It’s up to pastor Pleasence and the grad students of Prof Wong to clean up the mess. Hail Caesar – Terrible music-megastar wannabe (Chamber) is in love with an offensive debutante, whose father is arranging to undermine an upcoming concert. Not a very good film. Cast includes Anthony Michael Chamber, Robert Downey, Jr., Frank Gorshin, Samuel L. Jackson, Judd Nelson, and Nicholas Pryor. (97 minutes,’93)

Season of Passion – Classy research of human being associations; MIlls and Borgnine are country workers who each year take a trip to the city for their fling with Baxter and Lansbury. Cast includes Anne Baxter, John MiIls, Angela Lansbury, Ernest Borgnine, and Janette Craig. (93 minutes,’59)

Nutcracker the Motion Picture – Much of this rendition of The Nutcracker, acted by the Pacific Norhtwest Ballet, is like a music video with rapid cutting and close-ups of legs, faces, and elbows. This is tremendously irritating. However the Tchaikovsky music is, obviously, amazing, as are Maurice Sendak’s sets and costumes. Cast includes Hugh Bigney, Vanessa Sharp, Patricia Barker, Wade Walthall, Russell Burnett, and the voice of Julie Harris. (89 minutes,’86)

Stage Door Canteen – Wartime story of romance between cadet and hostess at N.Y.C.’s fabled canteen is filled with cameos, walk-ons, talks, and lyrical numbers by a remarkable battery of megastars, containing Katharine Hepburn, Harpo Marx, Paul Muni, Helen Hayes, Benny Goodman, Tally Basie, and Edgar Bergen. Cast includes Cast includes Cheryl Walker, Wiliam Terry, MaIjorie Riordan, Lon McCallister, Margaret Eary, and Michael Harrison. (132 minutes,’43)
