Covert Operations For Kids With Stealth Goggles Night Vision Gear

by Ledley Withenshaw

Once kids lose their fear of the dark, it seems they can’t get enough of playing out late at night, playing games like hide and seek or other such games. It must seem like a whole new world to discover to new eyes, and in reality it is. All kinds of critters venture out at night when the world is in darkness and do quirky (like tipping the garbage over !). However the main drawback of playing at night and in the dark is that the eyes aren’t up to it. We can’t see in the dark and this hampers any chances of playing at night time to any degree. Well now that could all be a thing of the past with the new Stealth goggles and binoculars.

Stealth goggles, referred to as version 1 and stealth binoculars, known as version 2 go by the name EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Goggles and are made by Jakks. They are designed for kids 8 years and over for the purpose of playing various games at night.

They use the same technology as the proper night vision gear you might expect the military to use – namely infrared frequency light to illuminate the night. This produces a fairly good picture of what is going on around you, in green or black and white images.

The goggles are referred to as stealth because there are two modes. The first mode is the stealth mode that allows totally covert operations. This means the goggles are totally undetectable – no visible light or sound whatsoever.

The second mode, known as surveillance mode, gives you a longer range, described as 50 feet at the upper limits, but it gives off a red light. If you are well concealed this might not be noticeable but it is obviously not as stealthy as the first mode.

Version 1 is a proper set of goggles that strap around the head. They can fit snugly to the face ensuring comfort even when wearing them for a fairly long period of time. The goggles have a soft rubber front that molds to the shape of the persons face so that no light can escape out. There are also caps on the eyeholes so that you can flip them up or down based on if you want to use the infrared vision or your normal eyes. So this means you will never have to take off the goggles unless you desire to.

The binoculars give you more flexibility to switch between infrared vision and normal night time vision, but of course, you have to use your hands to operate them. This could steer people away from the binoculars if they want completely hands free night vision capabilities.

Both items will be a cherished gift at Christmas, especially to young boys, but they are not really designed to be used while running, jumping etc. so pre-warn your kids. If goggles don’t sound like you, then how about some eyeclops night vision infrared binoculars instead.

Clone Trooper Voice Changer Helmet – Be A Part Of The Clone Wars

by Ledley Withenshaw

Most people have heard about Star Wars in some way. It’s been going since George Lucas put out the first (err…fourth chronologically speaking) movie in’77. That’s 32 years ago ! And the stories seem to be getting more and more embellished as new movies, TV series, games and books get released each year. I wonder who makes up all these stories and whether they have to be sanctioned by Lucas before hand.

All that can be said is that the creators of Star Wars have done pretty well for themselves. A fairly new piece of gear that ties in with the Star Wars tales is the Clone Trooper Voice changer helmet. This is essentially a role playing helmet for children to act out their favorite scenes from the Star Wars movies or TV series. Or they can come up with their own adventures.

The clone trooper helmet toy is an accurate reproduction of the helmets worn by the troopers in the Star Wars movies and the TV series about the Clone wars.

The clone wars were essentially the beginning of the end for the old republic and the creation of a new rule under Emperor Palpatine. It was probably the most significant event in the history of the Star Wars galaxy (that we know about anyway). It foreshadowed the systematic destruction of the influential Jedi Knights and allowed the Sith take control of the empire. Things would never be the same until an insignificant young moisture farmer from Tatooine blows up a not so insignificant Death Star (and discovers a few family home truths along the way).

Clones were used to fight in the clone wars after they had been secretly produced from the DNA of mercenary Jango Fett. For children interested in role playing in these clone wars as an imperial stormtrooper, there are a few different types of helmet.

The standard issue helmet is white with a dark visor. In terms of voice changing, the helmet modulates the wearers voice so that it sounds like the clones you hear in the movies/TV series. There are also many standard phrases in authentic clone voices that can be emitted from the helmet by pushing a few buttons.

Kids will love to put the helmet on and pretend to by attacking Count Dooku or some other villain. Or maybe they can pretend to do Darth Vader’s bidding and destroy the Jedis. Let their imagination go into overdrive.

There are other types of helmets that have slight modifications to the original helmet. Notably the 501st Legion clone trooper is a crack, top of the line stormtrooper. Their helmets have a slightly different shape and a blue trim to them. They have a standard set of phrases too. Captain Rex was a famous commander in the Legion and sported a red trimmed helmet. This is also available.

Finding Panasonic TX-L37S10 HDTV Reviews

by Jean Griffin

If you are looking to buy a new HDTV, like the Panasonic TX-L37S10, you will need to do a bit of research before you make any sort of purchase. There are two main things that you will need to do in order to pull off a purchase like this successfully. We will cover those things in a little detail below.

Now when you look at HDTV’s you will know that they are not cheap. Most of the HDTV’s available are rather expensive and have so many different features and extras that it becomes hard to make a choice. You will want to know as much as you can about this TV and others before you buy so that you know you are getting good value for money.

Now, the very first thing that you will want to do when thinking of spending a large amount of money like this, is to find out as much as you can about the product you are buying. Learning about the specific product is easily done online or offline, or by using both methods. Ok, let rule out standing in the middle of the street to stop everyone driving by to ask them about the product. The easiest thing you can do for yourself is to go into your nearest store that sells HDTV’s.

Now, when you do something like this you want to make sure that that store has the brand and model TV your are looking for – in this case, the Panasonic TX-L37S10. This will also help the sales person to give you all of the information that is needed. Now, armed with that information, you can speak to the person in charge of the HDTV department, and he or she will be happy to give you the ins and outs of the system.

The main things that they will tell you about and that you want to check are the screen size and resolution, what cards the monitor has, and if the TV is full HD, HD compatible and HD ready. You will find out what the difference with these types is later on.

If you are looking information online, it is as easy as doing it offline. You will not be able to walk up to someone online, but you can follow what people are saying by searching for reviews of the product. Reviews come in really handy at times like these, but be sure that you get to a site that offers your real reviews and not reviews that were made up by paid writers.

There are also forums that you can join about different TV products including the TV you want. You can ask people there what they think of the TV and if anyone has it. You will actually be surprised at how many people will respond.

Now, to get to the HD story – there is full HD (which is 1080p), HD ready (which is 720p) and HD compatible (which can handle an HD single but has no HD card installed). As you can see, the HD compatible TV is the lowest of the lot, and it is advised that you stay clear of this type of TV all together, as you will still need to upgrade the system after you get it.

Ideas for Your Decorative Light Designs

by Frank Froggatt

Whether you are interior decorating or landscaping for a house or commercial property, you need to make sure that the interior and exterior complement each other in some way. You can make this happen by balancing out the ambiance using outside light fixtures from selective angles and points. If you , for example, have a small deck or a garden that needs some lighting and you put in a large light fixture it will create a rather loud and crass effect on the area. You can achieve the right balance by using smaller lights placed closer to the ground like on the eaves of structures around the area, or on the trunks of trees.

Light designers and manufacturers realizing potential of decorative outdoor lighting introduced shapes, styles and finishes in consonance with changing times. The wide variety of outside lights in contemporary and stylistic designs, informal, or even neoclassical styles allow you to create a nice balance when matching you are interior with your exterior design.

If you have a pathway that needs to lighting, selecting fixtures with shades or top covers on them are the preferred style as they direct the light to the path and not in-your-face. There is nothing worse than to be momentarily blinded by instant glare. You don’t need to have a beacon light on your private property, but a nice decorative lighting design will help to bring attention to the special features of your house as well as help protect them. In commercial places such as malls, hotels, schools, colleges, and clubs, the decorative outdoor lighting should be artistic as well as utilitarian. Fixtures that would do well in the settings would include things like the ground level moon lamps, post lanterns, and compact fluorescent lights as they all help to control glare.

Another way that you can transform from old to new is by using timers and photo cells with your decorative outside lighting. One can visualize the gas-burning lamps of’00′s used to light streets. We have come a long way but nostalgia plays a hand as some of the same ideas are incorporated in electric bulbs available in flame shaped designs.

Whatever the design or style from diamond shaped to opal, antique lamp posts and shades, lights with frosted exterior, guests and visitors should not be inconvenienced by faulty placement and design selection. Rather than letting your neighbors or friends influence your decision on which lights to choose, let things like your budget and the area requirements define the system you purchase. If for instance you have a long pathway that you wish to provide lighting for, you might consider things like hanging Chinese lanterns to light it up or if you need to create a partition in your lawn then you might consider running some tiki torches, which come in many different colors.

You choices are unlimited, so it will require some level headed thinking in order to make sure that you choose the right outside light fixtures for your home and property.

The Hipsters With X-Ray Eyes

by Myer Thompson

Here’s the tagline: Suddenly he could see through clothes, flesh… and walls! Riveting, eh? Well, what can you say about the ’63 classic, X: THE MAN WITH X-RAY EYES. It’s a bona fide cult classic and it’s hip to dig these days. Hipsters love nothing more than to quibble about the alternate ending and whether or not Ray Milland, the titular man with X-ray eyes, did it all for the money. The answer: of course he did it for the money.

It’s a farce of a fable — a kind of Oedipus Rex for the mid-Sixties zeitgeist. A brilliant researcher, played by Milland, discovers a compound that when squirted on the eyes allows the person to see through a patient. It’s contact lens care sans the contacts. It’s X-ray in a bottle. It’s out there. Of course, his quest to save humanity from incredible suffering backfires, as it should given that it’s a Roger Corman flick.

The good doctor accidentally pushes a colleague out the window at to his death and goes on the lam. He helps diagnose diseases and ends up losing his mind and having to wear dark glasses to shield his sensitive eyes. Did I mention his eyes have turned completely black? He has a turn as a carnie and a gambler before he sets out into the desert to be alone.

When you can see through people, literally, what’s the fun of having them around anymore? But, as movie logic would have it, Milland stumbles upon a tent revival in the middle of the desert. When he tells the preacher that he is beginning to see through the very fabric of the universe, the preachers quotes Bible scripture: “If thy eye offends thee, pluck it out.”

Sound advice. In a fit of relief and madness — of course the two go hand in hand in a Corman film — Milland does just that. He loses his mind, claiming to see through the earth itself, and gouges out his own eyes. Now, the hipster controversy comes with whether or not the alternate ending had him screaming, “I can still see!” Corman denies that was ever said, but the rumor persists.

Find The Correct Symmetry With Your Cosmetic Exterior Light Fixtures

by Frank Froggatt

Whether you are interior decorating or landscaping for a residence or commercial property, you need to make sure that the interior and exterior complement each other in some way. You can make this happen by balancing out the ambiance using outside light fixtures from selective angles and points. If you , for example, have a small deck or a garden that needs some lighting and you put in a large light fixture it will create a rather loud and crass effect on the area. To get the right balance, the area should be highlighted by using small lights closer to the ground, on tree trunks or eaves of structures around.

Light designers and manufacturers realizing potential of decorative outside lighting introduced shapes, styles and finishes in consonance with changing times. Because of the large selection of different decorative outside lighting fixtures, and designs like contemporary, or neoclassical, or even informal, you can easily and harmoniously match the exterior with your interior design.

If you have a pathway that needs to lighting, selecting fixtures with shades or top covers on them are the preferred style as they direct the light to the path and not in-your-face. There is nothing worse than to be momentarily blinded by instant glare. On private property you don’t need to have great big bright lights, but having decorative light that is focused on special features of your landscape do a lot to not only highlight features but safeguard them as well. The outside lighting for commercial buildings such as malls, schools, and colleges, should be not only decorative and artistic but utilitarian as well. Fixtures that would do well in the settings would include things like the ground level moon lamps, post lanterns, and compact fluorescent lights as they all help to control glare.

As a way of transforming from old to new you might think of using timers and photo cells with your outdoor decorative lighting. If you think about it, you might be able to visualize what the old gas burning lamps of the’00s looked like when they were used. We have come a long way but nostalgia plays a hand as some of the same ideas are incorporated in electric bulbs available in flame shaped designs.

It doesn’t really matter what design you choose, you just need to make sure the design compliments and enhances the beauty and layout of your property rather than take away from it and become a nuisance to guests. Let things like your budget and the areas lighting requirements influence your decision on the proper lights rather than taking any input from the neighbors and friends. If a pathway is long and dark then hang Chinese lanterns or if you are wanting to create a partition in the lawn then plant tiki torches available in different sizes and color.

Take your time and be sure to spend some time looking around as the selection of different lighting arrangements is truly unlimited.

The Hypnotists, the Dupes, and the Economic Crisis

by John Berling Hardy

We are all aware by now of the extent of damage caused by the recent collapse on Wall Street.

That this could have been allowed to happen beggars belief. Still stranger is the idea that the crash came out of nowhere – that none of the supposed economic experts saw it coming. If we are to accept this, how can anyone be held to account for anything anymore? How is it that nothing is anyone’s fault and no one will take responsibility?

I don’t accept that the crash was an accident, still less an “Act of God”. There is more to it than simply a confluence of destabilising factors which no one could have predicted.

What is important is not so much the crash itself – that is a symptom. What it represents is an underlying series of events and decisions kept hidden from the public eye. These events are all linked as part of an ongoing process, a process which I will call The Game.

The Game is not a new phenomenon. Throughout our history it has existed in one form or another, played beneath the surface of all the great human civilisations. As one Game fails, another begins, different in form but remarkably similar in effect. The consumption bubble which brought about the Wall Street crash is an example of how this secret Game affects our lives and our society.

First, we know what goes up must come down, so it is no surprise that the enormous bubble created by the sales-driven economy would burst. Nonetheless, when it did, its brutal reality of chaos and carnage shocked every last one of us.

How that bubble grew is simple, really. Over the last several decades myriad products were foisted upon the public who drifted into a buying trance. As needs gave way to wants, specific wants gave way to addicts buying for the sake of buying. Consumption became rapacious, driven by slick advertising and enabled by easy credit. A population of shopaholics became so habituated to shopping that even when the money ran out last fall, penniless people carrying maxed out credit cards filled the malls coast-to-coast.

Because humans are driven by emotion and not reason, effective salesmen know that more can be achieved by a manipulative appeal to our emotional weaknesses than by the most cogent, brilliant argument.

Being a master manipulator then, is their goal.

One cannot b trained to be a “Player”, it is something to which one is born. Without a natural capability to manipulate others, Players would be left floundering. They all share the common trait of being narcissistic: they are out for themselves, and everyone else is merely incidental.

Manipulators – Players – are born, not made. Their art requires a degree of congruence in presentation that is simply not sustainable for those who are not naturally inclined to manipulate. The defining element in the character profile of a player is narcissism. But they are not merely narcissistic; they are narcissists to their very core.

Despite this extreme form of self-interest, Players are pack-hunters, gravitating towards one another and existing within carefully controlled circles. As soon as a community of Players has grown strong enough, they will take control of their environment and begin to exploit it for personal gain. This is how The Game begins.

Whereas the law of natural selection would suggest that the most talented people rise to the top, the dominance of the Players is achieved specifically at the expense of those who rightly deserve to rule. The Players lay down rules which work to their benefit and no one else’s, but these rules are hidden, and the game appears on the outside to be proceeding fairly. Whatever we may do to stop them, however, the truth is that the Players are always in control.

And all this is achieved through hypnosis.

Bear in mind that we’re not talking about the kind of hypnosis practiced my magicians and even therapists, but a more subtle, more dangerous art which elevates the Players to a dominance which transcends the physical realm alone.

It is this hypnosis which we call The Game. The Players convince us to play by their rules, and we accept this unquestioningly. If only we could shake ourselves free of this perpetual trance we might evade The Game altogether and experience it as nothing more than a distant memory.

Differences In Left Handed Electric Guitars

by Sarah Shipley

It’s no secret that playing a right-handed guitar can be difficult for those who are predominantly left-handed. If you are one of these people, then you may want to consider looking into left-handed electric guitars. These types of guitars are easy to find these days, there are much more comfortable for those who are left-handed to use. Besides being essentially flipped around, there are some key differences in two types that you should be aware of, even if you been playing guitar for a long time.

Left handed electric guitars are unique because they need to be operated in a different manner as against a right handed or regular guitar. In such guitars, the strings are attached in the opposite direction, and the thick strings are on the top, with the thin ones near the bottom. The chords and picking styles of this guitar moves from lower notes to higher ones.

Further, it is important to ensure that the nut slots are properly fixed in such a way as to accommodate the reversed order of strings and reduce the possibility of wear and tear. Knobs on left handed electric guitars should be placed such that it does not affect your strumming, preferably on the lower right hand side of your guitar. The pick guard should be placed below the strings when held in the right direction, in order to keep the guitar body protected while it is being played as well. Cutaways in such guitars should be placed on the lower side so as not to interfere with the musical experience. Also, if a particular model has two cutaways, then the larger one should be on the lower side of the guitar as opposed to the higher end.

Also, how you hold a left handed guitar is also different from holding a right handed one. Left handed electric guitars are held so that the body of the guitar is in the front and to the right of the musician while its neck reaches out to the left of the musician. The left hand is used to press the strings on the neck while the right hand is used to strum the strings so that a note is produced. This enables a person with a strong left hand to easily play the instrument without having to take the extra trouble of learning to operate one with his or her right hand.

Because left-handed electric guitars can be so different for right-handed variations, it will take even and experience guitar player some time to adjust. If you been playing with a right-handed guitar for some time and are left-handed, and you decide to pick up a left-handed model, that is going to take you a while to get used to. However, after you have practiced with it it will be more comfortable for you use.

Sound Effects For Your Music Production

by Mickey Roukeayeal

Cutoff frequency / Cutoff point. At about that point a filter comes into play and starts to affect the sound. This decrees what part of the frequency range the filter works on.

Attenuation. This decreases the target frequencies.

Level / Gain. It lets you cut ( attenuate ) or boost ( amplify ) a group of frequencies.

Bandwidth / Q / Resonance / emphasis / peak. The filter effects the range of frequencies either side of the cutoff point and measured in Hertz, so it is linked to frequency. However , it would be more helpful if it was measured in octaves.

The five different EQ types are :

Fixed EQ. This is typically a single control like Treble or Bass. A mixer might have Low ( bass ) and High ( treble ) EQ controls. The cutoff frequency here is fixed and you control the amount of cut or boost.

Graphic EQ. The frequency ranges are fixed split into a sequence of bands to make cut and augment individually. Each row of sliders control a particular frequency band. They are common on hi fi systems. It also stands alone studio devices and can be found in software. Nevertheless, you can technically divide the range into any amount of bands, common divisions on hardware units are fifteen and 31 covering two thirds and 1/3 of an octave ranges respectively.

Parametric EQ. With parametric EQ you change the frequency of the bands. It has often three or four bands, each with three controls – cutoff frequency, bandwidth and level, permitting you to use explicit frequencies within a particularly tight range.

Paragraphic EQ. This is a kind of super-parametic EQ. It blurs the line between graphic and parametric. It offers several bands like a graphic, but with user-definable frequency bands like a parametric ; as this can become quite complicated, they also tend to have highly-graphic interfaces to watch exactly what frequencies are being influenced.

Sweeping / Semi-parametric EQ. This is the middle between a fixed EQ and a full parametric EQ – while the bandwidth is fixed, you can control the centre frequency ( the cutoff point ). It’s common to many mixers. Typically, you will find fixed high and low EQ with a sweepable mid range control.
