they provide a good opportunity for any band to test out new songs and are better in some respects than rehearsing as musicians like to play as much as possible.

A good band for hire will always seriously consider traveling further afield, particularly when the money offered is good. It’s makes more sense to play to a bigger venue than in a small pub, not only for the better money, but to get your music heard by more people and to get your band known.

Live bands, wedding bands are essentially the same thing as they both play music to an audience. When searching for a band on the internet it may be a good idea to be a bit more specific in your description as to your requirements as there are many types of bands that will suit many different types of occasion.

Remember, this is your wedding and your choices, not the bands wedding. Feel free to ask them to learn to play songs that you want to hear that they may not already know. The majority of bands are more than happy to oblige you since learning new songs are for their benefit as well.

You may check their past gig listings to find out more about them by talking to their previous clients. If they list their future gigs, you can go see one of them in order to better make up your mind about hiring them.

A good band is always willing and prepared to work with its clients. They are willing to tailor make the set to your liking even if it means learning a couple of new songs to please you. This is not a problem as good bands like learning new songs as it freshens up their set and keeps them enthused.

Choosing your wedding band is just as vital as choosing your wedding location. Therefore, before handing any money over for anything you need to check on a few more things. Find out if your location has a license for live music. This is essential since if they do not, your plans for a live band will not be feasible.

Find out from your choice of location if they can accommodate the band and their equipment on stage as well as in the parking lot, since there will be some heavy equipment to be loaded and unloaded with the bands wedding.

Discipline in every sport is an important factor to success on a regular basis. This holds true of poker as well. Even though most considerate it to be a game of chance, to be a money making pro at it, you must build on a foundation of the sportsmanlike attributes of learning, understanding and endless practice. You must never believe that your good fortune, on better days, will go on for eternity. Learn to leave while you are still hot, not when you cool off. During each session, you must not only have a cap on your losses, but also on your gains.

Christmas will be here before you know it. If you haven’t already started thinking about what gifts you’re going to give this year then you better start soon. Shopping early for Xmas is always a good idea – it saves you a lot of stress and disappointment if you can’t find what you’re looking for.

Last year many retailers over stocked. They then had to offer heavy discounts in order to clear the shelves. Coupled with the fact that the economic climate is, whilst improving, still somewhat less than rosy, it’s not hard to see why a lot of retailers have opted for relatively low stock levels this year.

However, as we get nearer to Christmas, it might be difficult to get hold of toys and other popular gift items. Toys could be especially hard to find. The trouble is that most toys are made in Asia nowadays – so even if retailers try to replenish their empty shelves by placing more orders, the delivery time may mean that the new stock does not arrive in time for Christmas.

One of the best selling toys so far this year is Zhu Zhu Pets. These are a collection of five robotic hamsters, complete with an array of toys and accessories, which incorporate artificial intelligence. This allows them to interact both with the children playing with them and their surroundings. Zhu Zhu pets were only released in August of 2009 – and kids are going crazy for them. Assuming stock levels hold up, they look set to be this year’s top selling Xmas toy.

Even although they haven’t been out very long, they are already hard to find in the shops. Third party vendors are now selling them on eBay and Amazon for quite a bit more than the official ticket price.

If you can’t manage to get hold of the latest hot toy, or if you just object to paying high prices for a craze that will probably fizzle out in a few short months, then you might be well advised to think about more traditional toys as an alternative. Of course, a lot of these will not be the latest craze – but they have stood the test of time – and that says a lot

If you were looking for something suitable for a young boy, a son or nephew for example, then a train set is an ever popular option. A high quality model train set will last for years and will still be giving children enjoyment when the latest fad has faded away and been replaced by something more up to date.

The same logic could just as well be applied to other stalwarts such as Scrabble, Monopoly and Lego. All of these have survived the test of time, over generations, and adapted to suit the demands of modern day kids as required.
