There is something about a painting that captures the imagination. While film can be revealing, a painting artist enchants, interpreting mood and shaping the image. Many people realize that great anniversary gifts are portraits. Painters from all eras made portraits a part of their craft. Pablo Picasso painted many stunning portraits in many different styles. One of the first paintings during the rose period was of the model known only as Madeline and titled The Girl In A Chemise. The picture is a transitional paintingwith the background and mood similar to that of the blue period, and showing the beginning of the rose tones in the girls face and skin. The painting shows a woman presenting a side profile while her body faces the artist. The Chemise falls gently exposing a thin waif like girl beneath. In the painting A Girl In A Chemise looks like the only cheerful aspect is the introduction of the rose tones. Madeline shows up in several of Picasso’s paintings, and always seems to have a sadness about her.

Picasso experimented with other styles of work. Picasso left the Rose colors behind and entered an African period which showed early signs of his cubism period. Picassowent from cubism into classicism and surrealism. Through out all his workhedisplayed a passion for figures and portraits.

Picassochanged the face of the art world. Picasso was one of the first major celebrity artists of the twentieth century. His development and styles can be traced and studied. Every distinctive style holds up by itself. The Girl In A Chemise is an evocative work that marks his transition out of the blue period and raises interest in the thin model Madeline.

There are principally pitfalls along the road of music production ; many of these holes can be avoid if the mixing beginner has some music production basics to help them at the start. Once an individual that is new to music production knows the fundamentals and knows the golden rules their learning process and overall education in this field will be at a far greater level than people who jump straight in without knowing or reading anything. Here are some helpful tips :

Always back up all files that are required in you mix – before you sit down to start a mix, ensure you have all of your audio files and arrangement files saved and backed up on something away from your computer. Be that an external drive, DVD / CD, memory stick or perhaps on the web. Anything could occur, such as a pathogen infection, drive melt down or something else infinitely random.

Mix within a relaxed environment – you cannot do any of the music production basics not to mention mix if there’s unnecessary noise going on around you. Even while using headphones it isn’t good as it is distracting.

You don’t need intense silence, though that would be nice. Just all other noise must be in the background and not breaking your concentration. Never turn speakers up above a cushty listening level to drown out or counter noise interfering with your capability to mix competently.

Listen though a track before mixing and write ideas down – I usually listen thru a track I am about to mix and write down ideas I have for the mixing direction. The inspiration could come from specific vocals / words or simply a feeling / idea I presumed up in that moment of listening ; it is simple to put your ideas into practise after you know the music production basics.

It is always good to have a concept or direction of how you need the track to go. At this point an idea would probably be formed anyhow. When listening to the track for ideas wait at least twenty-four hours, or, if you’re like me and / or you have time on your hands wait longer and listen to it as fresh and forgetful as you can and base your mixing idea on the 1st impressions you get.
