All kids seem to go through a dinosaurs phase at some point in their childhood. I’m not sure what the exact fascination is but I can guess that these weird looking creatures just get into their imagination and they want to learn everything they can about them. For children that prefer a more hands on experience, then an interactive dinosaur toy might be the ticket. Having a robotic pet is a huge craze this Christmas, so why not be original and go for a robotic dinopet instead of a hamster, cat, dog or parrot ? This article will describe three such “pets” and to whom they might suit.

The first interactive dinosaur toy goes by the name of D-Rex. He is a Tyrannosaurus Rex the king of all dinosaurs, even though he only lived in one period of the Dinosaur years and much of the information we have is speculation. I would suggest that D-Rex as a fun toy for kids 6 and up. Adults will probably get a kick out of him too (or maybe that should be a bite).

He is reasonably smart in that he can sense movement and sound. He will faithfully follow things that move around or make a sound (which really annoys real life pets). He can stand guard of your prized possessions and bite anything that might try to steal it. He can also emit laugh inducing sound from both the front and the errr..back of his dinosaur frame. He will make a variety of sounds based on how and where you stroke him or tickle him even. He is quite clever, fairly predictable after a while but mostly fun in the intervening period.

Pleo is a Camarasaurus. In fact he is described as a one week old, orphaned Camarasaurus who needs some TLC. He is searching for a loving family. It’s safe to say that Pleo is the more complex interactive dinosaur toy of the three presented here. In truth he is hardly a toy. He can learn from his experiences and will grow (personality wise that is – not size wise – this is described as artificial intelligence ) based on how you treat and bring him up.

He can also be happy, moody and a range of other affectations based on how you treat him. He has more parts than the others plus more sensors and complex software for his ‘brain’. This can be updated to give the little fellow more abilities, functionality and appear more intelligent.

Kota is the last dinosaur featured and he is also a baby. He is a baby triceratops. In my experience, kids have three favorite types of dinosaur and the triceratops is always one of them. This is mainly because he is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs that we know of.

Kota is made for younger children and toddlers to play with. He is what I would describe as a dinosaur rocking horse. He is large and younger children can ride on him. He will rock up and down and squeak out little dinosaur grunts and chirps. Alternatively, you can play music from him. Children can feed and stroke him too. He will respond by pretending to eat the leaf and moving his head in response to your actions, even wiggling his tail if he is happy.

Most people need to have fun once in awhile. There are so many things that require us to constantly focus on serious issues that often there is very little time left in our days to relax and enjoy the lighter things in life – things that make us laugh, things that thrill us or things that simply warm our hearts.

For most people, it is difficult to break free of the day to day responsibilities and find the time to relax and enjoy life. Sleep is often falsely considered adequate relaxation, yet there is a significant honorably mention to going out and having plain unadulterated fun! In our society, entertainment is taking a lower seat on the totem pole as we gear up for more and more productivity. Of course, it would be far more beneficial and healthy for this type of person to break free of the nagging responsibilities and learn to enjoy their free time.

One way that many people try to compensate for adequate rest and relaxation is through passive activities that require only minor attention. Television, sports, theater, or concerts are all forms of passive activities that involve living in alternative situations to imagine ourselves as the characters we watch. This is often a means to escaping ones own troubles and reducing stress, albeit only for the time spent in this activity. However, it is important for us to also active engage in alternative activities to interact in new situations that will help us to grow as individuals. Perhaps the most exciting and satisfying of these to get off our couches and DO something!

Getting involved in self actualizating activities is easier than most people think. Joining sports teams, going out dancing, playing pool or darts, or learning an instrument are all obvious forms. The big challenge is often to motivate yourself to actually get energy to engage yourself! One really easy activity that you can do, is find a local Karaoke bar and get up and sing! Many people are self conscious of this because they are afraid that they won’t be very good. The most important part however, is that people try new and challenging things. The act of karaoke itself is not the challenge, it is building courage to do it!

Sing the most beautiful, sappy song you know or a rank song that you can enjoy emitting the loudest primal scream possible to man.

Karaoke is an appropriate part of this discussion as it is a form of fun and entertainment that many people enjoy. Karaoke gives you an opportunity to sing, scream, yodel, or whatever floats your boat. Personally, it is emotionally cathartic and very therapeutic, and for many people it has contributed to times of fun and laughter. It is often surprising how entertaining or amusing some people are – people you never realized were so talented. All people should be applauded for their gifts and that all people are stars in their lives. Opportunity, publicity and promotion creates the chasm between the celebrities and those whose talent remains unknown. I say they are all stars, undiscovered or otherwise. Technology has changed over the years, allowing people to read the lyrics off in a TV in a time sensitive manner. There are many people you are known as “Karaoke Junkies” that will go regularly to sing and listen on a regular basis. In general, whether you go weekly or once a year, there is always a great amount of laughter and smiles that come from it.

There is a quality of the stage that enlivens people more than any other place. It is getting up in front of people, putting your ego down and simply singing. For those with immense talent (the minority), it gives them a chance to feel like a star for a night and sing over an amplified system where people are actually listening. In any case, it provides a great opportunity to overcome the fear of being in the spotlight and has done some great things for self actualization in many.

So, although Karaoke is a Japanese word that means ‘empty orchestra”, it translates into ‘fun’ for many people all over the world.

Many of us have at some stage of our lives thought about writing down our life experiences. But the idea often passes as quickly as it arrives. Most of us plainly don’t know the basis principles of how to write memoirs.

And the reason why you do it doesn’t have to be for other people to read either. Spending time with yourself reliving days gone by and writing down your feelings at the time is a healing experience. In the process you will learn to understand yourself a little better. You will begin to understand why you did the thing you did. Why you made the mistakes you made. The All-American Boy – Messy drama in reference to Olympic aspirant Voight’s attempt to be a successful boxer; eye-catching locations of northern California, but that is all. Cast includes Jon Voight, Ned Glass, Anne Archer, and Carol Androsky. (104 minutes,’89)

The Search – Emotional drama of American cadet Clift regarding for concentration camp survivor Jandl in postwar Berlin, when the boy’s mommy despondently searches all over the camps for him. Lunatics and Lovers – Aristocrat Mastroianni has a fictional spouse; an organ grinder persuades prostitute Mori to “impersonate” her. While it’s not unintelligent, it’s unexciting. Cast includes Marcello Mastroianni, Claudia Mori, Lino Morelli, Flora Carabella, and Adriano Celentano. (93 minutes,’76)

Mysterious Lady – An Austrian armed forces officer (Nagel) falls in love with Garbo, naive that she’s a Russian agent. Another artificial plot made serviceable by Garbo herself. Cast includes Greta Garbo, Conrad Nagel, Gustav von Seyffertitz, Albert Pollet, and Edward Connelly.

Major Bennett Marco, a member of Raymond’s platoon is beginning to mistrust the events of the day Raymond saved the platoon. Marco is battling an uphill battle, but cannot defend against the nagging impression that something is not right.
